I cry every time I listen to this song. I'm a man, 61 years old, and this speaks to my child within , my little Kevin who never felt good enough. I'm so grateful for this song. I just watched the video for the first time and it hit me even harder. Bravo.
Me too. 65 here, male. I like people because of who they are, not their appearance. I think that young girls these days (my young daughter, was blessed with her late in my life, seems to have listened to me on this, to an extent) think they know what men 'want', but they really don't. We aren't all monsters. We sure don't all like one 'type'.
I saw a photo of you. You are very handsome. It is amazing how our past traumas distort the way we see ourselves. PTSD is real on every level. Words can destroy.
It's 2022 and still relevant . This song helps me so much to cope with social anxiety . I mean, look at us nowadays . Too much pressure from society and peers. To be 'perfect' or just like the material person they wanted. This song makes me burst out into tears and make me realize, " do i even like myself? "
I used to have social anxiety. What helped me was working in restaurants and coffee shops and just completely immersing yourself in social situations until you realize that there is nothing to be scared of. I’m still shy around new people though, but made huge strides. You can do it :)
This made me tear up. I sent it to my daughter in law. She never thinks she isn't enough but I always tell her what an amazing woman and mom she is. Thank you for this song.
I love how her as a celebrity did this. Not just make the other girls in the video. She put herself out there showing she really cares. She was willing to make her self vulnerable to MAKE A POINT
That’s why i appreciate my wife - we’ve been married for over 10 years and i have always preferred her makeup-free look… Never could get used to her makeup actually! 😘
9 years later and this message is still needing to be heard. It's getting worse still. Please if you're reading this, remember: you ARE enough for the ones who truly matter. Love yourself and give yourself grace.
I think it’s a great message for guys as well. Girls aren’t the only ones dealing with self worth. Lots of guys are dicks but we struggle and we go through problems I know for me I feel like I’m not good enough whenever my best friends end up leaving. I know now that I’m enough for the ones that do stay.
I don’t care if I’m a guy, but for someone who lost weight, worked out, and changed my image for someone, this song really hits me. I cried when I heard this song because it reminded me of my past self. I wanted to tell myself that I should be doing these things for myself, and that looks are not everything. Everyone who is going through self-image and self-worth issues really need to listen to this song
I also burst into tears when I listened to it and translated it. A song with a good and important meaning. I also worry about my appearance and this song was close to me. I'm sorry if it's not written very well, I'm not good at English.
I remember when this song came out. I was around 13 years old and i remember crying to it. It actually helped my self-esteem in those times. So nearly a decade later, thanks Colbie Caillat!
This song had me in tears after years of hating myself and being self conscious and trying to change myself. Shocking how much a song can influence you. Honestly a absolutely amazing song for anyone struggling
I say more people, women, and men try far too hard and face the consequences. How many people kill themself one way or the other. Please stop hurting each other physically and mentally. Many people don't know how devastating mental abuse can be for each of us.
I didn't know about this song until I saw it on Facebook reels and I'm loving it 😩. She sang it 8 years ago but the lyrics talks about what's happening now.
I think it has been always happening, from the dawn of humanity, just with different things that people at the time considered necessary to fit in the standard...
I heard this song for the first time tonight and it brought me to tears. I'm a father of a 12 year old boy that is going through a lot of "body" issues, for lack of a better word. This video/song is such an incredibly powerful voice to explain something I've been trying to convey for years.
U simply being there with him during that process and understanding everything or trying at least and support him its already enough, being a kid these days is a nightmare, its a crime how bad this world treats their kids, how hard their lives simply become soo hard in such a young age !!!
so do i and its very strong and meaning full for both genders girls don't need to use a lot of makeup they just have to been them selves just like guys don't have to gussy up or do anything special just be your self
One month ago on the 12 of November I was done trying to be pretty, it was so hard and I still got bullied. I had the pills in my hand. I wanted to listen to a song right before I took my life. I went on TH-cam and this song popped up. I clicked on it and while I was writing my suicide note I really listened to the song. I crumpled up the note. I threw away the pills. This song saved a life. Thank you. I listen to this song every day to help me stay confident and to keep the bullying away. (:
