Guaranteed that when players state they dont like the bland bonuses, the devs/Ion complain that they worked hard on them and make an excuse that theyre really busy. They wont accept that they made a boring decision.
After my initial reaction of hating that the theme is the same for everyone, I gave the tier sets more thought. Like they have done with the first sets in DF and TWW they are just supposed to be passive that you don't even think about. Unfortunately some of them just doesn't work the same for everyone. I primarily play Devastation and Elemental. The Dev tier set shoots out a shattering star that does 50% less dmg. The only thing you get is the dmg increase that shattering star provides. It does not proc an essence burst if you have Arcane Vigor talented, each shattering star does not replicate a 2nd one if you have Eternity Span talented. I was hitting a target dummy for like an hour and I couldn't even tell I had a tier set on. Just a very boring and not impactful tier set. For Elemental however, spawning an elemental (fire or storm depending on talent) does work with talents like Echo of the Elementals and Elemental Unity. Proccing the tier set with an ele out will extend it, you get the haste from wind gust. The ele set is much more powerful and impactful than Dev. Then I started thinking how to make the Dev one more impactful. The 2 ideas I thought of were 1. Proccing a full rank eternity surge or fire breath in place of shattering star (maybe both). 2. Have it proc dragonrage instead of shattering star. I know dragonrage proc + dragonrage proccing another dragonrage is dumb, but proccing shattering star without proccing ES or AV is weak. Unfortunately Dev just doesn't have that deep of a kit so there really isn't much there to play with on a tier set like this.
Winning streak buffing the damage of one spell and being canceled by another can generate some degenerate gameplay in which you just don't cast the resetting ability if the number is high enough
Everything blizzard has done so far has been great for 11.1. I haven’t tested the tier sets, but it does look less involved, but I can’t say anything until I test it
These tier designs should've been an in raid buff just to spice things up and make the ACTUAL tier sets have a bigger impact on playing your character.
It sounds like they just need a way to "cash in" your winning streak. Like if your steak gets high enough you can drop a big cooldown to do something like lock it in for 15 seconds or something? For insurance you can "claim" it, etc
am i the only one who doesnt hate this? I actually think its pretty cool. It also keeps tiersets in line for every class so one isnt super bad or so good its broken. Like my shadow priest. I just get free PI? Thats fucking solid. I see so many ppl hating when 2/3rds of the sets sound super fun
100% agree about the tank proc and it not lining up at all with how tanks actually play the game. If it's not something you can rely on, it may as well not exist and it doesn't matter.
I'm actually a big fan of Arcane's new tier set. Makes our Touch windows more powerful and giving me aether attunement more often while being guaranteed at the start of my CD windows... Yes please
They could've made all roles spawn bots at 10 stacks that assist (like resto druid treants), tanks with absorbs, healers with hots, dps with dots or small dmg buffs. Would've been more interesting as it gives a little bot following you for a short time (which is a good visual as well, no need for weak auras etc..), compared to a random buff that doesn't rly do much...
I like the simple tier set bonus. Some rotations are too complicated as it is we do not need another random proc to change your gameplay. I just want to press buttons when they are not on CD. I don't want to think about which button to press.
They should: 1. Remove set bonuses 2. Stop increasing character levels every expansion 3. Make all content current. The model is make something completely new every time instead of refining what is already good. Instead of having to make up so much stuff every expansion in a timeframe, every dungeon and perhaps raid should have an option to be run now and reward loot, crests, etc. Slowly over time add new things like dungeons, expansions etc. 4. This model would make the game easier to balance due to less change 5. Previous content could have a system in place where instead of a timeframe like M+ it has no time or death limit, but is difficult. This allows a more casual and less intense approach for less serious players that allows them to: a) upgrade their current gear with crests and b) get gear they may need from previous expansion dungeons. On top of that, they get to experience the whole game. Every dungeon 6. There should be good transmog rewards in place from completing these dungeons (and raids?) and include neat achievements for mounts, even more tmogs etc 7. The content does not need to be Mythic top 1% hard, especially the raids as this will be geared towards the regular playerbase that just wants to have fun. The raids and m+ dungeons of the current expansion can be for the amazing players.
I like the general idea. It's funny how they have Timewalking, but it's...up for a limited time, and they always give you shit rewards that do not make it worth running...and yet Timewalking still has pretty decent participation, from what I can see (from queueing into it and looking in group finder etc). Like...if people are going to actually learn tactics for old raids and dungeons etc, can we just...give them good loot? Tune it appropriately (to HC and Mythic levels) and give HC and Myth track loot from old raids. People would always have raids to run throughout the week. I understand why they don't do it, 'cause balancing the old raids and potentially having to hotfix them and rebalance and balancing any items in them that might be too broken at current item levels and figuring out how we can get Great Vault loot without expanding our item pool so much that it's impossible to target items etc would be a decent bit of work (and Blizzard is literally copy-pasting tier sets now, so god knows they don't want to put in a FRACTION of the effort needed to do this), but there is a world out there where this is a reality, and it's beautiful. Classic and Classic Hardcore etc has shown that WoW players are VERY strongly cucked by nostalgia, so making old raids relevant in retail is a gold mine for Blizzard that they just neglect.
Yall think everyone should get loot at the end of an M+ dungeon? Or maybe if you time it everyone gets a piece of loot but if you dont time it only 2 random people get an item?
I dont get why didnt they do cool actives. Like throw a rocket for mega damage, or throw a bombe, drink a potion that X, they could have done this and it would have bee awesome
'cause they think that covenants failing had anything to do with it being an active ability, and not all the other massive issues surrounding the system, because they have very lackluster ability to analyze their own game and its player base, so they don't want to "repeat" that "mistake".

