    WATCHING AGAIN AND I WILL DEFINITELY BE WATCHING IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN. THEM WELLO OPALS LIKE LIGHT PERIOD, THAT IS NICE TO KNOW.

    Very interesting and educational too. I have been buying some pieces of Andamooka matrix for pretty cheap along with some chips and it's really just to look at and collect. The only problem is that I don't have much that is worth looking at because any Australian rough opal that has the colour is hundreds of dollars, even for small chips and off cuts. I have bought one 5 carat Welo Opal for $50 and it has an amazing flashy colorful pattern that would be worth thousands of dollars if it was Australian opal. I think that from now on I will look for Welo in the rough parcels instead of Australian chips with almost no colour. I might even have the courage to try my dremmel on a few pieces that are big enough to hold

    Watching again. I have watched a lot of videos pertaining to Opals and other Stones, Gems and ___. I have noticed that practically all Opals have to be cleaned and even cracks / fractures and overburden that needs to be dealt with especially Australian Opals that are Laden with Sand that many times are deep into the Opal. The Australian Andamooka Matrix is probably the Opal I like the most from Australia. Then there is the Mexican Fire Opal that is/has Given the Australian Opal a run for the money. What is your Opinion on the Oregan Fire Opal and the Spencer Opal in America?

    • @ElieGhanimeEG
      @ElieGhanimeEG ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you need to clean any sand and remove any cracks out before working with Opal it will save time in the long run and you'll get better fished stone. The Andamooka matrix is regularly treated with sugar-acid treatment to improve the color and make it darker and that's the reason I don't like to work with it. The Oregon Fire Opal is clear brown and very rare to have fire in it, I have some of it but I rather work with Opal that has colors.

    Opal sounds, way different than labradorite stone. I love that stone, but it has it's challenge's. Basically like opal you can not spend to much time in one area. Love the info....

    CLEANING OUR WHEELS ON OUR CABKING 6". we use a toothbrush on all the wheels-from the wheels that came with the Cabbing Machine. Now at present day and time-what do you recommend we use to clean the wheels with - after each use? I have been searching for products and supplies that can and will aid in the longevity of the wheels. I came across Kingsly North and they sale products for the CabKing wheels which is not only clean the wheels but also add to the wheels? My goodness the Technology in our era is wonderful and amazing.
    I also purchased an 8000, 14000 and 50000 wheels in the same like of the original wheels. We are also watching Videos on cutting and polishing Jade- especially for the Jade that is so Translucent that I can see my finger on the other side of the Jade. I know of hand BASED ON YOUR MASTERY OF MATERIALS YOU CAN GIVE ME SOME IDEA OF THE TYPE OF JADE WE HAVE. We are just new to this Rockhounding and Lapidary.

      @ElieGhanimeEG ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cleaning the wheels is a waist of time and money, it doesn't do anything, remember these are diamond wheel not corundum wheels plus you're using water all the time while working, all you need to do to increase the life of the diamond wheels is not to press hard, let the wheels do the work for you.
      With regards to the Jade you have I did not work with this material so I can't tell you how it will behave but I don't think it will be any different than any other Jade.

    Your material (and mine) is probably worth more than what is being mined now just because it's been held for so long after mining that it's proven naturally stable. Nice video, i look forward to the rest of the series. Once again you proven yourself a real gem! 👍

      Hello Jeanette Able, first I want to make sure you watch the new channel and not the old one because I can't login to the old one anymore, here's the new channel link. th-cam.com/channels/3zSF2wGBv1pzuUYksU8d3w.html
      Now to answer your question, first of all Wello opal and water don't get along very well together, as soon as you put it in water it will lose its colors. However, if that happened you have to leave it out to dry for about a week or two until the water evaporates then the colors will return back. To enjoy your opal, you can wire wrap it as a necklace or just display it as is DRY.

    Based on YOUR EXPERTISE /n EXPERIENCE we recently purchased 50 Wello Opals. Each one is to be 16mm-22mm. The seller has informed us that we would not be disappointed, It is his word. I informed them that I do not sale or resale, we do this as a Hobby and now to fashion / make jewelry for our 6-childre, 10-grandchildren and 3- great grand kiddos, then for siblings and Caregivers. Now they are offering us an opportunity to sale Wello Opals, hmmm we said? What would you do? We value YOUR Experience / Expertise in this matter.
    MANY BLESSINGS UPON YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!

    Can I shape and polish wolo opal by hand like with sandpaper

    • @ElieGhanimeEG
      @ElieGhanimeEG 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can if you're using different grits of sandpaper. Polishing and sanding might be difficult. However, you can buy a small Dremel (Electric hand grinder) they are not that expensive and they come with a lot of attachments you can also use the felt pad with diamond paste for polishing.

    • @jeffhigginson9940
      @jeffhigginson9940 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have been using a dremel and have got most of the sand out if I use water I'm not going to destroy my opals am ? Plus I have been rubbing some by hand with an old sharpening stone and I think it might have had a little bit of oil on it is that going to be ok

    • @ElieGhanimeEG
      @ElieGhanimeEG 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jeffhigginson9940 the water will not damage the Opal, but the colors may disappear. However, the colors should come back in a few days, try not to use oil at all, Welo Opal is hydrophane, and in one of my videos it explains what it means but whatever you do don’t use oil.
