- Finding the perfect actors for your show is a painstaking art: A few right moves, and you can back up an Emmy truck next to that Brinks truck. A couple of wrong moves, and the whole project is a disaster.
Bates Motel executive producers Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin certainly had their hands full when they set out to cast their contemporary Pyscho prequel for A&E. At Comic-Con on Friday, they treated the audience to a behind-the-scenes look at Bates’ audition process, screening footage of Vera Farmiga, Freddie Highmore, Nestor Carbonell, Olivia Cooke, and Max Thieriot trying on their character for the first time. They show off their acting skills… and Ukranian folk-dancing skills… and Spider-Man impressions. Want to see a true horror show? Watch their auditions below.

This may be late but I thought so too. Even though, Tom Holland both easily sold the awkwardness of Peter Parker and the physicality of Spider-Man, Freddie Highmore would be just as good if it wasn't for Tom.
i don't know if Freddie would be able to pull of the physical fitness of spider man but that's what cgi is for? lol

Vera farmiga is such a talented actress. How she can play mrs warren and be so very different as Norma Bates. It would be very interesting to see vera farmiga play out a scene with her as mrs warren having a conversation with her as norma bates. She can really pull you in as a performer. Not alot of actors and actresses can do that.

If they ever do... Wont say remake lets say reboot of psycho, hes got my vote for norman, even though freddie is nailing it in his own way. I usualy say allot of perkins norman was in the body language, in the remake voughn failed to imitate it. Henry thomas qnd freddie highmore got what perkins was doing, they are not imitating him but the body language is almost exatcly the same

steelcleats I don't think anything is too far fetched with this show--especially when it comes to Norman Bate's cinematographic history. I mean, it was a film, by Hitchcock, adapted from a Novel named "Psycho" by writer Robert Bloch, about a serial killer who has a "penchant" for his mother. lol. I don't think you can get any kinkier than that--stranger definitely, but maybe not kinkier. They could really take this show anywhere!

I just got into this show and when I tell you, I looooooooovvvvveeeee this freakin show! Omg they picked the perfect people to play these roles and I have fallen in love with Dylan (Max Thieriot). He's just gorgeous. I'm so anxious for season 3. I watched two seasons within three days. Obsessed much lol. I love Vera too. She played in The Conjuring and other movies that I love to see her in. She's just so captivating. Maybe it's her eyes or personality. Either way, this show is awesome!