I just listened to this song last night and it speaks very much my situation now I believe in myself and want to listen to that little voice in my heart that says “everything is ok don’t try hard to change things that don’t serve me” ❤
I was bullied because of having dark skin, i moved to canada. i lived in Philippines. People we’re judging me for the way i look. but this song inspires me to try to get up and dont let the people stop me from being who i am 😊
I recorded a Growning Up darkskin video on youtube and I got more feedback than I expected. It takes time to learn to accept your self, but God makes no mistakes. I'm STILL learning to accept myself.💞
Same here. I just knew this song from a short video. I found the lyrics so meaningful and then I searched for this official MV. This one is really touching.
The last part "Do you like you? Cuz I like you. " Got me. I may only be in middle school but people can be really mean. I have self confidence issues and this song helps so thank you for that
I completely understand what you are dealing with. Middle schoolers can be extremely mean. I am currently in high school but dealt with a lot in middle school. Just remember that you are beautiful despite what others might say.
I'm in high school too, and I'm grateful for it... I remember bad episodes in middle school, which fortunately don't happen anymore. I have also learned to not care what other people think, because I'm unique in my being and, if I don't suit others, I don't care. Because we are all wonderful, in our little defects and in everything that characterizes us❤️❤️💪🏻🔥
You shouldnt! Im sure youre perfect just the way you are... This is the world that gets a real problem.. tearing people down using their low self esteem againt themselves... Love You, your flaws, your mistakes, every scars in and out for it is who you really are
I agree with you fully! Too many people focus on being this perfect person. It's not who they are. Songs like this tell them they dont have to. People will accept them for who they are. Flaws and all.
2018. Every time I listen to this song, right after, I walk up to my mirror and say 'I like you.' To all of you, love yourself. Because you are unique and beautiful. Without makeup, even with that messy hair of yours. You're beautiful, always. Believe in yourself, dear. Don't you like you? Cause I like you. ❤️
@@itsyaboiskinnypenis620 I'm sure you're beautiful! We're all beautiful in our own ways. Our flaws may bother us, but think about it, they make us who we are.
@@yildirimx9229 stop hating! sometimes they're forced to do those things or they do those things because they're insecure or they have depression...like one of the members got hated on and called "fat" he even called himself a "pig" and starved himself because he's anorexic...so don't go around saying stuff like that... because you don't know anything about their personal life!..and also stop saying those things because that can't be proved true because those are just RUMORS..😑
This hits REALLY HARD. I've been planning surgeries like a nose job, BBL, and skin whitening, desperately seeking validation. I believed altering my appearance would make me worthy of love and not just a second option. These feelings cause from years of internalizing societal expectations and personal experiences of rejection. Societal pressures have amplified these insecurities, making me feel I need to change who I am to be loved. It's sparked my journey of self-discovery and healing, encouraging me to challenge the idea that my value depends on others' perceptions.
I always coated my face in makeup and cared what everyone thought and then I found out someone from my school was making fun of my instagram pictures and showing other people then blocked me so I couldn't talk to them and they are in a different class than me so I could never talk to them and I was so upset about some of the things they were saying and then I listened to this song and I starting crying this song makes me so happy and it is so encouraging I love it so much thank you Colbie Callat.!
Sunshine Cutie HEY YOU YEAH YOU!!!!! The same thing happened to me and I know I probably should not have done this but I did I beat her pretty little face up!!!! Yeah let's see who looks pretty now but some advice you are something nobody else can be YOU and YOU is the most wonderful person you can be!!! I know I beat this. Girl up but I wasn't so smart then she got plastic surgery after and.......it just made it. Worse so just listen you are smart independent brave strong and beutiful just the way you are love yourself be yourself!!! 🙂
Sunshine Cutie cheer up! I never tried to fit in when I was a teen.my parents can't afford things that weren't in trend and I never asked because I was grateful for what i had. I had acne and never wore makeup until 12th grade.didnt have a phone until 11th grade. Had one or two friends but never talked deeply or hung out with. People never really cared because they all had their social cliques. I was the odd one out. Didn't participate in anything, wasn't athletic, emo, smart, couldn't connect with anyone. Didn't care what anyone thought, didn't let my parents worry and I graduated and moving on to my college life just pursuing what I love because at the end of the day you love yourself! Yes I had insecurities, people looked at me poorly, always asked me are you okay. I always answered I was okay and deep down I wasnt. I didn't even try belonging into because I didn't wanna be fake. So it takes time too!take care of youself!♡
