Didnt have one in the 70s..but got 3 now..have them in back room on show and just sit there admiring them...works of art..the 70s were great times..kids have all the technology now but I wouldn't swap my times as a kid when I grew up..great video

Immediately it took me back to my childhood and standing in our family home's garage admiring my brothers chopper and wishing I had one. I live in New Zealand and are 62 years old now so thanks again for the memories as my brothers was the same colour as yours.

I got one for my 11th birthday exactly like your. I had a couple of grifters latter on. Used one to go to work until I was 17 and could used my DT175mx. Well I have a immaculate DT250mx in my garage again and I’m back in the same house. I bought it back. I’ve just started to restore a grifter mk2 I really need a red mk2 chopper in my garage Well done a loverly job. I’m a little bit jealous.

@@ZosoHacker you would be impressed with my grifter It looks like it’s spent the last forty years in the canal I’ll take it apart today order all the parts tonight hopefully I’m going to fit it in between jobs and paint it this week. Cheers check out a couple of my videos
@@ZosoHacker the thing you’ll appreciate is when I bought it home I did exactly what you did put it in the kitchen. To look at. My wife took one look , and said Why, my 10 year old daughter took one look said it’s fantastic. She could see through 40 years of grime. So I gave it to her. Now I need a mk 2 red chopper.
If you look VERY carefully at 4:24, the "Toblerone" stand insert falls on the road because I hadn't put the stand in. Didn't even know it was missing until I saw it at the side of the road 2 weeks later. DOH!! Rookie error.

@ ah ok many thanks I will at least try to follow your instructions. I do however have severe learning disabilities and cannot easily do things like that. Soooo, in future will you please take this into account and slow things down for people like me???

The other thing to yearn for at Christmas, when the first Raleigh Chopper came out, was a Johnny Seven, sadly I got neither, only an etch a sketch.

Hahaha - yeah still got it. It’s on a stand in my living room covered in fairy lights. It was my Christmas tree last year 😂😂
