Valide Kösem Sultan, who learned that Sinan Pasha was a traitor, realizes that he has been exposed. Helpless corners. Whoever this actor is, she's been impeccable in her role as Safiye. WOW. Just wow. Hollywood can't emulate what the Turkish film & television industry has created. If not for the underwhelming english subtitles, I wouldn't understand an ounce of this great television series.

I totally agree with you! After Hurrem Sultan Safiya Sultan was the most powerful. But they didn't focus only on her reign. Actually if they would've shown it in a sequence that would've been much better like After Hurrem Nurbano & then Safiya & then Kosem Sultan at the end but Turhan Sultan as well because with her death the most magnificent era of Sultanat-e-women in the Ottoman Empire came to an end. But they didn't plan that they just focuses on the main Sultanas like Hurrem & Kosem.

And indirectly she made kosem very strong . All the things kosem learned from her made her a powerful sulthana. The actress who played safiye was the best actress after meriyem ... our first hurrem . We wud love to see part 3 .... sulthana of sulthanates "safiye sulthan "

I think there are many untold memories from Safiye Sultan when she comeback to Harem, not only those luxury things but also the memory of her young era, all her life that spent in Harem that this series can't show to us. So Sad to have a great Valide Sultan end like this, but she is so wise even she defeat, she realise she has to relieved and officially give the authority to support her successor, explain how to become good and ambitious Valide Sultan for the dynasty. And she also free her dearest servant. That is Safiye Sultan for you, she is wonderful Sultana.

I rooted for her at the beginning because she was wise, but when she started being all evil, I couldn’t anymore. Nevertheless, she was very experienced. Great Actress too. Her facial expressions really tells the story of her character, even before she says her lines.

I hate this. Why doesn't Kosem show respect to Safiye? She enters the room so nonschalant,doesnt bow,rolls her eyes... Hurrem always showed respect to everyone,Valide,Hatice,Sah,Fatma... Despite everything... Thats why Hurrem will be my favourite!
The biggest mistake that was made was when Prince Selim became the Sultan. As rest of his brothers were much more capable as a Sultan but his cunningness & Drags planned by Nurbano made him the king and yet that started the destruction of Ottoman Empire.
Yes, sehjada mustafa and beyzid were far far better than him...mustafa ,bayzid ,mehmad ( halim's son) , mehmat( kosem's son) all could be great sultans ...but each of them is executed wrongly and unfortunately.. also hurrem's first son(?name) and Cihangir also

Hülya Avsar did a great job as Safiye Sultan. She showed the maturity, wisdom and decorum throughout the series
I think it's interesting that in the end she faced death on her own terms and took herself out of the game as she realised she'd lost, but Kosem ended up trying to hide in a cupboard only to be strangled on the floor and her corpse looted, because she wanted more and more.

@@kohinur8547 if you read history then you would know your comment was inaccurate. Kosem undermined the authority of the state, during her regency corruption was rampant and revolts were widespread. Additionally, she had her son killed and attempted to kill her grandson.

Kosem was hiding in a cupboard and they dragged her outside and strangled her. Some say they did so with her own hair. She was not like a real padisah, she was only a regent. Monarch and regent are two different things. Kosem did good deeds in regards to charity but she was not a very capable leader. Anatolian warlords were constantly seizing Ottoman lands, corruption was happening everywhere, the treasury had become weakened. Murad IV took away Kosem's regency because of these factors and and ultimately brought prosperity to the empire. And they didn't hate Turhan at all, in fact Turhan was very much loved by the population. We have several records of how much they praised her works. When she died, they said 'Alas, the strongest support of the state is gone'. I've written a paper on the Sultanate of Women for my class, and Kosem is extremely overrated and was not at all how the show depicted her as being this absolute monarchist; she was not.

Poor Safiye. the death of her only hope in the dynasty Iskender died. I do not support her intentions. but if Iskender was Sultan instead of Osman and Mustafa, I believe it'd be a different story. The empire would have a strong ruler. but then again, as long as Kosem is in the way, such things are far from reality. Humasha shouldn't have trusted Zulfikar in the first place. that was Safiye Sultan's one mistake.

@Ksjs Jdjdb yeah I heard about the curse that whomever wears that ring is cursed. Men who wore that or owned that were killed instantly by some unknown causes and women who wore that, although lived were cursed in some way or the other.
It is a cursed object that will curse it's owner none the less according to the legend.
Hurrem Sultana lived a long glorious life after wearing that ring. The ring was a symbol of Suleyman's love for Hurrem . She wanted that ring to be buried with her but Nurbanu stole in this series. So maybe that's why the curse comes to effect as it should have buried with the rightful owner🤷 But then instead of curse it is also a symbol of Power as the most powerful Sultanas wore it.

Alot of people are having disagreements on who is the "strongest". That's like saying someone was more beautiful than the other. It's not a black and white thing. Some can be stronger in a negative way and some on a positive way, but the negative are those who act as a coward.
As humans we have strengths and weaknesses. Where we draw our strength from is how it shapes us and the path we lead.. Kosem loved so much she never admitted defeat not because she was afraid of failure but because it was not an option. Her strength was those she loved and did not waiver against the odds. She always believed in wanting the best for the dynasty because she saw how Ahmed loved it. She was honest, kind, and loving and forgiving even towards Osman to the end. She never wanted her sons to be at odds and through and through her strength was clearly her children. All of them.
I can't speak on Hurrem because I haven't watched her story yet.
I recommend to watch Hürrem's story (ot even bette read, if you would like to know real history) because everything started from Hürrem. She openend the women's era in Ottoman's Empire.

What a depressing time and place to live, everyone becoming so treacherous that they eventually had no choice but to kill themselves because of all the burden that was on their minds at the time for all of the inequities they had committed to perpetuate their personal agendas that was their sole objective. Kosem and Safiya were both the same in trying to perpetuate their personal agendas, Safiya knew that and that was the reason she passed on the ring to Kosem. Committing suicide is not dying with grace, but grace is to accept your death when it comes to you naturally (natural causes or being punished for your crimes). Suicide is a cowardly way out when you had deserved to die for killing so many individuals, especially many innocent people in the process as casualties for your war.
