All these years later I spent the night at the arcade playing ghostbusters. I played a pro tonight and couldn’t stop playing. Had so much fun. Nostalgia central. Racked up bunch of free games and didn’t wanna leave.
I think that's the best theme in a long time that Stern has done for a game and the layout of the play field looks fun as hell, I'd like to give it a shot if I saw it on location somewhere.
Yeah hopefully I run into one in one of the casinos around here (that's the only place that has arcades I know of with pins) I played TWD not too long ago and yeah man I think it's pretty fun even though I've never watched a single episode of the show lol
Guys. I love this review, and I love this game (I just subscribed). Now as a person who works at a Pinball parlor, and has this game at the Parlor. I noticed you did not talk about 2 things on here. 1. Being the Scoleri brother problem, and 2. (which is my personal favorite) The Screamer. I have lost to many games cause of the (Tony) Scoleri Problem. I have dead hit that pop target and had it just not drop, and air ball it behind my flippers. It's a real problem. I have heard that they sell looser springs for it, but why would they make it so bad in the first place? Now to the screamer! It is great! I have had kids lose it when it happens. Teens scream with it, and people just love it. Hell I've almost got it down to a science (it only happens once a hour). Your scoring on it was great, and the work is amazing, and personally to me. This has been the only game that I know of that has had this many Mods for it. Keep up the good work, and I'll keep a eye out for your next review.
Yeah, The Screamer is something I have never experienced in another pinball game. In an arcade, or during the day, it is good for a laugh. But when I play my home game at midnight and screamer belts out that piercing scream, and my dog then starts howling two levels up in my house and my wife then yells at me, it isn't as fun anymore. I even played at sound level zero when playing at night, only to find that everything is quiet EXCEPT The Screamer and when you get the free game (or match). The piercing scream is certainly something! Is there a way of turning it off?
Would it be possible to get more direct comparisons between the Pro and L.E. versions? The fact that you had them sitting right next to each other and didn't do any sort've comparison, would've loved to see it, hear your thoughts etc.
Like the Banter in these videos . . . Im sure some would like all the technical specs and for you guys to pull out a measuring tape and film . . . But i personally say keep up the banter. Maybe a whole video on *outtakes as well. Great stuff!
Appreciate the feedback. As for the technical specs, we were going to move in that direction but many said the videos were too long so we cut back. A nice balance is what we are aiming for. Plus, with so many game reviews for newer machines, it's tough to tackle all the specs especially when we are rookies. We put outtakes at the end of our videos kind of as Easter eggs for people to find. Many are filthy though, so viewer discretion. Hahaha keep the feedback coming we want these videos to be what the viewers want
Very good review and impressive mods! About the magna slings, it's a John Trudeau innovation, so not sure you would see on another pin but who knows. They'll announce Stars Wars on the 6th of June if I'm not mistaken, and some kind of "Force" slings would fit the theme too. Imagine a "levitating" ball, a bit like the moving one on Dracula, I think that was great, but you don't necessarily need to apply that to the slings. Anyway, I got used to them on my Premium and I seriously love its art package, the angry Stay Puft on the translite and the sides of the backbox is just so much better than the Pro and LE ones, but that's probably just a question of taste :-)
Ahhhh man thanks for the info on SW! We just filmed a "this month on pinside" and talked about how Stern keeps pushing it back but we didnt now a date!!!! Now we do!!!!
Which version of the code are you using? With earlier code, the game was extremely unbalanced and tactics could be boiled down to three words: Storage Facility Multiball. Start that, keep the balls in the bumper area, and you could loop the Mass Hysteria a second time before the first even ended. I gather the overall play is a lot more even now.
SDTM - Been waiting for this exact video! Thanks and great job. You two are boss with a solid review, opinion and fact. Keep up the great work, I look forward to your next (subscribed). Where are you guys located? I too own a premium at home but am responsible for all models at the Museum of Pinball (pro, prem and LE). I, without a doubt, enjoy the premium the best and believe it's also the best bang for the buck. If not for the magna-slings alone. You're mods are over-the-top. What did it cost you to do the powder coating?
Thanks for the support Chuck! Need to make it out to the Museum some time! Heard its fantastic!!! The PC was around $200! Ill double check with Zach but believe that's the correct price
The Museum of Pinball is in a growth stage. We hold Arcade Expo in January and Pinball Madness in October. We have over 500 pin and 450 arcade at last count. We meet once a month to keep the collection "RTP" - ready to play. If you're out our way you're invited to do an episode from the MOP.
Great vid guys. Thinking about picking myself up a pro soon. I love Trudeau games and Ghostbusters in the perfect theme for me. Oh and Harry Potter?! Not even close!!
I was always turned off by the cheapness and low ball times of the Pro, but today I was able to spend some time with an LE and holy shit what a difference. It was amazing and every shot was so satisfying to hit. I didn't blow it up (I suck) but I was able to have some decent length ball times and get some points on the board. That thing gives you an incredible show when you start getting a flow going. If I had the money, I'd have a hard time saying no to that machine.