Wow….I have 5 daughters and with the 2/3rd we listened to and sang along to Colbie Caillat, Michelle Branch and their like. This is a very touching video and song for it is what my wife and daughters sometimes feel they have to do. They are always enough the way they are. I wish they could feel and understand that. Love this song.
Just found this on Facebook and had to pop on and share so my followers could watch this - actually brought a tear to my eye - beautiful, thank you! xxx
My mom used to play this song for me when I was younger to show me that i don't need to change myself for the appeal of others Edit: quit trauma dumping, there’s a difference between sharing experiences and sharing for the pity of others
Well said! Adding on to your point, I think this world needs one thing: acceptance- accepting people of different cultures/countries and accepting people for who they are and who they want to be
Allan Tsai thank you for that, Mainly because I'm kind of afraid to be myself in public because I'm not entirely... "normal" I don't fit into the crowd but Im not sad by that mainly because there really is no "crowd" it is just society.
Underrated song. This deserves way more attention. This song always makes me cry because of how much I can relate to it and it will always have a very special place in my heart 💜 ❤
The song makes me in tears. Even I am not struggle anything in appearance but it’s still so relatable. I’ve always trying to prove myself in abilities but there are people always better and smarter. You don’t need to try so hard you don’t need to give it all the way…the lyrics really gets me. Makes me realize I need to chase my dreams instead of comparing and care what other people think of me.
It actually brought tears to my eyes too. I don't struggle with being perfect anymore buy I used to and it consumed me. I feel such sadness for those that haven't yet come to terms with who they are and struggle everyday to be "perfect"
same here I'm also always trying to prove myself in abilities, particularly intelligence... I've learned to ask questions when I don't know something but I still get really frustrated and feel like a failure when I can't figure things out
Just sent this to my sweet daughter who is 20 and struggling emotionally- her name is Kaycee - please add her to your prayer list and be in unity with me to cover her in prayer. This is an ugly world that has a sweet soul fighting to survive it. Much love, Her momma.
I probably won't pray for her cause I'm not religious but either way I'll send her much much love. She should remember that she's beautiful even if everyone else think she's not ♡
@@tami7992 Positive vibes, good energy, prayers or sending love is all appreciated and accepted no matter which is sent 🥰 Thank you for taking the time to write and be so kind 🙃
I went through a hard time with depression and bad self esteem.(I was only even 12) I hated the way I looked and always tried to go the extra mile, all the other girls were, and I felt it never did anything. My grandma showed me this song during that time 3 years ago and ever since then I've done things for me and how I'm thriving. Never forget who you truly are and take care of yourself babes❤
I completely understand what you said. People say just be yourself. But it is so much harder than that. Having been bullied for my appearance I ended up changing my self throughout upper elementary and middle school. This song and your comment has helped remind me that I shouldn’t let others define me. You are strong and beautiful despite what others might say.
I’m glad I found this comment, because I also went through the same thing at a very young age. Believe it or not that makes us strong for having to carry so much. I really hope u are doing fine now, take care💖.
Just hearing this song for the first time today by chance only a week and a half after having to have all my teeth removed and immediate run-of-the-mill dentures because of pregnancy/birthing/nursing and medical neglect/malpractice for 14 years (I’m only 30). 🪞🫣🫥🧘🏻♀️😮💨🪞🙂🥹☺️😊🥰 I will be making this song part of my morning/daily routine and teach my daughter the lyrics so she can sing along and watch her face when one day when it all hits home when she needs it most. 🥹 So simple, so beautifully done, so powerful! Thank you, Colbie Caillat!
All the people in this video are so beautiful. I am in my late 50s and just in the last few years have started to accept myself. My "flaws" in how I look and what I do and have done with my life is all shown through those imperfections I have always tried so hard to change.
As a grown man, with two young daughters, and a beautiful wife, I think every single one of these women look so much more beautiful as themselves. I LOVE that my wife doesn't do tons of makeup and stuff. I've had girlfriends that did before, and now that I've been with my wife for 10+ years, I'm so glad she's not like that. I love her natural beauty and hair. Men need to stop wanting airbrushed, fake women, and recognize the Goddesses standing in front of them for what they are.
Same here - I’m lucky that my wife is a natural beauty and that’s what made me fall for her in the first place... And I totally cannot get used to her in makeup! 😘

