This was a great year! We had awesome leadership, administration support, and a great group of parents working their tales off. We knew were a part of something special when announced 4th in National competition and people booed b/c we weren't 1st. We took prelims and probably should've won it all; too much politics involved at that level. Great experience, I'm very proud to be a part of this organization.
Wonderful show, should have placed second. Marian Catholic placed first in 1996 in prelims and semi finals. They dropped to 4th in finals. It happens.
The drop from 1 to 4 was ridiculous. Should have won... The innovation and emotional general effect of this show stands the test of time.
Still one of my favorite shows.
Just finished my first marching band year at South,it was one of the best things to happen to me!It so cool seeing all the trophies on the wall .
The band director of this is my current band director! WOOT go Mr.Werner!
god, watching this makes me so sad that it's all ending again.
@bluehominid123 - I think that's a bit oversimplification. Any scholastic level group is going to have excellence issues. What you're not taking into account is the simultaneous responsibilities they have while performing, versus sitting and playing. The performers are 13-18 years old and have about 12 weeks to learn and perfect a show...
Mine too
Considering that this is a high school, and this performance was in the top twelve at grand nationals, I would say they did just fine. Try playing this material while doing what they are doing visually. And at the end of the day this was nearly 20 years ago. Get over yourself.
I go there this year, and our show is shit..
