What I like about this is that Foden and Bellingham have pace and guile and will run beyond Kane who likes to drop into midfield.
If this line-up were deployed against Switzerland, could see England going all the way. Come on Gareth, do it!

The shocking player for me has been saka, the amount of times I’ve seen him have his defender 1on1 and he just turns and passes back it’s crazy
He has beaten his defender more times than any other England player. One of Saka’s biggest assets is his iq. No point in beating a defender if there’s no one in the box to deliver to. It’s about timing and maturity

I get so fed up with these pundits not realising that a big issue for us is playing a 10 alongside Kane who already likes to drop, now we’re playing 2 of them? Where’s the threat behind?
Needs to be a 3-4-3 but with Palmer and Gordon up top so Kane can drop and play killer balls to the runners behind and arrive in the box late for those drag backs

England are sleepwalking to elimination. They woke up briefly at the end of the last game to fluke it, then hit the the snooze button again after the second goal. Three at the back, TAA and Saka as wing backs, Foden, Rice and Mainoo, with Palmer and Gordon wide. Need to drop the unfit, out of form and un-droppable Kane!

Saka is not a left wingback. Going to a back 3 will be disastrous. It’s basically defend first and attack on the break. We’ve gone into this tournament with some great attacking talent and yet they’re not going to be fully utilised. What an effin mess. All because that Pratt Southgate has bought about by taking an unbalanced squad in the fact he hasn’t taken a fit left back.
Let's be honest. The only thing that ever changes with an England game under Southgate, is the opposition. Lineup's, tactics, formation, Southgate's post match excuses, Harry Kane's hair...all the same!

A risk changing the formation? That's what everyone incl (J&J ) has been crying out for as the team is unbalanced. He's being forced to make the changes as he's refused to voluntarily.
So no Palmer or Gordon, still got Foden and Bellingham which hasn’t worked, TAA still midfield, I don’t see how this will work either
This formation gives the opposition defenders something to think about, players running in behind, dynamic movement from central midfield, a real goal threat in central areas as well as from out wide as well as being solid defensively.

Back five and two holding is the only system Southgate knows how to make work
Everyone complaining about players out of their natural position now saying Saka at LB..yet somehow Foden cannot play LM even though he's played there more often in recent times. Everyone can pick a team, that's not the issue. It's the TACTICS and lack of pressing, energy and intent to attack with intensity. Don't matter how you shuffle the players, that won't suddenly change the MENTALITY set up by Southgate.

It would solve a lot of problems. Saka isn't in the best of form, meanwhile Palmer is looking very sharp. And then of course there is the trippier no left foot issue, so saka being moved to LWB solves several problems
this change , sorts out the issue with Trippier and Foden. perhaps also with Kane dropping back so much , he wont need to do it.

Saka started his career at Arsenal as left back and wing back. He was brilliant with assist after assist when he was a nobody. I’m sure he will be fine

Toney was amazing when he came on. I'd definitely play him with Kane. Because Kane on his own has looked terrible.
Maths profs say Gareth 3 🦁 will win better w a 3-4-3 w Trent as a right wingback & Saka as Left WB. Harry does much better with partners like Palmer & Jude up front. Use Foden as an impact sub.

And choosing the right formations is how teams press nowadays its very important.