Here we are, listening to a song that urges us not to hate ourselves, and we have people comparing these women. I WISH songs like these could change the world, but the fact is that people will be mean whether you're natural, dolled up, or something in between. You just have to do what the hell you want to do, and say screw everyone else. Want to be bare-faced and not comb your hair? Do it, and be super confident! Want to beat the hell out of your face and throw on a wig? Do it, and be super confident!
I'm with a pal. I rlly want these songs about boys judging women to change de world forever. And songs that this was about, u don't have to try to be beautiful cuz u already are. No Matter how u look ur beautiful.
Aaliyah duh don't think your ugly even I don't know how you look I'm sure you look beautiful and nobody's ugly every one is beautifully no matter what and I mean it from my heart,🙂🙂🙂🙂
I think it's sad that so many people are missing the point. The message isn't that you shouldn't try at all in life. It's that you shouldn't try to be someone you're not, or feel the need to cover up and add fake things in order to feel like you're beautiful. If you ask a lot of women, they're going to tell you that they don't feel pretty without makeup, or hair extensions, or fancy clothing, or fake nails, or a plethora of other things that society deems necessary for a woman to be considered attractive. THAT is what this video is addressing. It's not saying "Don't exercise!", "Don't work hard in life!", or "Don't try to be the best person you can be!" It's saying "Love the skin you're in without needing all of the additives to make yourself feel pretty! You're beautiful as you are, and the only approval you should need to feel attractive, is your own!" The point is that women should love themselves naturally, and feel comfortable not having to put on a different face in order for the world to accept them.
you don't HAVE to try. you CAN if you WANT to, but it's not an OBLIGATION. Far out, some people are just looking into this lovely genuine message wayyy to much.
As a male going through therapy, constantly insecure about my body image, self doubts and worrying what people might think about me, this song resonates to me a lot too. 😊 Not a chick song at all, in the best meaning possible of the slang. 👏 Thanks, Colbie. ❤
if you recognise that chick is a gross way to describe women then why use it. you dont get brownie points for recognising but not changing your behaviour
@@communist_oranges Same as calling a guy a dude. I have friends that are female that call refer to each other as chick all the time, so it's really down to if you specifically are trying to make it condescending or not. My own wife calls herself chick, so it's perfectly fine to some ladies to use the term.
I'm a transgender woman Mt f I was constantly worried about what people thought of me, I hear my voice but others hear female, this song had helped me through a major depression that I never wanted to be live if had to live in this body, thanks collie for your song, I don't have to try be me because this is me as I am a woman and of ppl don't like it then they can leave me alone

