    Couldn’t tell. Do you have to unhook the battery terminals before hooking on the tender clamps?

    I have a Honda CR-V suv which I recently started using only once in a week or maybe once in ten days. I noticed that sometimes I need jumper to start on cold days
    So my question is ; is this device good to keep the battery’s life in a ready to use good condition ? If so what volt should I use ? Please answer. Thanks

      Per user manual, when the battery is fully charged, it will constantly monitor the battery and swich ON again when needed to maintain the battery at full status.

    Does it automatically stop charging when it is fully charged?

      After fully charged, if you don't disconnect it will automatically to float mode to maintain the battery at full status.

    Did you ever test to see what voltage these charge to what level and then at what voltage they drop to maintain, and at what point they bump the voltage back up, etc? What routine they use? I never have. I have a few of them, with seemingly good results. Now there are no name chargers on ebay that look just like these. Plus some have a digital readout that shows the current charge or something. As with all this chinese stuff they don't really say much about them. Also I don't know if they reach higher voltages that are optimal for AGM batteries. And oddly there are not much reviews on youtube.

    The only problem I see with this gadget is that a light (1 for both readings) will turn ON at 50% & 100% without giving you an accurate voltage reading.

    When I connected I put the neg on first then the pos. I changed it per you suggestion. Will it hurt the battery that I connected the neg first for the first 3 days of charging?

    • @petervonpanda
      @petervonpanda  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think so. I think the device is smart and handles the charging after you connect both anyway.

      It won't have made any difference at all. It's only telling you to do positive first because in other situations in general that's a good safe practice. Modern cars (most) are negatively grounded - meaning the negative battery terminal is connected to the engine & chassis. If you connect the negative first, while the positive is still dangling around, it could accidentally touch something metal like the frame - which remember is already connected to the negative battery terminal. That's nearly a short-circuit situation (or it IS for the charger itself). Now I've seen on another review this charger has reverse-polarity and short-circuit protection - that's when the red Fault light would light up - so in this case it wouldn't actually be all that terrible if such an accidental connection were made.
      But think about another situation - connecting jumper leads. If you connect the negative leads from each car (or booster pack) first, then you connect one end of the positive lead to the full battery, and as you're reaching over the engine bay to connect the other positive end to the flat battery, if you were careless or dropped the lead and it touched something metal in the engine bay, you'd create a dead short circuit between the two terminals of the full battery (via the jumper leads) and things will get real hot real fast. It's only 12 volts but there's almost nothing to limit the current flow and car batteries are able to put out hundreds of amps.
      So if you do it the recommended way, connecting positive leads first, that situation cannot occur.

    OK u put the positive on first negative second NOW when taking it OFF u take the negative off FIRST??? Then the positive

      I think pickup trucks uses batteries rated 24v… this device will only maintain/charge 6volts & 12volts batteries,.. you need to know what’s the voltage on the battery you have
