Interesting presentation, My confusion is she is talking a about consciousness is provided by atman, so what happens when somebody becomes unconscious and not dead. Is Atman, gone out for a while. What would be the vedic interpretation.
The conciousness is still there when there is unconciousness..as when u come to conciousness ..u say that iwas unconcious of every thing around ..this can not be said if conciousness was not there at the time of unconciousnes ..
There is a flaw in your understanding, Atman doesn't provide consciousness, Atman is consciousness! It's just another name. And Atman simply means 'Self' i.e. you yourself. Regarding the point of unconsciousness, Atman/Consciousness doesn't go anywhere, just objects of experience disappear. Like this text is now your object of experience which Atman is experiencing, if u fall unconscious Atman will still be there just this object (text) will disappear and there will be experience of Nothingness (no object-ness)
Unconscious means only absence of mind from waking state. It is something like dream state.Atman, the pure consciousness is always there in waking state, dreaming state (unconscious state ) and deep sleep state.

Since that time, I have listened to all of the lectures which were offered to the students of IIT Delhi. I consider these sessions to be the best of all of Vedanta and Upanishads lectures with the focus of atman and self. I am using lecture as a term loosely but these sessions are of exponentially higher order of teaching.
