Fun fact - like the Tztaziki based Greek cucumber salad, the raita can be made with cucumber only too. Now indians do add chaat masala (combination of pink salt, chilli, cumin, amchur/dried mango powder, pomegranate seed powder) which can also make it extra digestive and probiotic friendly (as pomegranate seeds have lot of antioxidants) though sumac is ok too. Also feel free to add chopped fresh coriander or parsley leaves if you want extra kick or it's optional. Another variation is called Pachadi and is popular in South India.
I’m glad I watched this video. I remember when I only knew about probiotics..then later found out about prebiotics & now postbiotics. You learn something new everyday. Thank you 🙏🏾 About to add this video to my Pinterest board.❤️

Ahh no wonder growing up, my dad’s indian friends would constantly feed us yogurt mixed with spices whenever they came to visit us, or we came to visit them. They were very healthy aswell. Most of what they ate was home-made and very healthy.
FYI: It has to be REAL Greek yogurt. Way too many on the market are fake, using chemicals and additives to mimic the richness of the real thing. READ THE INGREDIENTS.
You would benefit a lot more from making it yourself. Because for most Indian dishes "Raita" is a side dish and never a main dish atleast here in Toronto. Trust me you would be left disappointed by how little you got. Just follow his directions and that's literally how you make Raita.
The difference in quality is HUGE. It's super duper easy to make at home, but in restaurants the problem is that it starts losing it's flavor as soon as it's made. So it's sitting there for 1-12 hours before you consume it, and it loses all it's freshness and a lot of flavor.
Not me waking up from a dream where I was eating raw meat and after praying I saw this video. God bless you woman of God. THIS IS MY RECORD BREAKING YEAR 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾
I really relate to and appreciate the way you present your awakening experience. It’s so hard to explain so many of these things. Videos I had made trying to explain any of this, are kinda long gone now 😂 lol I could find some relics from 2019 on my old laptop. I still barely know what is even happening. I feel like a floating spine, my whole muscular pulley system and all the fibers and sinews feel like they fizzled and broke down to be rebuilt yet again, on a second or third round of the same cycle of complete dissolving.. I started and stopped smoking weed many times, including almost a whole year off last year.. exercising, yoga, walking for days, or binging foods, fasting, etc.. falling in love with some people, including such crazy dreams and seeing everyone in my dreams. I’ve seen so many people, from high school, from TH-cam, from college, family.. random people.. prophetic dreams, crazy earth shattering deja vus or just dazed and floating around, travelling allll around in a van trying DESPERATELY to find a place! I literally watched an Avatar video breakdown on that chakras bit, it was like a few months ago.. it was titled like “how a kids show perfectly described spiritual awakening chakras” or something. The thing of falling in love was crazy.. I didn’t really have a particular “catalyst” person, per se, but definitely particular people sparked or coincided with new levels and phases and reflections.. one person I felt immensely in love with, sort of spurred me on to finally take the initiative to move out, of my home town to a new place, finally get my own place an apartment, and then from there I’ve been in a van almost 2 years now and been in some different east coast places, it really got hectic!! It still kinda does get hectic 😅 I still think of the people from my journey. But none of them are really there, they never quite were “my people”, or at least, some certain cycle of redemption has yet to return and bring me back into some sort of resolution and reunion with them.. so many mysteries, so many dreams and astral planes, mental spheres.. 🧐😭 I cried so much, and then stopped for a while. Even writing this comment feels disobedient to my higher self. It’s as if he says, “nothing will pan out from this either”, so often I’m called to just take another hit and hang it up to see what tomorrow brings. Day after day after day, knowing I can chill in the same area and stuff, but with no people at all to guide my life with no direction, it is intense training. 😢soul love, I don’t super believe in it anymore 😢 it comes and goes with different faces associated, and different types of “true self” ego image in the dreams.. they are only a memory, when I wake up I recount. They may feel real, or even super vivid, so often more real than the so called vigil state.. I still don’t know if that deep heart love I felt was “real”.. ofc it was real, so to speak, but when you associate it with the woman in your dream that you saw! Well, you don’t even know who that face was.. you may think you do, but in my case, I just found tricks and gaslighting.. unable to prove anything so far, since 2020 I felt strongly as if the only true achievement or like growth I had left was to ultimately unite with a truly mutualistic and harmonious soul relation.. I know many will say, we are all one, we can be in love with all life with all the one conscious universe, life can be so sweet when we see we are the entire ocean in a drop.. but then ego ? returns time and time again saying, yes but WHO is for you? WHO are you?? Nothing but an awareness aperture, why does the non dual philosophy of Ramana maharshi etc, why does the teaching about eternal one self Atman feel so TRUE and YET so LOVELESS?? 😢😂. So impersonal and cold, isn’t that the greatest question, for us about Buddhism and philosophy of the soul and yea 😅 I’m ranting, Your art is dope so cool 💚☀️😃 be well be well my friend 🙏🏻
Try the nom-dairy yogurtlike Silk brand (mostly almond milk) or So Delicious (mostly coconut milk). They add at least 6 different types of prebiotic in their yogurts including the ones he mentioned.
You can skip the Tomatoes and the chillies. Chillies are mostly for taste in this recipe. And I hope you have gotten used to food without chillies(not something I can imagine as an Indian). You can add roasted cumin seeds (powdered or whole), dried coriander powder. To add some more taste. These are the very basic Indian spices. Now, they may not replace chillies salt and these go well together. Although, you can simply add salt. It would do.
Non dairy yogurt/kefir, kimchi, sauerkraut, miso, tempeh, natto, kombucha, are good options for plant based probiotics. Also, eating Whole Food Plant Based in general will help your rosacea while also helping you prevent and reverse basically every chronic disease!
But i believe that, salt can kill lactobacillus bacteria in the curd , so the amount of salt should be used to a minimum. What do you guys think? I would love to know your thoughts...
It's the opposite from what I've read and seen. Salt kills off other bacteria that compete with the Lactobacillus so that it can thrive and do its job, which is why salt is used so much in lactofermentation.
So. 🤔I can use pick de gallo and mix with yogurt, which is similar ingredients with cilantro and lime juice added. Being pro plant based meals , I am thinking about what will I use it on as a sauce or dressing. I miss gyros, been craving for one, but of course non meat! maybe grill and season chopped portobello’s Grill some onions then add some cucumber to that sauce. I love the cucumber taste❤then put it on a nice warm pita flatbread! Could use Naan bread, I love that too if I want to get even more creative throwing spins on cultural and common dishes. Okay, I made myself hungry…just sharing my thoughts. I often cook without recipes. I can make them ❤believe this will turn out so good!!!! Or are you supposed to eat it like that? I am not sure I would.

