I have one exactly like that one a guy gave me today, he was cleaning out his dads shop he said they could not get it running, I went get it and about an hour later I had it running, it shows it has 6.2 hours on it, the only thing I could wrong with it was a wire was pulled off the low oil level, runs like a top now when it cranked up there were dirt dobber nest flying out the exhaust lol
appreciate the video. I've got the same unit and it runs strong. I ran it constantly during the last hurricane for 10 days straight. it's loud enough to wake the dead and sucks down the fuel but it is dependable I've got to give it that..
@@jetstream454. I have a 35 yo sears 8000w generator it’s based off a generac generator of similar size. My uncle bought it in the late 80’s for almost 1700$ and while the engine started it stopped generating AC it 500cc vtwin engine . they bought a new 15kw generator in 2004 and gave me the old one that I figured out that the potted voltage regulator failed for which I found a replacement for 200$ at the time. My father wanted me to find a small portable ac unit to use with the 15 kw generator but since they had the transfer switch installed , I built a interface cable to run off the 15kw portable generator for a couple hundred $ in cable and twist lock connectors from Home Depot. So they had central AC and lights during the 2004 storm. I fixed up the 8k generator further and built a cable to feed my house for the 2017 storm with no power for 3 days with extra circuit breaker and interlocks to turn off main breaker first then put generator breaker inlet connector on. It’s a lot cheaper than using a 200amp transfer switch like my uncle’s house had. Anyway I burn about a gallon of gasoline an hour with the 8kw unit running the central 3.5 ton ac unit and two refrigerators and lights. I turned off the water heater and stove circuit breakers to be sure no excess loads are applied! Cooking I used a propane side burner on the grill outside.
I’ve got a 5500 that was abandoned at a property I bought. I’m about to start cleaning it out and see if I get as lucky as you. It’s electric start but has a pull rope. I tried pulling it and can’t budge it.
That's about all I could find. It has parts and maintenance information. Not sure what other information you need. It's a pretty simple machine not too much to it.

Surprising that a diesel uses that much fuel...I guess they are big engines

Congratulations on a nice win. Great score. Love those diesels. Can wait years and still will start. Fuel is awesome for not breaking down like Gas.
Great video
Do you remember the website that you found the service manual? can I get a copy?

Hello My ETQ diesel generator won't crank. Good starter, wires, and battery. any idea why/ tks
Who made the engine in this generator? thank you
I'm really not sure. Some type of Chinese knock off...
Enjoyed this. Thanks
Thank you for watching
Since you got your diesel fuel at Casey's general store, what town are you? Somewhere in Iowa?
Small town Indiana
What is splash of 911 and diesel treat?
Power Service 911 and Power Service diesel treatment. Just some fuel conditioners available at any parts store.
@@RicosGarage thanks, i have one of these i bought 2 years ago and have not used it, will be changing out old diesel.

Here you go.
@@RicosGarage Thank you
@@RicosGarage I just checked it out, it is an owners manual, not a service manual.

@@RicosGarage I appreciate it, I just have no experience with diesel engines.
I have that same generator, it will not charge battery. Have you gotten that far into your project?
The charging system on mine is working so unfortunately I can't help you out.
where can i bay one
Who can rebuild or replace the generator head on the 7500? Most interest in the rebuild. Engine fine.
I would try a shop that rebuilds starters alternators and electric motors.
We have several around here should be something local to you as well.
Check for a video on how to replace the capacitor in the power head
Thanks for the video looking forward to your next project.
Thanks for watching. Trying to get a video out every Sunday.
How many hours on that unit does it have a meter?
Yes it has a meter. Only has 12 hours on it.
Just looks rough from sitting outside for so long
