Hey guys, I flew out the Yak-3P the other day and had good fun in it, i also ran into some of the downsides that became more pronounced at 5.0 br. Hope you enjoy! and do make sure to Like, Comment, SHARE and Subscribe for more! Have a great day gents o/
The way a have the best results in this plane was to lure the enemy in kinda close, then go defensive trying to drag the enemy down to lower altitude. Once I get them lower my squad mate they didn't see comes in and we do the old bait and switch. This yak to me is more of a support plane.
I think for the BR, the Yak-3 is better at 4.0 than the Yak-3p is at 5.0. I can't wait to see what he says about the Yak-9UT. I've had some pretty fun times in that plane, that and the Yak-3U.
Armoured belt is definitely my choice ... the muzzle velocity is higher making them more accurate and require less lead. Rips apart engines and sets fuel tanks on fire like crazy. Hit a wing spar and they flip into an uncontrolled spin and slam into the ground. You get a lot of pilot kills too.
i like your passing comment : "people rushing" the way this game is played.... yes AirRB is now a tanker trash pilot heaven, they play for the SL, not a care in the world for winning.
@@jengar6258 Yep that is adding up to the already abysmal matchmaking changes...resultt : braindead matches with little to no interest as you rarely stumble into a worthy opponent, and if u do you re either swarmed by enemies whilst dogfighting or the enemy has folded and crashed to the ground to deny kills....a far cry from the 2015-2018 era where Nations strategies came into play (Germans climbing, russians sticking together in fur balls, Japan eing Japan)..
@@jda4887 make a squadron with training as the goal, find those players that seem to have potential but rush rush rush and school them, this is all i can think of.. a pipe dream i know, i have little patience or faith in people.
I love this thing, in ground rb especially, the cannons can pen the top of panther turrets and the environment of ground rb gives the perfect conditions to perform in the yak3p, so you can keep the sky clear of enemies.
You can use the prop pitch airbrake trick in a dive to keep your speed down - I use it often in yaks. In a dive, set throttle to 0, and prop pitch to 50% or 100% ( I have a toggle) - it really allows you to take diving passes you wouldn't normally be able to take in the yaks without ripping.
Yep! I also use it when diving to land to slow down easier. Works well in Spitfires and especially 109s (they call it the German Airbrake but it can be used on pretty much all props with pitch control I think)
@@superandre96 100% is fully flat pitched, 50% is half pitched. Higher %, more airbrake effect. I toggle between auto engine (0% pitch at 0% throttle), 50%, and 100% depending on how fast I want to be going/how much I need to brake.
A belts review for various guns might be a good idea for a series. I use tracers with ShVaks and B20 cannons, the FI-T rounds definitely seem the best to me. Any ShVaks past 500-600m of course will struggle. Similarly I only use stealth on Hispanos, it gets rid of the useless T (Tracer) round, and I have little problems with them.
Great review, as always! Good you mention how to counter the Yak as well. I'm often flying a bomber, I wished the Halifax should escape, and it did, you got out of ammo the second time, and won the match :)
This is my opinion on yak 3p to me its a good plane its basically a lesser version of yak 3 when comes to speed and overall but when comes to armaments it is good but i rather get yak 9u than risking low ammo count
Fun fact: the B-20M and B-20S are the same weapon, the only difference is in their mountings - the B-20M (for "Motornaya Pushka") fires along the engine through the prop hub, while the B-20S ("Sinkronisovannaya", or synchronised) fires over the engine through the cowling. They're the exact same gun otherwise.
Hey Jengar. Try checking protection analysis. You can check out the stats of each bullet in a belt. Best HE filler belts are definetly defaults, tracers, and stealth for most russian 20s.
the armor target belt is good in ground rb where u can kill panthers through their roofs quite easily personally easier than the f4u corsair since u can pull up much quicker the tracer belt is pretty good against aircraft bc it is just pure fragmentation though i prefer using the default belt bc it is just half frag and half ap bc u can pilot snipe
Not sure why he doesn't mention the tracer belts. out of all the options, its the only option with 100% explosive rounds. The tracer FI-T rounds have less explosive mass than the FI rounds but having more of them is better.
I personally often dont like tracer belts as they often distract me from my aim too much. But your argument is good, and i'll try them next time i fly it.
i found ground targets work better with this aircraft , i would say a bit of headache to fly with MEC but performs way better with MEC so it kinda asks for you to use it , changing supercharger gears and controlling the oil and air filter helps cool it off even on desert maps i can manage decent eng temp and oil temp with 20% on both filters , i have to warn about using prop pitch at 100% and the superchargers gears since you can actually over rev your engine and destroy it. around 2700 M alt for 2nd supercharger gear ,80-90 % mixture . highly recommend changing supercharger gears it'll boost your performance singnificantly on this aircraft helping you outrun enemies.
@@jengar6258 i just noticed my typing error it's 2700 meters for the supercharger xd sorry about that. but im happy to help those who need it or want it. anyways merry xmas hopefully you had a great day.

Otherwise you have to clean them frequently and still have to replace them every few months or so. (if you want to stay competitive) It takes some time to get used to, but imo. it's worth it.
I don't know why people say that this one is better then the normal Yak-3 Is still OP, don't get me wrong, but had worse (sparkier) cannons, more weight because of the metal reinforcements of the wings and turns a little worse because of that And 1 BR more than the normal even it's performance is slightly worse!
Eh the 3 20 millimeter cannons are actually a improvement in my opinion it's alright sparks a bit but a good accurate 1-2 second burst does the job for me.

Usually the cannon version of an aircraft is the worst option performance-wise. The BR gets bumped up without a better engine.