I've overcome my appearance anxiety, and can finally fully embrace my looking now. Suffering from self-criticism and take others' mocking too seriously can really distort one's personality, and destroy his or her mental condition. When I was listening to this song, I couldn't help but shed tears. Yeah, knowing how to cherish, trust and rely on ourselves is a valuable ability. Others' opinions and suggestions should only be viewed as recommendation, it's me that decide to take it or not, and only I can define the value of those words. Sincerely, I wish myself had got this point earlier.
I'd never even heard of this song before my 13 year old daughter told me she's doing her first contemporary solo to it. Awesome message and it's still resonating.
Its crazy how its blown up after so many years, really shows that as women we're finally starting to accept and love ourselves and each other. I love u all my ladies
This came out when I was 15 being severely bullied in school and trying so hard to fit in. This helped me so much. The 'do you like you' really hit me because I was always caring about if other people liked me or what they thought about me that I never stopped and thought about myself. This video helped me so much and I know its helped so many other women ❤
Are you okay? I got bullied too. Please forgive them they don't know they do. Alice you are fearfully and wonderfully made. God loves you. DO you know Jesus Christ, He died for your sins. He loves you.
This song has made me realize that I shouldn't do my make up and hair for the people around me but for myself. I always gets comments as in: "Who are you trying to impress." And my answer will always be the same; "Me."
UNi you're perfect like you are. Don't be sad because even if I don't know you and you don't know me, I LOVE YOU LIKE YOU ARE. Don't change anything and live !❤
I found this song today on Instagram , it has so powerful message and not only for girls. Take care of yourself, take care of your mental health and well-being, and don't forget that everyone is unique 💙
Ladies always remember this:Making yourself beautiful is not you. you are you. you are the beautiful just the way you are. if you hate yourself don't hate yourself. be nice to everyone. if everyone hates you about how you look, just ingnore them and say to yourself"I am beautiful just the way I am. i don't care if anyone that bullies me doesn't know I am beautiful just I am".
Disagreed with the 'making yourself beautiful is not you' part. I think if wearing make up makes you happy, feel free. Just dont feel forced to 'become pretty' for someone, or society. Be however you want, and that includes making efforts to transform into your ideal self. If that requires some make up or stuff like that, so be it?

