I change both tracks on my T300 but I'm going to get a few bucket pins for next time. That was a great tip. Thank you so much, your videos are to the point, informative and enjoyable to watch. Bobcat should learn from you, seriously, their service videos are few and far between and take forever to watch and are so sterile. Since finding your channel, I feel like I have a mechanic living next door to me LOL.
Great Video! Good thing you have that overhead crane, I use my mini-ex with a chain or my Winch on my RZR to help pull them off. Sure helps when you are working alone.
I already knew how to do this but I always look at your videos to see if you're doing it more efficiently because that's often the case. Thanks for making your vids, I've learned a lot from you
Thank you for the video. I ordered some c pattern trax and sure need to watch some videos to help along ! You mentioned the specific amount of grease to get the tension to spec. What is the correct tension so not to snap or bend something and how do you go about gauging that correct tension also what kind of grease is the grease you need to use thank you for your advice
I did this for my T595 using a Milwaukee grease gun. I put too much grease in the tensioner and (bang) something broke. Probably the spring assembly. Be careful, everyone
Question. Replaced skinny tracks with wide tracks on a new T550. Go to tension and its spitting all the grease back out. Replaced the fittings and still spitting it out. Ive tried tightening/loosening. Any input?
Excellent question, really depends on the conditions in which you work. Wide tracks have a lower ground pressure but takes more power to operate. Check out this link for more information on tread patterns. www.bobcat.com/learn/research/loaders/detail?choosing-the-right-tracks
It's actually Bobcats turf track but this machine is used on asphalt 90% of the time and it's what lasts the longesest of any other track we have tried.
I have been trying to find smooth tracks here in Australia for months and are unable to source them, I can see on his video that hes is installing a set, anyone know where he might of got them?
@@tetradgroup cheers mate, yeah tried them but they won’t ship to Australia unfortunately, we have just the two options here in Oz for tracks both of which destroy turf. Might have to get the grinder out and make my own.
I just purchased a 16’ t590 and I went to tighten the track a touch and found out that the zerk fitting is at a slight angle upwards ( both sides are the same ) and cannot get a grease gun to properly attach to the fitting to tighten the tracks any tips thanks
Is it true that if I release the pressure on the track that cylinder with the zerks on it can twist to re align the zerks for easy use ? Maybe changing drive oil when I pumped then back up I push on the zerks and turned the cylinder upwards to make them hard to access?
@@bretbealmear922 I don't think you can on the 590, it might turn an ⅛ of an inch because it locks into the track frame, the end of cylinder has flats on it so depends on how much wear it has. The older machines you could turn to any position but the M series has the flats. There could be a weird serial number break that I'm not aware of but it's worth a try.
Thank you I will look into it more tomorrow I appreciate your knowledge! Tracks are tight I was just being picky and noticed the weird angle and got me thinking !
You know those hand pumped hydraulic lifts we can buy? WHY!? Don't companies like BobCat weld those so that a skid steer user can lift their machine for service?
great now imagine doing this without a functional sprocket in the mud in the woods on a hill with no other equipment. that’s my life right now because of one f#*king rock that dislodged the track on the inside of the sprocket and both idler wheels. this thing has got me cussing words that don’t event make sense. if i wasn’t 27 i would be dead from high blood pressure. 😡🤬🤯
Your videos have saved me thousands of dollars. Thank you very much

Great video, you get to the point without all the chit chat
you must work for bobcat you know everything about them. nice job explaining things
Can you share more videos when you service your equipment, codes and fixes.
Thanks

Can you tell me the dimensions of that bucket pin, or what model of excavator they came off of? That is a great tip/trick you shared there!
Great video
Not how everyone does it
But the way you do it……
A+
Great video, simple and to the point. Thank you for sharing it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
How did you get the machine off the ground? I see you had a heavy-duty jack stand under the back.
I did this for my T595 using a Milwaukee grease gun. I put too much grease in the tensioner and (bang) something broke. Probably the spring assembly. Be careful, everyone
How about aftermarket tracks worth it or not

How do you know what the right tension is?
On new tracks how much space do you usually leave between the track and the roller?
What are the benefits of using narrow tracks vs wide tracks? And lug pattern?

All these videos are great
Great video
A MT with forks makes short work of track changes
What kind of tracks are those? Looks like they're great to run on asphalt.
It's actually Bobcats turf track but this machine is used on asphalt 90% of the time and it's what lasts the longesest of any other track we have tried.
@@tetradgroup I have to give them a try. Thanks for the great videos. I always learn something!
Thank you very much
Does it matter which way the tracks go on????? Anyone???
Good job
Appreciate it
I have a t595 and when I insert grease, the grease comes back out the grease fitting, any help please
Either the fitting is loose as it is actually a valve or the fitting is damaged. Try to tighten first.
Is it possible for the tensioner to become seized or bent? I cannot get the track tension to release all the way after removing the grease fitting.
Yes, if the tensioner spring is broken it will wedge in sideways and nearly impossible to take apart. Could be just rocks or debris as well.
Thanks for your advice! These videos are a great resource for me

Sometimes they are at a slight angle but a standard grease gun should work. Are you using a locking grease adapter like the lock n lube?
Yes I am using a lock n lube , Installed the standard grease coupler and still couldn’t get it to Seal good

Ha ha done the same thing in a creek at 55 years old , stinking hot day got it back on , near killed me , lots of new cuss words that day 😂😂
The crane is cheating a lot
I get to do them in the dirt with no crane
Why didn’t you clean up and inspect the undercarriage while you have the track off.
What’s the diameter of those pins? That’s a great idea.
The pins I have are 1 3/4" diameter.
@@tetradgroup great, thanks!
