Levemir, like insulin, needs to be refrigerated for the long term (beyond 42 days). For the short term, it does not need to be refrigerated, but it does need to be kept cool. The FRIO is not a refrigerator substitute, so is not sufficiently cold for beyond 42 days. But for the 42 days, the FRIO will keep the medication cool and safe, even when the ambient temperature is 100F.

Hi I am from Pakistan. Please let me know to deactivate it. I have used it first time and having problem in deactivating. For the purpose I placed it in the kitchen where normal temperature is always more than 35°. More than 4 days have passed but it is not coming to its original position.
First thing to mention is that there is no need to "de-activate" it. Simply let it sit on the shelf (always make sure there is air circulation) until you want to use it again. If you want it to completely dry out, it eventually will as it is simply evaporation. The most warm and most dry location will result in the quickest evaporation.
I also have this issue; it never dries out, even after days have passed by, so when I want to use it again, I’m not sure if I’m supposed to put it in water. If I use it as it is, I’m afraid it’s not really working because it says it only lasts 48 hours, but if i immerse it in water again, it gets too hard and I know it’s supposed to remain a bit flexible. What should I do?
This product works really well HOWEVER there is a strong odour coming from it. It's smells like wet dirty socks. What can I do about ridding the product of this really unpleasant smell please?