I'm a Trans boy... and yeah it feels so good to hear this song, even if this was made more for girls. But I think there a so many people that aren't girls who need to hear this too.
Spread the message. To the person that stays home from school because they’re too depressed to get out of bed, I love you To the person stand in front of the mirror, unable to fight tears as they criticize every inch, I love you. To the person who can’t keep there dinner down because they only lost 2 pounds, I love you To the person who cry on the cold tiles of they bathroom floor with a razor in there hand, I love you To the person that wear long sleeves in the middle of August to cover all their scars, I love you To the person who pop a hand full of pills just to feel normal, I love you To the person who drowned there feeling in a bottle of booze, I love you To the person who watches the person fell in love with someone else, I love you To the person who parents tell them they not good enough, I love you To the person who lock them self in there room whenever mom/Dad have been drinking, I love you To the person who won’t go home because your mom and dad kept fighting , I love you To the person who won’t go home because they afraid to get yell at, I love you To the person who feel hopeless and planning to take your life, I love you And to you!!! Who is reading this who ever you may be. remember you are put on this earth for a reason. And there is always someone out there who love you (even if it’ onlys me)
I always feel like I'm hopless stupid worthless ugly idiot freak monster and I just wanna stop the scars that grow I'm Abused Bullied Wanted kicked out of house Hated
Danielle Thomson I’ve felt that exact way and I’ve been through everything on that list, one day your gonna get what you deserve, you deserve more and your worthy.
This is a song that resonates with everyone, but from a guy's perspective, it's incredibly powerful. We often feel the pressure to be strong, stoic, and always in control. This song reminds us that it's okay to let go, to show our vulnerabilities, and to simply be ourselves. It's a beautiful message of self-acceptance and embracing your true self, imperfections and all.
I've always judged myself so much. I can't post a picture without thinking about it for an hour and then taking it down for any single flaw that I find. I can't seem to accept myself for who I am. I thought that if I tried harder on my looks I would feel better but I don't. I also worry so much about what people think of me, my friends try to make me feel better but it doesn't help. I feel so annoyed of myself and hate how I hurt my mom because I feel this way. People do compliment me but I can never believe them , it is so hard. I hate how I have never talked to a guy and it's stupid but I care. Not a single one. I know it shouldn't make me feel ugly but it does. I spread positivity to others and try to make everyone feel happy and I feel dumb because I can't even do that for myself. 2018- Wow I thought my comment would get lost among the rest, but I received so many positive responses. Thank you so much, people like you all make the world a better place. For those who mentioned they feel the same, remember you don’t have to try ! It’s honestly still difficult to accept my flaws but I’m doing much better than before. Please remember that you’re all so wonderful and beautiful. It may be hard to accept it , but I promise you that you are. 💛
I used to be like you and it really hurt me and my confidence , I was a completely different person at home than I was in school , I never talked to boys and my mom felt sad because I felt this way and only had one friend , and I never used to smile I thought it made my mouth look big and that my teeth had big gaps in them , and I was bullied constantly and told I was ugly . Until one day a couple days before school started , I said screw it ! I went to school and was this crazy person who smiled all the time who talked to boys and didn't care about the consequences ,I LOVED myself ,this half black half white girl with dull dark mid length brown hair and , small , almost black , dark brown eyes that can bore you to death , a small nose and big lips , that's how i used to see myself , I looked in the mirror again and saw this tan girl with perfectly cut hair and small , yet not too small, doe eyes ,and long lashes , which held innocence which made me more attractive, a small nose puffed cheeks and perky full lips and a square jaw line and a butt chin , which I used to hate but now love , I got more friends people loved the new me , and they were surprised to say the least I got more friends and was rendered attractive , turns out , it wasn't until I loved every square inch of my body that people loved me and admired me for my confidence which is now my most noticeable trait
As a teenage female, I can relate to this statement. My parents always say “it not important, you can worry about your body appearance later”. But the thing is, I am starting to care about all the pimples, my cuts, my bruises, the list just goes on. I love the message to people (not just people who identify and female) can relate to.
You are a beautiful young woman, and every woman can relate to what you’re saying as well when we were your age. Not even just at your age did I feel that way, sometimes I still do and I am 30! Sorry for the random comment, but I was having a rough day and was singing this in my head so I came to watch the video & wanted to let you know things will get better, you’re loved, and worthy of happiness ❤ Only thing that worries me is the “cuts” comment… I really hope you’re not doing anything to harm yourself. You do not deserve that.
@@MedusasDaughter3 thanks so much ❤️❤️❤️ and yes I have suffered from cutting myself and having trouble with my anger towards myself. I am in a better place now. ❤️❤️❤️
Even at 30 this song hits hard. I've always struggled with self esteem and the expectations of how women should look and the effort they are expected to put in to 'look good' are just as bad now, if not worse, as they were when I was a teen. I also love that she included women of all ages in this video 💗
I can relate to this song so well... I recently changed friend groups a few weeks ago... I was constantly left out and judged for the way I was... they were all cheerleaders and they all had boyfriends... I was not a cheerleader and I do not have a boyfiends ( don't belive in dating in middle school)... I used to be over weight and got made fun for it... I knew I had to loose weight and I lost 30 pounds by eating healthier and exercising more... when school started this year again I was judge by my "friends"... they told me I was to skinny and I finally realized they were jealous that the boys would talk to me instead of them ... I was happy with myself and was much more active in sport ( I play softball and soccer) I was an overall better athelete... one day I coudnt take the bullying or drama any more... I switched friend groups an snow am in my happy place.. I can now talk to any one and my stress has gone down... I am no longer judged and am living life to the fullest... I wouldn't be who I am if I did not have friends who love me just the way I am❤😉
61 and I heard it first when my students used it in a presentation about the position of women in the world.
I’m grateful for you, for sharing this with us.
You sir are enough just the way you are!!!
Amen. Couldn’t agree with you more. I’m so happy I’m not the only one coming back to this when I’m down. What an incredible human.
Looks like this song gonaa be relatable in a 100 years too ☺️
I used to have social anxiety. What helped me was working in restaurants and coffee shops and just completely immersing yourself in social situations until you realize that there is nothing to be scared of. I’m still shy around new people though, but made huge strides. You can do it :)
A suggestion try that scars to your beautiful that's also a beautiful one

