    I have lived in Edmond multiple times in my life. I first went to Edmond in the 1970’s . I went to 2 years of high school there and attended CSU (now called UCO) graduating in 1991. I lived there several times after graduating college and my parents lived there when they died. I have 2 sisters that still live there.
    I KNOW the area and where it came from.
    It is the rich suburb of OKC. It has been for decades
    Around the corner cafe has been there for many many decades but doesn’t have very good food (it’s probably the oldest restaurant in Edmond)
    I’ve seen Edmond grow over the decades

    Moved to Edmond before this video was shot, but I agree with everything you said. We are very happy here. Chill and convenient! Neighborhood in East Edmond welcomed us right in, got invites to supper club and the wife to Bunco nights. Kind of helps that so many people in Edmond are or were corporate gypsies and understand that new people moving in are new opportunities for friends.

    Nice video, learned a lot. Exploring a little farther east for retirement. I want to visit, maybe on our next trip to Dallas. Mostly have been looking at Arizona, but Oklahoma is moving up the chart, and Edmond looks really nice. Wish I could convince the kids to make a big move cause California is so unaffordable for them, the American Dream is gone here! $800-$900k for a 1600’ fixer in SG Valley, not to mention the other ridiculous taxes, cost and insurance.😢. Hot summers don’t bother me, but the Oklahoma winters might be something this old So Cal boy might have trouble adjusting to.

    • @MovingtoOklahoma
      @MovingtoOklahoma  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for watching! Dallas and OKC are similar in weather because they are only 200 miles apart. In the winter Dallas is probably 3-7 degrees warmer. They both are going to have some cold days, but it's not like Chicago. You'll get days in the 30's and teens in January and February, but it's mostly upper 40's to low 60's. Honestly, I golf every month of the year. With that being said I literally closed on a house yesterday and the buyers are from California! Oklahoma is what people think Texas is going to be.

      @@MovingtoOklahomaone set of kids are in Dallas area and we’ve considered that as a possibility, but seems like increased prices, sky high property taxes & insurance would be no better than L.A, even without a mortgage. 3-1/2 hour drive down the 35 would be quite reasonable. We drive 4-5 times a year to Chico Ca. now, to see other family, but it’s a 9 hour drive.

    If you think you live in Edmond in truth you have to look at your address not your zip code. If you live on 2nd, 15th, 33rd , Danforth, Covell, Coffee Creek or Sorgum Mill rds it's mostly Edmond if you live east of Western and west of Post rd. Otherwise you probably live in okc , Oklahoma county, or Arcadia. Looking at the mile section lines like Nw 150th or Ne 234th . Like he said about Deer Creek its not a city but a school district in Nw okc Se Logan county and Nw Oklahoma county but it is growing fast may need another high school within 8 years to limit the school size below 5,000 kids. Edmond itself is projected to grow to between 250 to 500k residents in its 90 square miles depending on whether it starts having more apartments go up. My money is on about 350k with okc built up on 3 sides.

    I’ve lived in Midtown/Uptown for over 25 years. My in-laws lived in Fairview Farms and I worked off of 150th. Most hateful place I’ve ever been to. Couldn’t pay me to move there. Pulling teeth to even go to Memorial. My in-laws never knew any of their neighbors, all of our neighbors have pride flags and aren’t even gay! We’re all on group chat. No thank you.