Greeks also add plenty of pressed garlic, some add dill, olive oil and either vinegar or fresh lemon juice 😊

Raita is a staple food in north Indian culture, we always have it in the fridge, eat it almost daily with curried dishes. 😊
FYI: It has to be REAL Greek yogurt. Way too many on the market are fake, using chemicals and additives to mimic the richness of the real thing. READ THE INGREDIENTS.
Just make yogurt at home . Far easier and no need to worry about chemicals or preservatives
Or, simply make curd at home
What the fuck is REAL greek yoghurt? You CANNOT get a not shitty and liquidy greek yoghurt without stabilisators and added protein.
Which what milk though? You'd have to know someone with a cow or goat if you live in America.
@Serai3 u can make via cow milk. Full fatty milk is best for it.

The difference in quality is HUGE.
It's super duper easy to make at home, but in restaurants the problem is that it starts losing it's flavor as soon as it's made. So it's sitting there for 1-12 hours before you consume it, and it loses all it's freshness and a lot of flavor.

It still kinda does get hectic 😅
I still think of the people from my journey. But none of them are really there, they never quite were “my people”, or at least, some certain cycle of redemption has yet to return and bring me back into some sort of resolution and reunion with them.. so many mysteries, so many dreams and astral planes, mental spheres.. 🧐😭
I cried so much, and then stopped for a while. 😢😂. So impersonal and cold, isn’t that the greatest question, for us about Buddhism and philosophy of the soul and yea 😅 I’m ranting,
Your art is dope so cool 💚☀️😃 be well be well my friend 🙏🏻
Because of my rosacea, the dairy, tomatoes, and especially chilis are a no for me :( i wish they really find a cure for it soon
Maybe try fermented stuff like kimchi, you can ferment cabbage and vegetables yourself. They contain those same bacteria.
Non dairy yogurt/kefir, kimchi, sauerkraut, miso, tempeh, natto, kombucha, are good options for plant based probiotics. Also, eating Whole Food Plant Based in general will help your rosacea while also helping you prevent and reverse basically every chronic disease!

I would love to know your thoughts...
Usually in aryuveda, salt and dairy are not a good combination and can lead to many skin conditions.
It's the opposite from what I've read and seen. Salt kills off other bacteria that compete with the Lactobacillus so that it can thrive and do its job, which is why salt is used so much in lactofermentation.
