- A bit of a sloppy battle. I wanted to finish it with an MA, but my Ravenous went a little crazy and casted Meteor Storm which ended things pretty quick. Oh well. There's no way I'm climbing those ridiculously long stairs to fight this ugly thing again.
Second playthrough; Mania difficulty.

Nether Traitor, Lion Heart, Warrior's Bandana, and Star Breaker for Emil. Fairy Tale, Master Mind, and Healer's Ribbon for Marta.
t's called the Soul Blast and you can get it by defeating the Phoenix at the top of the Balacruf Mausoleum. You'll receive the Balacruf Symbol, which you'll need to insert into two holes in the Underground Ruins. After doing this you'll find the Soul Blast in a chest.

Twilight Palace can be completed within an hour if I remember correctly. Most of the time is spent climbing these obnoxiously long winding stairs.
Gladsheim on the other hand can be four to six hours depending on how (un) lucky you are. If you don't know the dungeon mechanics it would take even longer.
Hey Pikohan, I heard that Gladsheim was ridiculously long. How was Twilight Palace?

@ISMASHYOUBRO The Ability Plus skills let you chain together artes like that. Yes, this is a totally optional sidequest.
Marta's Roaring Phoenix.
Technical 3 skill. Found on the Healer's Ribbon for Marta and the Star Breaker glove for Emil. Both can be found in Twilight Palace.

Was just wondering... Is Hima the only place you can get monsters that get to level 200?
It shows at the end of the video that I have the Soul Blast equipped for Emil. Marta has Retribution equipped. You get both of these weapons by using the Balacruf Symbol in the Underground Ruins.

@BlackRoseLvlX Took my Ravenous through the Grave Digger evolution line which is where it picked up the spell.
Ah never mind, I beat Album Atrum :) Unfortunately, I have to beat him again on the 3rd playthrough to keep Nether Traitor :(
Random question: Do you get to access the grade shop after you beat the game a 2nd time?
The best weapons are the Nether Traitor for Emil which you get upon the completion of this dungeon, and Kismet for Marta which the boss of Gladsheim has a chance of dropping.
Twilight Palace doesn't appear on the map, you can get there by accepting a quest at the Katz Guild. You have to complete specific quests in earlier chapter before you can unlock this one.
As for the Philosopher's Stone, I have no idea. Try the guides at GameFAQs.
No, all that is required is that you finish those three specific quests. Not sure why it isn't appearing.
By farm, they just mean defeat it over and over again to get the item.
When I beat this guy on Normal, I was around level 65. HUGE mistake. The battle literally took me over an hour, and I had to use around 12 life bottles and all my gels.

@PikohanRevenge Thanks - I have another question: I'm on chapter seven but I haven't ever done this sidequest. Will I still have access to the first part of the twilight palace from ch. 5? Are past sidequests from prev. chapters available in later chapters if they were never completed? And one last question: where do i find a strong bone? I heard the cross bone drops it...where's the cross bone?
I know I asked a lot but I hope you can respond sometime soon; I've been playing the sequel lately.

You can use up to 8 shortcuts in this game. It's pretty awesome.

It would probably work, but those monsters cap at level 100.Using monsters that cap at 200 makes life much easier.
Emil doesn't have accelerate in this battle.
Most of the skills you should have are on the weapons you pick up in this dungeon. The Speed Cast skills for Marta are probably going to help the most.
Mind Slicer has 357 physical attack and the Soul Blast has 412 physical attack. The Soul Blast is quite a bit better.
Play the entire game on Mania and beat the game. You have to set the difficulty at the very beginning of the game before you enter any battle, and you can't change the difficulty during the course of the game or else you won't be able to unlock it.
During each chapter of the game starting at # 2 you have the option to do the Katz' quests, if you do the one for each chapter called the treasure hunter one, you'll eventually get one at chapter 8 that takes you here.

Then you have it unlocked. If you're playing on a New Game +, go to the menu and scroll down to System. Select Options and under Battle Rank you can change the difficulty to whatever you wish.

It looks like you have accelerate (because of those combos in the air) even though Soul Blast doesn't have accelerate. What skills would you recommend equipping?
Complete the Special rank battle in the colosseum with Emil.
@PikohanRevenge Hmm... I figured that was the case. Well no biggie I'll just replay it again. I just started playing the game after a year long hiatus at the same ch, 7. I don't remember a lot of the plot so I guess restarting would be a good move but with most exp points via grade etc lol.

@ISMASHYOUBRO You've missed it. The necessary quests start in chapter five and need to be completed in their respective chapter.
Check the monster guides at GameFAQs for monster locations.
You'll only have access to the Balacruf Mausoleum if you trigger the Richter sidequest. GameFAQs has some great walkthroughs and guides that should be able to help you out.
You can do the final part anytime in chapter eight, IIRC. Are you sure completed all of the three required quests before chapter eight? If so, you should trying clearing quests until the final Twilight Palace quest appears.
Somehow, I beat this while level 87 with 2 level 100 monsters and a level 88 Marta. Except it was on hard not mania. Are you battling on normal, hard, or mania?
Yes, I'm sure, I completed the other three quests (which started at Ch.5.) I completed the other regular quests, but it never showed up. Am I supposed to finish the other quests before Ch.8?

I did everything right in the "Twilight Palace" quests but the final part doesn't show up in chapter 8. Do I have to go to the Katz Guild before Emil and Marta go see the group on top of the Lezorano HQ building?
It's not, that was Soul Blast.
You can find monsters that have the potential to get to level 200 in nearly every dungeon. Check the monster guide at gamefaqs if you want to know which evolutionary paths can produce level 200 monsters.
It's part of the ghost evolution line. Can't really remember the exact pathway. Try the monster guide at gamefaqs.
