That is a thick boi... I like the Sabrent better from the pure look perspective, however the integrated fan is probably a huge benefit in the Orico... thanks for the review, food for thought.
I have an ROG STRIX Z790-A Gaming Wi-Fi D4 motherboard - bought the UGREEN M.2 Enclosure & the Acasis 40gbps M.2 - could not break 1.25 GB/s write. I swapped cables, even bought the ASUS Thunderboltex 4 card, same speeds. Tried different drives, same 1.25 GB/s . Bangning my head against the wall.
Your mobo has 1 port in th e back that supports USB 3.3 2x2 (you have another of the same port but I'm not sure if you're using that with your case) , meaning it's top speed is 20 Gbps. So, you don't have USB 4.0. Another reason you probably only get 1.25GB/s is the SSD NVME you're using. what specific drive is it?
At some point they had a 20gbit version with a better fan/heatsink design, although it needed a screw, and I used a ssd that tested very well for sustained writes in order to use it as a giant dump location for anything up to and including entire disk images. Maybe they'll do this with the new 40gbit capability sometime.
Acasis tbu 401 pro. It's a good bit larger and more a little more expensive . But has a top mounted fan and really good thermals. Probably one of the best thunderbolt 4 m.2 enclosure on the market.
This makes sense with the prices dropping, but i can't imagine having a raid of ssd's for general users, so having a single 2TB SSD should be sufficient for most people, and if it's external, it can be easily hotswapped between systems.
just as an example, my desktop NEVER reaches past maybe 50c, even when gaming, but I ran a CHD compression utility and the CPU peaked at 100c, because it's basically stress testing the CPU at 100 constant across all the cores for hours at a time.
I don't like, it's pretty for sure, but you've got all that aluminum for potential thermal mass & then such a tiny heatsink; you could probably squeeze in a bigger one but still... the one that's also the hub is really really cool tho. Anyone who reads this, I wish you a nice day✌
Was very excited to purchase this enclosure. Those plastic lugs are ridiculous. I just broke both of them trying to fit them. Now I have to find something to hold in the card. Any idea?
Correct me if I'm wrong but the specfiic Acsis model you test is limited to 10gb/s where as the Orico is 40gbps, should the Orico be test against something similar such as the Acsis TBU405 PRO
Is this Thunderbolt 4 "compatible" or is this certified "Thunderbolt 4". The reason I ask is that everywhere I look it comes back "compatible" and USB4.
Ciao grazie per la tua recensione. Pensi che questo Orico è compatibile con l'ssd Samsung pro 990 ma con la versione del suo dissipatore incorporato? Grazie
Using windows 11, do u guys do this Right-click the drive on which you want to turn disk write caching on or off, and then click Properties. Click the Policies tab. Click to select Better performance. Click to select Enable write caching on the device. Only by doing this i am able to get the write speed to bump up
I didn't quite understand why the video shows 300Mbs transfer peed and ~80 Mbs speed a little later. Shouldn't it get close to atleast 1 G/g(bps) coz the benchmark shows ~3000 mbps ?
You are correct I get 550MB/s for 10Gbps adapter and 300MB/s for 5Gbps which is USB 3.1 or 3.2 Gen 1 which is basic USB 3.1 or 3.2 speeds. For 40Gps my guess he should be getting around 2000MB/s.
Aren't you trying to move to Japan? Isn't it really hard to move there though? Are you doing anything you could advise to others as advice on moving there?

K yeah I saw these for $99 but I didnt know how to judge if the speed was worth it over the $15 ones that are RTL9210 based. I like Orico, ive been buying a lot of their gear and they are solid.
I want you to look at the OWC express 1m2. It's usb4. It's absolutely gorgeous and heavy and is something you buy and sit back and go "yeeeeesssssssss" because it's so stupidly pretty. yes, it costs more. It's worth it.
Because the 9000 series is a complete joke and there are 5000 videos expressing that all over this site. The channel isn't about entertaining you, it's about him, at times, expressing his interest in various products that are "off the radar". Liked the tech community before "content creators" or strehmehrs attracted the normies.
1. You must be new here 2. It's a tech review channel and not Instagram or a beer pong party 3. Stop sharing your intrusive thoughts 4. RTIQ name checks out 5. Have a NICE day
I can't wait for the prices on these to go down to where the 3.2 enclosures prices are.
the official aliexpress store of orico is selling them for €64.36. is better than 100$.
@@Rayu25Demon oh snap Thanks dude I Will pick it up there. No minimum bulk?

