I'm a 25 year old man, and this advice is for them who feel sleepy or distracted while study so the advice is simple that one thing which I have learnt from my struggling days is we all need nothing but an acceptance that "study is boring and so does road to success" the day you all accept this fact is the day your mind will stop playing with you to find small pleasures while studying. Major reason for sleep and distraction is our mind seeks pleasure and you all need to accept that there is no pleasure in study it is hard and straight game of focus. Focus = study = success, end of topic
The main problem is not sleepiness. The main problem is 1) improper night time sleep . Like using overhead blankets or inadequate ventilation , less sleep at night time 2) disinterest in studies because of mental or physical distraction . Virtual distraction 3) not trying to understand what one is reading . Understanding each and every word in very important. Otherwise subsequent interest may be lost in studies 4) Not formulation methods how to remember the theory . Don't memorise the theory . Only mnemonics will do . Don't take pressure . Don't think the goal again and again . Think about the study that one wants to do . As per Shri Krishna, road in more important and not the goal . 5) adequate hydration 6) don't use too much of coffee tea because they increase heart rate , they are Firoza diuretics 7) take small 15 min breaks every 2 hrs or so . 8) in between studies , don't have oily foods like fry foods, chips , bakery items , etc . No too much sweet items . This will divert blood from brain to your GIT so you feel sleepy 9) in between meals , half less calorie fruits like apple , grapes , one banana or pomegranate 10) tell neighbours , not to increase their voice or TV volume 11) while study period or days , don't argue or fight with others . This will distract you 12) don't expect too much 13) sleep at afternoon for 45 min to one hour since one sleep cycle is at least 45 min to one hour . 14) while studying and new chapter be well averse with the new words that one may come across in that chapter . Try making small notes on text book itself so that when you read same topic next time , you will remember something . At least read three times the same chapter at one go . Because first reading is for getting feel off chapter , second reading for understanding the chapter . Third reading for marking and making notes

Try the reward method too, set a goal, break it into parts, set a simple but satisfying reward for completing that task ( like, if I complete this chapter, I can play for 1/2 hr) at the end of the day. This works. Just like the daily reward strategy of games for login. (Dopamine detox) or in other words, liking the thing which is good rather than bad.
