Bear in mind that the reason why Sabo was able to regain his memory was because he read both Ace, Akainu and Luffy's names together. The flashback to when they became sworn brothers is triggered due to Akainu's name being Sakazuki, which literally means "sake cup", the type of sake cup used for special ceremonies like becoming brothers, for example. That's how Sabo's memory was triggered.

I always saw it as since Ace die, his only regret was not being their for Luffy anymore therefore Sabo seeing Ace's death in the news caused his memories to awaken to take his place to look out for Luffy in his stead. In a weird way Sabo inherited Ace's will.
Considering that devil fruits possibly may have wills of their own, it would connect it even more with how Sabo said the same words as Ace in the end, specially given how much of a theme the inheritance of wills is across the series
Sakazuki (Akainu) means something along the lines of “a sake cup used in bonding ceremonies.” So it was Ace’s and Luffy’s names plus the “Sakazuki” they shared to be brothers.

If you didn’t know! Ivankov actually told Sabo everything that happened during impel down and marineford, that was confirmed in the Sabo episode special. So he knew everything luckily

God I love Sabo so much he is definetly one of my Top favourite characters, maybe even Number 1
So tragic that Sabo had to sink bombarded by a Celestial Dragon to be able to join Dragon and train his ass there and become so damn strong, but without that he wouldn't be capable to help Luffy in Dressrosa wooping the tournament to get the fruit and after protecting Luffy against Jesus Burgers. It's so damn well written! T_T
As painful as Ace's death was for Luffy, it's got to be even worse for Sabo when you think about it. Luffy, despite being unable to save Ace, can at least know that he did everything in his power to save his brother, even though it wasn't enough. Sabo, however, will always wonder if he could have made a difference. If he'd been there (whether by himself or with members of the Revolutionary Army), would they have been able to rescue Ace? We'll never know and that has to eat away at Sabo.
The worst thing is, if he was there with some of the Revolutionary Army, he would probably save Ace. Just from shock of seeing him might cause Ace not to turn back. Or at least stall Akainu long enough for Shanks to arrive.
That's how brothers are just by seeing them they feel relief, no words are needed🥹

dragon and yassop werent bad fathers let me explain , 1st lets start with yassop, the only reason he stayed as a pirate is because mom ussopp wanted him to keep on doing what he loves and shit and she didnt want the birth of his child be a burden for his hobby , where as dragon , he didnt want to be in luffy's life since it wouldve endangered him (think about what happened with ace before he was even born the navies were looking for the mother to execute her and to end the bloodline) to avoid the same situation dragon still keeps an eye on luffy and protects him on rare occasions (like in loguetown) its just that its not that he doesnt want to be in his kid's life (im looking at you ging) he just couldnt be there for him

Also if you go rewatch Marineford I think Luffy is actually the reason that Ace didn't get saved. When Luffy charged the platform Marco was swinging around the back to grab him and fly him out. There wouldn't of been an Ace Akainu moment because Marco would have been holding him in the sky. It's fucked up but in reality Luffy being there both helped and hurt the end result. Right after that Marco had the cuffs put on him.
No no no. Remember Garp is there. The first time Marco tried to get Ace, Garp smacked him down. The reason Luffy got through was because Garp let his grandson (Luffy) hit him to save his other grandson (Ace)

Sabo is such a huge piece that I am convinced that if he was there, neither Ace nor Whitebeard would have died.
Whitebeard was gonna die no matter what, but I can see Ace surviving. That being said, Sabo wouldn’t be able to take on Akainu any easier than Ace did. But it’d be interesting
@@fuzzbutthead8597 I’m fully confident that Sabo could do way better than Ace. Ace didn’t last one attack against Akainu, but Sabo fought on a vague equal grounds against Fujitora.
Also, let’s not forget that although Whitebeard was sick, that monster could’ve survived the damage all the way until Akainu blasted him with magma.
@@AbyssalSword I see what your saying, but here’s how I see it. Sabo didn’t have the Flame Flake fruit then. I think that’s the only reason he could fight Fujitora on equal terms. And I think Whitebeard allowed himself to die. He took off all of the tubes keeping him alive, I think he wanted to sacrifice himself from the beginning to rescue Ace. He failed, but that’s what I believe
@@fuzzbutthead8597 I disagree on the Mera Mera no mi part, but the sacrifice part I do agree. Whitebeard definitely accepted that he would die before the war, but having Sabo and by inclusion the revolutionaries by his side would've definitely altered his entire view of the battle. It would've turned from "somebody has to die and it will be me" to "I can save my son and escape safely".
