Her transforming into midnight feels more justified, natural if she's smiling, wish they'd kept it in the final animation.

It's Rebecca Schoiet's voice does singing for Twilight and Sunset that's why Twilight's part sounds correct Rebecca does alot of the wip songs before they get everyone else to do their part for the finished project
Idk why everyone's talking about how this version is so much better. This version is wonderful but the final version is pretty much perfect. I think the final cinch voice has a certain authoritative and powerful feel this one doesnt have as much, and Twilight doesn't really sound like Twilight here. I do agree keeping the smile would've been cool though, not sure whether I wish they kept that or not
I think the reason people think it's better is because it appears more expressive. Another comment mentions that the final product is done with standard pupper animation, which limits things a bit. When you think about it, the expressions in this one are allowed to be more menacing and thus kind of scarier, which leaves more of an impact. The teacher looks so much more intimidating in this one and her voice, while sounding too young, hits a bit harder and harsher, whereas the final version sounds a bit too soft (in my opinion) We're essentually getting a glimps into something we can't have due to the animation constraints.

This version of the song is super intimidating, it really emphasizes why Twilight folded in to "Unleashing the Magic" and the smile at the end was just perfect. The song as performed in the movie was probably toned down a bit due to how frightening a 7 yearold child might find it, but regardless the final version of the song is still one of the best, most memorable songs in EQ and the MLP franchise as a whole
It's demos like this that make me wish they get included on soundtracks.. such a rare occurrence when the official sources release them, it's a shame. Twilight's part is my top favorite on both versions but for different reasons, haha.
