The only thing that concerns me is our offensive line. It has looked worse since around the Titans game. It affects our run game, therefore our time of possession, which will affect our defense. The Vikings had the ball deep in their own end with time running out in the first half, up 20-7. The time to take a knee, would've been then. Cunningham was stripped with that long wind up of his, Falcons recovered and punched it in, down only 6. I remember hearing a pin drop.
Cunningham was clearly off that day but that games was a Clinique on how NOT to win a game Strip sack before half allows Falcons to regain hope , Dropped interceptions , missed Field Goal " he was roughed on the kick " and my personal top reason Robert Smith ran out of bounds saving at the least 40 seconds that allowed the Falcons time to score and send the game to OT . The knee wasn't as high on my radar but it was gutless of Green for sure but the strip sack was probably still in his head .
@trevorlee7945 Taking a knee at the end of the game didn't really bother me that much. A lot of damage was done by then, and there was very little time left with a lot of field to maneuver. Green had too much hubris and got reckless and greedy at the end of the half, already up 13 and in control of the game. And did it ever cost them.
Phil's right about Lions resting players last game of the season. Just look at Raiders when Jack Del Rio was coach. He kept Derek Carr in a menaingless game when he broke his leg. Carr has never been the same since.

Im not surprised. The ONLY reason it moved to the pack is because of the Pack's game against the practice squad. This isn't the first time that the money was on the other team and we won. So it doesn't worry me. Mackey needs to STOP with the negativity (and I've been a fan since the 80s). I think it's a ridiculous take, honestly Some fans and podcasters need to go to therapy. Changing culture is about more than just feel-good stuff. Part of the reason we got our heart broken in the past was due to coaching and the team not truly believing they belonged there. It felt like luck. This team feels different and they absolutely believe they deserve to be there.

I’m sick of the same darnold contract talk. We talk about it so much like we’re figure if it out ourselves. Let the season be and then trust in O’Connell and kwesi to make the best decision. There, all the talk should be over now.
Be a shame to not get any draft choices for him. He is worth at least a mid 1st round pick now and maybe higher depending how far they go in the playoffs. Franchise him for a year [or 2] and maybe can trade him at some point?
I want to make sure you guys understand that we acquired all of the defensive players currently on the roster while working around $70M in dead cap that goes away after this year? So, if we pay Sam $50 million next year we still have $20M more cap room than we had this year? You get that, right?
We have a bunch of dudes in line for raises. A fair amount of our extra cap space will be ate up by current players. We won’t have as much to spend as you think
Darnold has twice made it known publicly that he wants to come back for another run. What that means financially, I don't know, but could it hint that he is willing to take less on a short term guaranteed contract?
Hot take. Ko told Danny dimes, two years ago to stink it up and he would pick him up when cut. Now kewesi is going to trade Sammy d, and Mccarthy for all the draft picks. Then sign Danny dimes to a team friendly three yr deal.
If Darnold doesnt go for the big payday then yeah but if you have to outbid to keep him then there goes the money to bring in other pieces like we just did this season. Darnold is having a good year but I dont see him as a QB that carries a team like Burrow or Maholmes. If your spending on a QB thats what they need to be
The Darnold decision is dependant on where McCarthy is. Its possible the injury is a concearn. Its possible behind the scenes he doesnt feel like the leader we think he is if so Darnold is in play if not move on. The idea McCarthy will retrain trade value if we stick with Darnold is silly. 2nd round pick at best for McCarthy simply because becoming available would be a red flag.
I think fan perspective could drop if they lose the next 2 games because we saw full panic set in when they dropped 2 straight earlier in the season. I don’t think it changes the players or changes feeling about being able to win in the playoffs. I’ll be ready to ignore the cliff divers that can’t handle when a team loses 😂
JJ and Jones are similar qb types. They can both run the 3 step drop get the ball out quickly. This isn’t Sam’s game ever. They can all play the midrange game. Sam excels at the hunt way down field range. McCarthy that is an unknown. Jones that hadn’t been a strength for him in the past. The front office has to decide. 😊
I think Daniel jones is here to be a scout. Think we’ll franchise Sam next year and treat next year as we planned for this year as on the job training for JJ.

