It later transpired the commentary was fake and the video, which received millions of hits worldwide, had been put together by an executive from a rival team. The businessman was later arrested and investigated by police over the posting of the footage. The driver, Samir Thapar, was actually an experienced competitor in the Indian Rally Championship but 2013 was the year he returned to action after a long lay-off because of injury and other commitments, which may explain why he is so rusty in the clip. While Thapar and his co-driver, Vivek Ponnusamy, were not amused by the “malicious” video, clearly lots of people have been as it has racked up more than 7.6 million views."
Rally racing is surprisingly challenging. The races usually happen in nature environments and each of the track contains very steep routes, jumps and other types of obstacles. One car needs two men to operate the car. One gives route orders and the other drives the car. If the driver makes a wrong turn there's a worst case scenario the car might flip upside down and land out of the road. Not to mention there are rally crowd people watching nearby the road who unfortunately can get in the way. Fortunately people usually run to help the rally drivers if they make a bad car accident and need medical treatment.
Watching highlights of Group B rally races from the 80's is just insane to watch. Never mind the cars blistering around tricky roads at dangerous speeds, but the damn crowds back then loved to be ON THE ROAD and taking pictures.

The thing with rally racing, is that the drivers are moving so fast and across such varied terrain, that there has to be a co-driver who knows the incoming turns so they can call them out because the driver cannot physically react fast enough to make turns as they become visible.
