Saw Firedick for the first time as an after headline band at Rockharz Festival in 2016(...ish?) at 01am ... drunk, sunburned and happy as I was I went to the rearguard of the moshpit/fans. And then they announced a song called "Zuckerbrot und Peitsche (Ginger-/Sugar-)bread and Whip!" and asked all of the audience to take off their shirts and use it as a whip during the song ... what shall I say? I had some skincontact with braless boobs and consent(!) that night🥰
Ben Metzner "Hodi" is also the leadsinger in dArtagnan you checked out before. other songs to check out like berserkermode, knochenkarussel, Bastard von Asgard and many MANY more, but if you like covers do check out their the weekend - Blinding Lights cover one of my favorits among the cover album.
Check out their original stuff. For example: "Untot im Drachenboot", "Berserkermode", "SGFRD Dragonslayer", "Ultima Nocte", "Memento Mori", "Methämmer", "Knochenkarussel"
If I remember it correctly, the video was filmed in Spain. Their original material is usually in German but in 2020 they started doing cover songs in other languages (mostly English) too. For the 2020 album Das Elfte Gebot and the 2021 album Memento Mori, they've recorded seven coversongs each, that were put on the bonus disc of the limited deluxe editions, selected from suggestions of the band members. In 2022, they released a compliation album, Todsünden, containing of all the fourteen existing covers plus two new ones: The Final Countdown (original by Europe) and Gimme Gimme Gimme. The latter one being the result of a dare, as Prinz Hodenherz (Ben Metzner), the long haired singer/ multi instrumentalist, had promised during the album release stream for Memento Mori on New Years Eve 2021, that he would do an ABBA cover if their album pushed ABBA's album from the #1 place on the German album charts in the first week, which it did. Their cover (and the video) of the 2004 summer dance hit Dragostea Din Tei (aka the Numa Numa song), original by Moldovan boy group O-Zone, is just unbelievable (unbelievable great or unbelievable ridiculous? YES!).
Check out Warriors of the World United a Manowar Cover by Feuerschwanz, Saltatio Mortis, Melissa Bonny(Ad Infinitum and The Dark Side of the Moon) and Thomas Winkler( Angus McSix) Or (and) Check out the Album Memento Mori with several Cover Songs...
You are right: The video was not made in Germany, but the band is German. :) It can get rather hot over here in the summer, but Olive trees - nah... just in buckets, and we keep them inside in the winter.
@@welderreactor Or Greece or Spain, I guess. "Mediterranean" in a sense.Edit: As I have not been to any of those, I could not say which of them is the most likely one. 🤭😅
16.12.23 live in Neumünster Walhalla Festival.