Really hoping we see 12TB-16TB versions of the drives in 2025.👍
What was the other enclosure you were talking about? The one with the metal top that had a fan on top of the M.2.
Acasis tbu 401 pro. It's a good bit larger and more a little more expensive . But has a top mounted fan and really good thermals. Probably one of the best thunderbolt 4 m.2 enclosure on the market.
That's a cool little enclosure!
Perfect for the base model MacMini M4
Si too noisy
Top notch info. Good job
I wonder if you take off the lid if that will help with the heat

"I got go out of america"...; never your words made more sense than now....
You have reached the 666K subscriber level. I took a screenshot.

I haven’t watched you in like 10 years. You look so different hope everything is alright 💯
same lol, just got big nostalgia vibes
How about putting another more efficient heat sink instead, if it has a enough room for that?
Thanks for sharing.
Two questions: what SSD did you use to get these numbers ?
Then, would this be suitable to edit 8K video ? or might tooo hot?

That’s a cool Klingon mas you have on, the hair and forehead look real

Can you link the larger enclosure
Great Vid. Just checking, the link to Amazon for the enclosure says "Platform - Windows" I have a Mac Studio M2 ?????
Works OK on Apple

Can i use the sn850x with heatsync on it?
Ciao grazie per la tua recensione. Pensi che questo Orico è compatibile con l'ssd Samsung pro 990 ma con la versione del suo dissipatore incorporato? Grazie
I bought one, and it gets really hot. The fan doesn’t help much, and it’s noisy all the time.
At 6:43 its averaging 300MB/s it isn't running at full speed that is USB 3.1 Gen 1 speed. Should be like 2000MB/s.
My device only supports usb 3.2 gen 1 if I buy this will it give the maximum speed with my device if not how much can I expect
When Japan?

Will it fit a samsung 4tb 990 pro nvme m.2 ssd with pre-installed heatsink?
C'mon buddy.

the 80MB/s is actually USB 2.0 Speed.
Hi mister, this is the fastset taht can reach right ?
Aren't you trying to move to Japan? Isn't it really hard to move there though? Are you doing anything you could advise to others as advice on moving there?
I want to get the Acasis, but reviews have said that the fan is always on, and it’s loud.
There is a ACASIS that have a switch to turn off the fan....is the 405PRO

They are $10 off plus 10% off right now, so that changes the price a bit.
Sir my laptop has type c 3.0 port with 10 gigabyte/ sec
Can I get this speed in orico enclosure and one nvme . ?
Is it bad idea to run os of this? I sadly need windows and I'd rather disconnect drive then mess around with dual boot options
I want you to look at the OWC express 1m2. It's usb4. It's absolutely gorgeous and heavy and is something you buy and sit back and go "yeeeeesssssssss" because it's so stupidly pretty. yes, it costs more. It's worth it.
how do you solve very low Q1T1 random write speed? I've got a similar enclosure (fully metallic model) and the same test results
its time you get a co host..
That Orioco multi head USB cable is not good unless you snip off the rubber. It doesn’t seat correctly on many devices like iPhones. Unfortunately
flip it around?
the banana 😆🤣🤣
Gotta get dat daily potassium and magnesium lel
It doesn't matter it's under 80 c the performance gets worse with more heat I would buy one that's has proper heat and should be under 60
Most of my Orico enclosures have failed. Cool while they work, but high failure rate (in my experience!)
Perfect for EGPU.
Yo you have 666K 😈 Subscribers !!! Hail lord Zenu !!!
(Screams in modded Skyrim)
666k subscribers is wild. Also first
But can I run a Bitcoin node on it?
Congrats on 666k subs haha
just got one for my iphone not the one in the video.magsafe to of ali express
See-through plastic just cheapens and lessons the quality. There are no moving parts other than the small little fan so it’s irrelevant to function.
666k!!! 👹
banana 😂
Why review the 9600x and 9700x when you can review some random knick knacks
I clicked exactly for that knicknack. Got tired of seeing the same content on every channel.

Ifyou're gonna correct the way Aluminum is said in British English, learn that these are NOT hard drives. These are NVMe/SSD drives. carry on lol
…”these are NOT hard drives”…. Hmmm, I gave it a pretty hard rap on the bench, and it seemed VERY hard.
@teksyndicate Congratulations to 666k Subs
Nice fingernail polish 40 year old bro. I'm sure your hard drive is clean.
