Are both 777 aircraft the 9-across configurations? Because EVA uses the 10-across on their European routes.

That's a great question! The configuration of EVA Air's Boeing 777 aircraft can vary depending on the specific route and aircraft type. On their Toronto to Manila route, it is likely that both 777 aircraft are configured with 9-across seating in economy class, as this is a common configuration for long-haul flights.
However, it's worth noting that EVA Air may use different configurations on their European routes, such as the 10-across seating you mentioned. This could be due to factors like passenger demand, competition, and aircraft availability.
To be certain, it's best to check EVA Air's website or contact their customer service directly to confirm the specific configuration of the Boeing 777 aircraft on the Toronto to Manila route.

This is what they allow: Economy
      Up (B/Y) / Standard (Q/H/M) / Basic (V/W/S):2 pieces, 23kg(50lbs) each
Discount (A):1 piece, 23kg(50lbs). Our luggage was way lesser than 23 kg. It was was like 17 or 18.

It's a shame that your luggage didn't arrive with you during your trip to the Philippines, causing a delay. Experiences like this can be frustrating, especially when you're excited to start exploring. In the future, you might want to consider using luggage tracking devices or investing in travel insurance to help minimize the chances of this happening again. These tools can provide peace of mind and ensure that you're prepared for any unexpected travel hiccups.