I love how her as a celebrity did this. Not just make the other girls in the video. She put herself out there showing she really cares. She was willing to make her self vulnerable to MAKE A POINT
Agreed. And, I happen to think all of the women in the video were equally, if not more, attractive in their natural forms.
@@pokemonplayer8326 I think so too. Probably cause I like natural look way more in general...
Totally. But the fact that a woman without makeup is defined as vulnerable is kinda sad...
That’s why i appreciate my wife - we’ve been married for over 10 years and i have always preferred her makeup-free look…
Never could get used to her makeup actually! 😘

I think this song is such an important message to young girls nowadays.
Yea we all should love ourselves
Too many weak minds, & even weaker bodies.. the real reason this tune resonates with Western females.
Boys and girls I think. Everybody should hear this song!
DESTINY of my friends
You are is enough. You are loved. ❤
Same mate, Guys go through these stigmas as much as women this song is for everyone! Good luck to you
amen brother. We love you.

My friend likes dark skined people so much. You dont have to be sad you are beautiful!
Dark skin is beautiful. Embrace it pretty woman. Ignore the haters

The last part
"Do you like you?
Love You, your flaws, your mistakes, every scars in and out for it is who you really are
I’m about to go to middle school

All of us will be at least slightly better if we learn the message of this song. Colbie’s songs are all so soulful.

You just have to get up, get up, get up, get up
You don't have to change a single thing
You don't have to try, try, try, try
You don't have to try, try, try, try
You don't have to try
You don't have to try
Take your makeup off
Let your hair down, take a breath
Look into the mirror at yourself
Don't you like you?
'Cause I like you

OMG! This is by far, the best song I've ever heard in my 34 years in this world! Thanks for making the world a better place with your music. You are touching so many lives!
This artist will always have my heart, for the simple fact that she deserves everything she has worked hard for.

+nbprissyrissy PREACH!!
I'm with a pal. I rlly want these songs about boys judging women to change de world forever. And songs that this was about, u don't have to try to be beautiful cuz u already are. No Matter how u look ur beautiful.
Good point
Yeah
Can i marry you?😂😍
I usually call my self ugly but listening to this makes me feel pretty
Aaliyah duh don't think your ugly even I don't know how you look I'm sure you look beautiful and nobody's ugly every one is beautifully no matter what and I mean it from my heart,🙂🙂🙂🙂
Me to i call my self ugly person
too.
I miss X too💙😭😭 I cry 25/8 ever since his death💙😭 i miss him sooo much💙😭 i love him with all my heart😭💙
xxxtentacion will forever be remembered me too
I completely forgot about this song but I saw TWICE in London tonight and Dahyun’s cover was so BEAUTIFUL‼️‼️❤️ Such a pretty song!
Thank you so much for this song, video, courage and support!
Why are you trying to be a person with good vision? You should just be yourself and stop wearing glasses, you faker.
What? How is the fact that I need glasses in order to be able to read, drive, and go about my daily life, fake?
Greg Levitt someone's got a fake brain here... XD
That was beautiful :D
Albert Giesbrecht These are actually my real, prescription glasses. I've been getting frames identical to my current ones for the past 6 years.
you don't HAVE to try. you CAN if you WANT to, but it's not an OBLIGATION. Far out, some people are just looking into this lovely genuine message wayyy to much.
I agree with you 100%
Such a heartfelt song! I love her music so much ❤
This song really touches my heart a lot and to others too just always love yourself and do you.
♡♡♡
listen to the song leukgenoeg its dutch but this song has copied that song so maybe you like that one more 😊
😃 yeah
yessss!!
no argue with that. I'm with ya
As a male going through therapy, constantly insecure about my body image, self doubts and worrying what people might think about me, this song resonates to me a lot too. 😊
Not a chick song at all, in the best meaning possible of the slang. 👏
Thanks, Colbie. ❤
if you recognise that chick is a gross way to describe women then why use it. you dont get brownie points for recognising but not changing your behaviour
@@communist_oranges Same as calling a guy a dude. I have friends that are female that call refer to each other as chick all the time, so it's really down to if you specifically are trying to make it condescending or not. My own wife calls herself chick, so it's perfectly fine to some ladies to use the term.
@@communist_oranges Sorry but no one cares about how you feel thats your problem
Aye proud of you for bettering yourself my dude
I'm a transgender woman Mt f I was constantly worried about what people thought of me, I hear my voice but others hear female, this song had helped me through a major depression that I never wanted to be live if had to live in this body, thanks collie for your song, I don't have to try be me because this is me as I am a woman and of ppl don't like it then they can leave me alone
This song never fails to make me cry and be in tears 💔
Same, girl!

