- I have this Mariner 60E for sale.
Bought it a year ago but changed my mind and went for twin 30 motors instead of the single 60.As you can see it starts and runs but is in need of a service as it does not seem to want to rev up fully.
Do you know the serial number of the engine, I have the same currently trying to fix it. But the place where it should say it fell off?
Hey. Whats the factory settings for air mixture screws, 60hp? Thanks
Hi. I recently bought a motor like this for cheap. Do you perhaps know where I can get a tiller arm for it?
Sounds it runs on 1 cyl. not 2, which has very unique sound pattern. That is why it is hard to start.
Hi Deon, I'm just getting into the boating game and have the same motors as yours in the video. Just want to ask what oil/fuel ratio do you use for these motors. I've been using 50:1but it seems to be fouling up the plugs and a mechanic did comment once that I have too much oil in my fuel. I'd been really interested to know what you run on this motor.
Hi Roland,I had difficulty with my 60 but generally run 50:1 with my 30s without any issues. I've been running 70:1 lately and found less smoke being produced. Yamaha recommends a 100:1 mixture but that may be a bit weak and could cause more engine wear in the long run.
@@reelistikfishing-capetown9476. Hi Deon. Thanks for the reply. I've since switched to 80:1 and definitely have better performance. I don't really run my motors hard so hopefully the wear is minimal. Thanks again for your comments...appreciate it.
Top speed was better with single 60 or twin 30?
Hi, I never used the 60 on my boat so wouldn't know
@@reelistikfishing-capetown9476 Thanks
I'm very happy with the twin 30s performance. My boat gets onto plane easily and gets a decent speed with good economy.
I also feel safer having twins in case of an engine failure.
Hi mate. What is the year of this engine?
The 60 is from 1984 and my twin 30s are from around 1986. Antique motors lol
It look like a made in Japan motor, the best, as my 86 25 hp are the same color decor, before Mercury wiped out this brand name by quality issues.