When Robert Saleh was fired from the JETS, didn't Green Bay Organization bring him as a consultant to help GB Coach Matt Lefleur and maybe the defensive side of the ball. Maybe that's why the GB defense got a little better, in my opinion.
Defense has been a little easy to run against lately so we need to fix that bug overall I think Flores is doing a great job and can’t wait to see what he does to the Packers!
@@steveparsons8458 we have the top run defense when Pace plays, he’s back…😈
Phil your paranoia flys in the face of the premise of this show. You want the Vikings to win a SuperBowl before you die, but when the Vikings get this close you pull out the old Viking paranoia. The 2024 Vikings are not the Vikings of old! SKOL Vikings!!
People said the same thing with the 2022 team
Being paranoid about the other shoe falling doesnt mean he wants them to not win a ring.
Im not surprised. The ONLY reason it moved to the pack is because of the Pack's game against the practice squad. This isn't the first time that the money was on the other team and we won. So it doesn't worry me.
Mackey needs to STOP with the negativity (and I've been a fan since the 80s). I think it's a ridiculous take, honestly
Some fans and podcasters need to go to therapy. Changing culture is about more than just feel-good stuff. Part of the reason we got our heart broken in the past was due to coaching and the team not truly believing they belonged there. It felt like luck. This team feels different and they absolutely believe they deserve to be there.
@@tinamdobson Vikings have been undervalued every single game this year by Vegas. No biggy. Thats why Vikings have been one of the best teams to bet all year.
98 team had almost as much swagger as the 85 Bears and look what happened!
@ Any given Sunday! Just like the best team ever, the 2007 Patriots, that lost in the Super Bowl. The best team doesn’t always win it all. That dang football can bounce goofy
@@Valkyrie-p7y It's not just about swagger though. It's the whole package.
@ yeah
We all found that out in 98 and 09
Mackey ALWAYS mentions time zone changes and it makes a CRINGE like bro who tf cares lmao
I'm 58 and Judd is my sports Dad, that'll tell you something.
Negative Phil
Darnold could very well regress like Geno Smith has since his breakout season in 2022.
Stay away from zack wilson
Sports dad FTW!
Darnold has twice made it known publicly that he wants to come back for another run. What that means financially, I don't know, but could it hint that he is willing to take less on a short term guaranteed contract?
Welcome back phil and dexter
Hot take. Ko told Danny dimes, two years ago to stink it up and he would pick him up when cut. Now kewesi is going to trade Sammy d, and Mccarthy for all the draft picks. Then sign Danny dimes to a team friendly three yr deal.
Percent chance. 1% or less. But it would be pretty cool if it was true
If Darnold doesnt go for the big payday then yeah but if you have to outbid to keep him then there goes the money to bring in other pieces like we just did this season.
Darnold is having a good year but I dont see him as a QB that carries a team like Burrow or Maholmes. If your spending on a QB thats what they need to be
tag himn and get draft pick for him
The Darnold decision is dependant on where McCarthy is.
@@chadharris7988 ya we can make a run regardless of what happens the next two games. Hoping we win those of course tho!
They brought DJ in to be a scout? What's he scouting?
lol Judd how can u argue against running it back in 2010? Horrible take. So we should have cut Farve after that? Cmon…he deserved one more year. Anybody can play captain hindsight
I am sports dad old. Plz stop comparing a in his prime QB to late stage Favre and Cunningham. Plz take note that as an old guy, we may not see another QB play at the level Sam is, and ya'll want to let him go. It's insane in a way only a MN fan base can be. Any other team is signing him.
Imagine DB Khyree Jackson playing in the defense. R.I.P.
The worst takes always come from this show.
the defense is solid but its not going to carry them to the superbowl, the offense is going to have to be firing on all cylinders. thats whats going to carry them to the superbowl.
We’ll all see the Vikings true defense Sunday afternoon. Hopefully it’s the first half defense from the last Packers game and NOT the second half defense
Remember
Love was playing hurt and rusty in that game and he still almost came back to win
@ 💯 IMO this game comes down to a coaches battle with both teams, on paper, pretty well matched up evenly
Also, It’ll be disappointing to see more than 1/3 of the crowd in green and gold
@@Valkyrie-p7y i think your profile pic of the little puppy was more fitting for you
I definitely favor both the Packers and Lions. Till we prove we can win in the playoffs we are who we’ve been. Lions and Packers had playoff success last year. They are proven. Hopefully the Vikes prove to be a playoff power this year.
@@ridemotoeveryday new coaching staff, and different players. The past is irrelevant. KOC is a proven winner. Donashell gave us no chance at a run in 22. Worst D coordinator the league has ever seen
@ I’m there with you and are hoping to see them prove they are a top team, but until we do something we ain’t done anything. I hope they make a playoff push, I’m just not gonna get hyped till it happens. This has been an awesome season so far and have not gotten emotional about the games which has been very enjoyable.
SKOL!
@ Vikings have a 50/50 shot at taking either of them out, they’ve proven they are capable of beating anyone, especially if Sam is going to be so clutch at the end of games. It’s ok to get excited about the potential of this team. And if they lose, it’s just football.
Please franchise tag him and build the roster !!!!! Let's not overlook the needs of this team interior offensive line , d-line, corner back needs let's build a championship team for JJ McCarthy
What about Trevor Lawrance to KOC QB rehab school
J.J. McCarthy models his life after the stoics. I can assure you he will not be fazed.
Can I get a Trevor Lawrence rehab?
I won't be around in 40 years but I would love to see Sabrina and Cailyn still friends in a Golden Girls scenario! LOL!
I think if we franchise darnold, I think we should use the trade for the draft and pick up Ashton jeanty. We need a runing back
I've watched Minnesota try to replace Tarkington for 40 years Sam is the best we have ever had , Please don't let him walk because we made a mistake on Cousins !!!!!!!!!
Could we lose the next 3 games? Sure, it is a realistic possibility. I don't know why Mackey is predicting they might get blown out though. How many games under KOC has a team blown us out?
Phil must be going thru something…pretty goofy to have a negative outlook, considering Sam has gone to another level