The most important question is "Do you like you?"
This song and video is so beautiful!
I've just discovered this song and it's such a powerful message. We all need more authenticity and courage in this world.
I'd never even heard of this song before my 13 year old daughter told me she's doing her first contemporary solo to it. Awesome message and it's still resonating.
Its crazy how its blown up after so many years, really shows that as women we're finally starting to accept and love ourselves and each other. I love u all my ladies
❤
Thank you! 💖Women should empower each other, not put one another down. 🌻😊
U guys are all beautiful in ur own way don't let people change u 😘😍!!

He loves you.
world needs more songs like this
Colbie where are you? I miss your songs!
This song has made me realize that I shouldn't do my make up and hair for the people around me but for myself. I always gets comments as in: "Who are you trying to impress." And my answer will always be the same; "Me."
Lee Soo Man Wow!!
Wow l didn't know lee soo man felt this way about himself 😂😂
This song prevented me from my suicide attempt. Now i'm 3 months clean!!!!

I found this song today on Instagram , it has so powerful message and not only for girls. Take care of yourself, take care of your mental health and well-being, and don't forget that everyone is unique 💙

This song is THE MOST EMPOWERING song for our young girls and boys out here in this world❤️
It still makes me feel stronger from inside and out❤️
Ladies always remember this:Making yourself beautiful is not you. you are you. you are the beautiful just the way you are. if you hate yourself don't hate yourself. be nice to everyone. if everyone hates you about how you look, just ingnore them and say to yourself"I am beautiful just the way I am. i don't care if anyone that bullies me doesn't know I am beautiful just I am".
Truth spoken from an Anime' kitty cat humanoid hybrid.
Shara Skeleton I wish it was easy to forget when people say I'm ugly.. 😞😞
rosie tema I almost killed myself because people were calling me ugly
HeyItzYaya your beautiful just the way you are ❤️
Disagreed with the 'making yourself beautiful is not you' part. I think if wearing make up makes you happy, feel free. Just dont feel forced to 'become pretty' for someone, or society. Be however you want, and that includes making efforts to transform into your ideal self. If that requires some make up or stuff like that, so be it?

Danielle Thomson I’ve felt that exact way and I’ve been through everything on that list, one day your gonna get what you deserve, you deserve more and your worthy.
That's so nice thank you
I love you too...☺☺
This is a song that resonates with everyone, but from a guy's perspective, it's incredibly powerful.
Mia V. This is so beautiful!!! You are a beautiful soul!!!
anam tanvir Thanks 😊
i feel u
I feel the same and I can't find the beauty in myself so i wear makeup to cover myself up so I actually look decent
This made me cry so hard. We all are beautiful, and, anyway. Doesn't matter how you look on the outside. How you look on the inside, matters.
Ionescu Monica I like a Boy but he Doesn't like me
There wasn't a single boy I liked who ever liked me back so...

Sorry for the random comment, but I was having a rough day and was singing this in my head so I came to watch the video & wanted to let you know things will get better, you’re loved, and worthy of happiness ❤
Only thing that worries me is the “cuts” comment… I really hope you’re not doing anything to harm yourself. You do not deserve that.
@@MedusasDaughter3 thanks so much ❤️❤️❤️ and yes I have suffered from cutting myself and having trouble with my anger towards myself. I am in a better place now. ❤️❤️❤️
@@HawkMawth that is awesome to hear 💕 keep your head up babe!
@@MedusasDaughter3 thank you so much same to you ❤️❤️❤️
This is so true!
Even at 30 this song hits hard. I've always struggled with self esteem and the expectations of how women should look and the effort they are expected to put in to 'look good' are just as bad now, if not worse, as they were when I was a teen. I also love that she included women of all ages in this video 💗
You are beautiful!
Love yourself cause you only live once. Why live up to the expectations of random people in the society?
Again you are beautiful!
Same.
@@fungun6169 Aw thank you for this
I can relate to this song so well...
Love Animals awww im so sorry you had to go through that
Good for you xx well done
good job girl 👏👏👍👍👍
I did the same the only thing is if I loose weight I will be judged as a try hard. But your story is inspiring