Bonuses shouldn’t really be a ‘gamble’. If you work hard/earn set pieces, you shouldn’t have to deal with the possibility of losing the set bonus 15% of the time. Maybe through an engineering piece, but not a set piece. A bonus should be a bonus and you shouldn’t really have to worry about that bonus being cancelled after a second.
I didnt even bother buying the expansion this time around, I could see in season 4 of dragonflight that blizzard has no clue what to do to retain its player base, and making mythic plus even more harder and one shotty really let me know not to but the dlc. Pay 50$ a year plus 140$ in sub just for 2 new raids and 8 dungeons split up into 2 different season mixed in with old dungeons are just not it. World of Warcraft cost WAY TOO much money to play for the little of content it actually offers in endgame
Im not quite there, but almost. I came back in DF season 4, and I had a blast. In TWW, I was enjoying it less, but still thought it was fun gameplay. I've just hit a breaking point recently. ive decided to take a week and play other games and see if it feels more fun when I come back (I did just do some BG's for a change of pace, and that was enjoyable). If it doesnt feel good and season two isnt better Im going to cancel my sub.

Well, seems like the World of Warcraft experience for a new era and the next 30 years ran out of steam faster than Zucc's Metaverse. I personally no longer have any emotional attachment to the game and since the coming season doesn't really have anything that makes me FOMO, I'll be happy to skip on staying subbed for the foreseeable future.
Not only that but the tier sets look beyond lazy in they're design, they look like hold over armor, they are bland with no pizazz, this is the goblin patch, so where is my rusty bolted and riveted scrap plate? Tesla coils on my shoulders arcing lightning? Boiler shaking and undulating with near exploding pressure? This armor looks like genuine questing greens and blues.....
they are not disappointing ... and blizz isn't lazy. if you don't play a lot of charakters like most players do the sets are actually pretty nice and good. only people that play many classes complain about it. lot of the sets are fun and cool. we have an awesome patch coming out way .. yet wow players, being the biggest crybabies out there just need something to complain :D
They already sacrificed the season 4 for faster development. I don't want to accept more cuts. This cut, season 4-less expansions idea will feel like just a patch to many players anyway instead of a real expansion already. Patch cycles instead of eras. This is my general perspective, I'm atm not that negative, but these are facts what you are saying and pointing out here.

I actually like them. Back in BFA and Shadowlands there were zero class-themed sets, only patch themed, and they are some of the least memorable sets ever. I do agree that I wish they were a bit more goblin themed though.

Its great! WoW is bloated with talents, builds(even PER boss), stats, deminishing returns, WAY too many abilities and spells… even off-game, like ui, addons, macro’s. Srsly needs te be easier to get new players to stick around… its near hopeless now. Next step is shadowlands talent system back!
The Tier sets are UGLY especially for the Warlock and the Mage and pries, UGLY outfits, They have NO imagination. I would fire all of the DEVS who designed them and get people who have a Expansive Imagination.

i dont think anyone is going to track the tier set for melee. mostly because it is not worth tracking, its juts a boring flat damage increase
why they not make tierset mechagnome 8.2 abilitys idk dk have robotic buffs on weapon like idk inpower ur pet with bolts to atack faster and stronger

If they sold the tier sets for cash in the cash shop they wouldn't suck....
11.1 is the worst patch in a long time. they are gutting so many specs along with the set bonuses
Welcome to goblin technology, great benefit but bad draw backs. It's not gnomish technology where it always works. This sounds just like goblin tech. Am I wrong? Or has ever goblin technology been like this? I mean I get it, it's not fun but this is a goblin theme expansion. This season screams rng.
Its great! WoW is bloated with talents, builds(even PER boss), stats, deminishing returns, WAY too many abilities and spells… even off-game, like ui, addons, macro’s. Srsly needs te be easier to get new players to stick around… its near hopeless now. Next step is shadowlands talent system back!

The Tier sets are UGLY especially for the Warlock and the Mage and pries, UGLY outfits, They have NO imagination. I would fire all of the DEVS who designed them and get people who have a Expansive Imagination.
