The story of this cover went like this 🤓: By the time Feuerschwanz' album Moment Mori was to be released, Abba's comeback album was occupying the first position in the German longplayers' charts, and Feuerschwanz promised to the gods they would cover an ABBA song if their album would chart higher than ABBA's.
The gods granted, and Momento Mori charted as #1, debunking the Swedish legends. They had to comply and released a one-minute clip "Gimme a mead after midnight" celebrating the success: th-cam.com/video/6BBJ8SPGW38/w-d-xo.html
But the insatiable fans wanted a full version. Which is this one.
They're nearly perfect in their music. Great twist on the original. Great reaction too!
Feuerschwanz always look like they are having the time of their life whenever they make a video but especially when they do covers of non metal songs.
Amberian Dawn covered another ABBA song some years ago and are going to release an ABBA tribute album soon.
When Feuerschwanz had their years end/ album release stream last year, Prinz Hodenherz (Prince Testicleheart aka Ben Metzner, long haired singer) put a dare out, he (who admittedly don't like ABBA at all) would cover one of their songs if the album reached the pole position in Germany within the first week. It did and they put a celebration clip (around 50 seconds) of this song, with alternative lyrics (... a mead after midnight) out. So it actually seems coincidentally as they would need approval for every version separately anyways. As a record lable you don't get carte blanche to do different covers of the same song, especially not from ABBA, especially not since the Edelweiss incident back in the late 80s.

Yep their music videos are always great! For some reason I havent really gotten into them yet besides youtube. But that seems to be the way for me with a lot of bands, especially lately.
