I love that the write-up calls it a "lackluster concept vehicle". Poor Hell's Horses Science Caste. Their leadership is cursed with the smoothest brains of all the Clans.
Hello CR. I played around with this tank, once I had captured one in a IS v Clan battle. I had started with an Enyo LBX variant, which was badly damaged. I ended up putting a HAG-40 into the turret, a single ER Med Laser on each side, and four tons of ammo for the Hag inside the body. Armor: Front: 46, Sides: 38, Rear: 30, Turret: 40. (Total of 10 tons of armor, 192 our of 232 max). There is also a Light Active Probe located in the vehicle's front. Movement is 5/8/0 hexes. I was NOT trying to 'min/max' the vehicle, but I happened to trade for a HAG-40 with another player, and had it when I got my hands on the LBX variant Enyo Tank. I admit the HAG-40 is a bite of 'overkill' for the most part. The few times I have fielded my variant, it ends up the immediate target of every Enemy Mech on the field. Believe me, paying for an 'ace' gunner for the tank is well worth the BV cost! A few times I have 'head shot' Mechs at maximum range with that HAG-40, and even the 'failed' attempts have cored Mechs, or made them very vulnerable to follow up shots by my Mech forces. The basic Enyo is not all that bad, although badly drawn. The LBX AC variant is pretty good as well.
The art doesn't help a lot of vehicles and 'mechs in later TRO's sadly because some of them have great loadouts. Rule of cool visually always helps with players making their choices for combat.
@@CriticalRocket : Rule of cool is fine, but Catalyst really should hire artists to 're-do' all the artworks for all the vehicles and Mechs, and perhaps 'update' the looks of the Battle Armor as well.
I think it looks pretty cool, myself. And it's a solid middleweight brawler. As long as you can at least get into the range of that nuclear powered strobe light it will make it's presence known. In urban environments where it can hit and run at close range those eighteen tubes of guided kaboom are going to be nasty. Alternatively, in more open terrain you could pair it with a more long ranged vehicle, using the pulse to swat fast attackers and the missiles to discourage closer approaches.
One of my favorite tanks to use for the Hell's Horses. The base version is quite scary, though it can be hard to justify spending that much BV on a vehicle. I also like the later version with hardened armor. That one is a bit slower and has worse weapons, but it's much cheaper and the hardened armor lets it stick around much longer than a 55 ton vehicle has any right to. As far as the actual model goes, it's somewhat better proportioned than the art, with the turret slightly smaller compared to the body of the vehicle.
My absolute favorite clan tank. fast enough to get just about anywhere with surprisingly decent armor for it's tonnage. additionally since a pair of clan tanks replace a mech point in a star 2 of these things running together absolutely wreck whatever they run into.
The Tyr (last week) has 1xERL Laser, 2xStreak-4, 5xElementals and is quicker. The Enyo here has 1xLP-Laser, 3xStreak-6 and is a bit tougher. There's a lot of capability overlap but enough that sets them apart. 😎
Being both tradtional and radical in design, it's very visually appealing. Give it an update in scale and update the turret a little, it would both be good on the table and a miniature.
The Enyo is a solid main battle tank in my opinion. Though I think I like the LBX variant a bit more. Sure you lose the Clan LPL, but you get a plasma cannon, LB10X, and a SRM6 in the turret. That can do a lot of hurt.
The visuals *say* that these tanks would dwarf modern vehicles, but uh... An Abrams MBT clocks in around 60 tons. Don't ask a man his salary, a woman her age, or Battletech developers where they get their numbers from.
This tank looks like an angry armadillo with a cannon that's trying to prove itself.
Trying to prove it's got something anyway
I approve of this new Cylon tank.
I love that the write-up calls it a "lackluster concept vehicle".

Looks almost like a BSG reboot Cylon vehicle with the central visor like windscreen and the smooth back of the LPL(C).

Reminds me of one of those 'brain bugs' from "Starship Troopers"
They sucked his brains out.

The higher BV is a sticking point but sometimes you want to theme your force and just go with the higher cost for the style :)

A strong argument that the TRO is right, XL technology is a good fit for a vehicle, arguably better used there than a mech.
Can you do more clan combat vehicles; Epona Persuit Vehicle is pretty cool, omni for carrying elementals.

No one else noticed that all 3 streak 6 launchers have 5 tubes?
Also dont forget this tanks musical cousin Inna
haha how I did I not link the musical aspect :D
I count 6 tubes on all but the left one, but it's blocked by the hull.
Looks like it’s back heavy. Like it would tip backwards on a steep hill or if it went flat out from a standstill.

Very true.
