This video is on repeat, and I can't stop tearing up as I relive it over and over again. Matt is so special. He never asks for anything. He works hard every day, never complains and just blows me out of the water to show his love. You gave this gift to him and us, and we're so so grateful. You are truly the best. For those who think Sara is pushing some sort of "gay agenda," you're wrong. The fact is her fans, gay and straight, have known about this song for close to a year now, and they've been using it in weddings and proposals. And they've been sharing their I Choose You stories with her on Facebook, Twitter, etc. So this video is the result of those experiences bubbling up from her fans. Face it: gay people like the same music as straight people. Maybe, oh maybe, because they're not all that different to you?

mysticsmb, maybe. But Sara didn't have to use one of each couple. That's where the agenda comes in. I love the song, but she needs to leave that kind of stuff out of it. God says quite clearly in the Bible that homosexuality is wrong, and He won't continue blessing a country that deliberately disobeys Him. I think the music video should have stuck to the old-fashioned kind of couple: one man, one woman. Simple. That's my opinion on the matter. Not saying I hate or judge gay people. I love them and pray for them, and realize their backgrounds might be hard. But they're fighting their God-given hormones to feel attracted to the same sex, and I can never support that kind of proposal. But if you call me a "hater" by saying this, then you're wrong and twisting my words. This is a country where you can express your opinions without backlash, as I respect yours.

I’m walking down the aisle to this in Feb! It took us ages to find the right song. Too many of them are only about the fantasy of love. This song is so much more grounded - “we are not perfect, we’ll learn from our mistakes... I am under prepared but I am willing”. I feel like so many weddings are about the fantasy of love and what they hope marriage will be. But I feel that acknowledging that it will be hard and that you’ll make mistakes, but you choose it anyway, and choose it again every day, is far more romantic than any fantasy ever could be. I also love how upbeat and joyful it is.
Then I looked up her other work and Oh. My. GOD!! Think I may ditch the fella and spend the rest of my life following her around instead. What an incredible voice! Such technique too. Have you heard chandelier? Good Lord!!!

I am amazed that in this day and age there are still so many bigoted, prejudiced, ignorant and intolerant people. I would think that as a society we have come far enough for the equitable treatment of all to be commonplace, yet I still see many people spewing hateful, ignorant and intolerant comments on what should be a beautiful thing. I don't even care for the song particularly, but that is on its merits musically rather than some ideological difference with the content of the video. It's time to move forward people.
For the people that constantly use the bible as a reason to speak out against homosexuality, it may benefit you to actually do some research into what the bible REALLY says regarding it. This page ( www.libchrist.com/other/homosexual/pederasty.html ) has a good summary of what I am referring to, yet I urge you to look up the topic of bible/homosexuality/pederasty yourselves so that you can't say well, that is just one persons interpretation etc.. Look up the original terms used in the bible and the definition of those terms as well as the connotation that they held at that time as we all know sometimes the dictionary definition is not the most commonly accepted meaning at a period in time. I am a straight christian and I hate to constantly see this logic for often bigoted/prejudicial behaivor, if people want to say "I just don't like gay people", I would at least take that as being an honest response rather than hiding behind the response of "the bible says it's wrong". Before you flame me in response to my post, take the time to actually do a little research first and see what I am talking about.
At 58 after hearing and seeing "I Choose You" Sara I can say miracle makers like you make it all worthwhile. I didn't die of the "widow maker" heart attack 3 months after i re-married to the love of my life in 1999. Your energy is special, my daughter turned me on to "Brave"...keep going, i'll do the same:)
