Thanks for the howto. I wanted to check if this mod would be an option for me. But as I don't have the tools required and I think I would break it anyways I'll go for the Logitech MX Master 3s (which has been released in the meantime).
I boutght MX master3 after m590. Got suprised that I paid 4 times more for this noisy clicky sound (didnt expect though). Why did logitecker put this click sound at this top level device?
Thank you for the video! very helpful! Do you by any chance have a link to the switches you used? I've searched but all I keep finding is squared silent switches with 2 pins instead of 3
Sorry it has been so long that I purchased them, the seller I purchased from no longer sells them but if you search up Master MX 3 silencers on ebay, one should pop up. I believe they are red now.
For those still interested, this is the link to the silent switch (D2FS-F-N-T). www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/omron-electronics-inc-emc-div/D2FS-F-N-T/4753385
It is so painful that logitech doesn't just offer a quiet click mx master, I haven soldered anything before but try this on m720 just so I don't ruin an expensive mouse learning if I have success I would pick up a mx master and have my end game mouse!!
I bought the switches D2FS-F-N-T 2534C61 and they are almost as loud as the original ones... need to mess with the mouse again when the Khali switches arrive
the switches feel the same way just a little on the lighter feeling. Something you get used to after a while. Still had not had a single issue, thankfully.
Sorry, I just used whatever I had in hand, the majority of my tools I got from www.micromark.com/ such as 4-piece Stainless Steel Mini Tweezer Se , Wiha 65-piece Micro-Bit Ratchet Set But you can find a similar one on amazon ----Apsung 110 in 1 Precision Screwdriver Set with Slotted, Phillips, Torx& More Bits, Non-Slip Magnetic Electronics Tool Kit for Repair iPhone, Android, Computer, Laptop, Watch, Glasses, PC etc (Blue)---- and -----Anbes Soldering Iron Kit, Upgraded 60W Adjustable Temperature Welding Tool with ON-OFF Switch, 8-in-1 Screwdrivers, 2pcs Soldering Iron Tips, Solder Sucker, Wire Cutter,Tweezers,Soldering Iron Stand---- . I could not link the links but if you search those on amazon it should work.
soldering scares me. Heard there are other ways to make a mouse silent- cheaper ways, too. I may just buy the quiet M590 Logitech mouse and it is $49 compared to the MX3 which is $100. It is almost as fancy...almost.
Haha I felt the same way before I tackled this, but I REALLY wanted to use this mouse and I hated how loud it was, I had already purchased it so I figured, why not, and went for it. It was surprisingly easier than I thought. Good-luck if you do try and attempt it! Im sure you will find it surprisingly easy too. :)
@@mariposamory3708 I've fixed my car and washing machine as few times. I love mechanical things. It getting hot solder on me...yikes. But, good for you. GIRL POWER!
@@lechsiz1642 Haha thank you, but I honestly do feel you can do it, this is a breeze compared to what you described you've already fixed. And the soldering part isn't too bad, let's just say In the entire process, I didn't burn myself. So someone experienced like yourself will most likely not either. Cheers!
Great video! This shows me that silencing my MX master mouse is possible. The step by step procedure is well laid out.

the green switches are just as loud as the original ones...
was really surprised to hear a female voice in that kind of video :)
Howdy, Mariposamory. it's a absolutely beautiful video. thanks. :)
Thank you Keaton & Chaplin & Films, hope it helped.
Great work! Do you offer to sell these online? I do not solder so I would instantly buy one from you.
me too!
Me too
they released MX master 3s
it has silent click
Where can I get those same buttons?
To find these switches search for: D2FS-F-N-T you're welcome people from the future who can't stand the clicky.
What degree did you hear your soldering gun up to for this?
8:25 but was it a click? lol nvm. Thanks for sharing this mod i've been waiting for this.
Seems like the switch is the D2FS-F-N-T Omron
i had higher hopes than what it was after doing this mod. Clicks are 50% more quite but still audible unlike your comparison in the end... :``(
Why ! Why would logitech create a clicky mouse like that? WHYYY LOGITECH! No one in the whole world wants a clickmopuse
damn
Right! Or at least give two options for purchase.
Exactly, I returned mine because of it
Success with the Kailh Silent Micro Switches. A nice tactile feeling without being mushy, probably a bit more reistance than the OG.
Got em. Lets see.

Thanks for sharing. Keep the music like this volume if you go on making these. Really nice if you want to follow quietly in the evening ;)

Can you link the quiet click mouse switches?
can you share link where to buy silent buttons?
How about tactile sensation, the same or more mushier?
I have not tried this unfortunately so I am unsure.
Was that a left handed mouse?
Thank you!
You're welcome, glad I could help :)

I believe they have new versions out now, they are in color red. Hope they work out for you.
@@mariposamory3708 Hiya, do you have the exact model number of the switches you have installed on this video? Thanks
@@4evaXeNo I unfortunately don't but you can find similar ones on ebay www.ebay.com/itm/264905238794?hash=item3dad95290a:g:7bMAAOSwH~ZfF2oD
same mistake ;/
Thanks for sharing.. saved me an order.
how do the switches feel? Are they really mushy or are they fine?
the switches feel the same way just a little on the lighter feeling. Something you get used to after a while. Still had not had a single issue, thankfully.
Do you have list of all those tools you're using (the screwdrivers, etc)

Yes, you don't hear it but do you feel the "click"? Do you have the same feedback or does the tactile feedback doesn't register with the new switches?
Depends on the switches you are using
Where did you get the button?
Aliexpress
hello what its micro swtich do you have buy ? for logitech master mx3