Great review guys. I'm glad you love your Pro, but I have to say: I love the premium and I love the right ramp. Once its dialed in its very doable and super satisfying to make. Simply replace the 2" hex post with a 1-3/4" post (or 1-5/8") and then you will make that shot every time you hit it. for me, the Premium was the right choice. There are no many additions in the Premium. You've got the subway, mag-slings, ecto-goggles, slimer, the list goes on. Slimer can be updated from Stern at no cost. The revised Slimer works perfectly and is very adjustable. John Trudeau is quoted as saying : The Prem/LE was designed 1st and the Pro had things removed. -- Everyone should at least play this game. Find it in your town just to play it if you can .
Personally , I do not. Both models have airballs and both need the Art's Airball protector & sling guard package. On the premium, I like the left-ramp's subway-ball lock. Making the right-ramp is very satisfying because its not easy. (but not super hard either. I make that shot at least once every time I play.) I also really love the left ramp where the ball travels up and around then down under the playfield. Depending the mode, it will travel straight through & up dropping by the left flipper or go into the ball lock. IMO, the premium ramps offer more variety . The fact that they are metal is bonus. Of course this is a personal preference thing so I'm sure Pro owners will enjoy their machine. They are both awesome machines. I personally feel the Premium offers a lot worthy features & upgrades for the price-bump.
growing up i was all about He-man, transformers, and Ghostbusters. when this machine was announced I was so happy!! I love the artwork! I love the audio!! but, I do not like the way the game plays! I've played it so many times thinking each time would make me change my mind. but I can't get into it. it's such a bummer for me since it is soooo nostalgic for me!
Yeah man it seems to be a love or hate with the pin! It grabs you or it dont. If you only played a premium I would suggest trying a pro. I think it shoots and flows a little better! I really dont like playing a premium very much!
If I had $5k to blow on one of these pinball machines.. I’d probably buy a car instead lol but yeah maybe I need to get a job that can afford me some of these. Great video
I own the GB Prem, I have played the pro. I think the rating on it would be different than the pro. Between the magna slings, The much harder left ramp and the nearly impossible right ramp. I am curious as to why you decided to keep the pro instead of the prem.
played a few premiums and played a few different pros and almost every time the pro just felt like it shot better and was a bit smoother! The premium is great dont get me wrong! The subway and every thing is fantastic but that damn pro just shoots so good to me!
Straight Down The Middle: I'm from Germany we have a NF and a Potc. I like your Show and I just wantet to know because you have got so much expiriance. Maybe you Work With Pinball like At Stern.
Played it on release. Very fast machine but it didn't click with me. It does seem to change hands often. Whether that’s a sign of rating or it could be the code has still to mature. B- for me.
Yeah man its really odd! I find it to be one of the best pins made and so do alot of other people but.......just as many dislike it! Love or hate on GB
Actually...Harry Potter has ridiculous potential as a pin. Given the length of the series, there'd be an ass load of material for a super deep rule set. Damn.
Man i know! And think of the toys and scoops it could have! I also believe it would in some ways help make pins more relevant to the younger generation and possible make them want to play! Harry Potter appeals to a larger variety of people then I think any tittle out does!!!!
Straight Down The Middle: a pinball show Honestly dude, it's such a good idea that I can't imagine another 5 years going by without that being made. And I think you might be absolutely right about bringing in a younger crowd. I feel so sure that this will happen that I'm actually excited for it lol. I just hope Warner Bros. actually coughs up the licensing agreement for it. By the way, keep up the good work! This channel is awesome.
I have 2 questions; 1)How many pinball machines you guys have? And 2) what's the right amount to pins a person should own so it doesn't get boring?? I'll say 4-6 machines is enough
Although I'm shooting for 6-8 machines; I just purchased attack from mars special edition remake & Deadpool Pro. I'm getting in about 5 months Monster Bash special edition and TMNT Pro
I'll repeat that I hate it BUT it may be the one that I play. I've seen them online with center posts, the one I play doesnt have one. The flippers go up at at least 45 degrees and cannot hit anything I shoot at in comparison to ac/dc, star trek, batman '66 etc etc. I beat up the scolari bros targets like nobodys business and I still have no clue what makes them go back down.(timed prolly). Got 200 mil not knowing how I did it. I LOVE the theme and colors and sound but hate the layout and (lack of?) flow. c- to d+ for for me and not even close to a recomendation to anyone unless I find one that plays better.
Flippers can be adjusted and are by various home use owners and even some operators. Some operators do add center post (example NYNY casino in Las Vegas), and outlane skip protectors BUT most operators want you to drop coins in so they don't always make things too easy.
Yeah that outlane is tough! I think that once you get accustomed to how it plays thats when you start to enjoy the game! I thought the same about TWD but once i leaned how it played it was less brutal and i learned how to control the ball better! It is different from most pins!
stynga yeah a view that many take as well. I will be the first to admit that the prem/LE is a bit clunky, but the pro plastic ramps pull it in and make the shooting great, but just my experience. Thanks for the comment buddy!
Picked up a gb yesterday and man, according to the pinside ratings i think this machine is one of the most underrated ones at the moment. I guess the price reflects that as well 🫠
If you guys read this, maybe another review would be cool! Make it something like ''5 years later...'' or something type of series. Would be cool to hear you guys out now that code has changed and such. Obviously this would be cool for all the sterns that released the past 10 years :)
All these years later I spent the night at the arcade playing ghostbusters. I played a pro tonight and couldn’t stop playing. Had so much fun. Nostalgia central. Racked up bunch of free games and didn’t wanna leave.
Yup it’s so damn good even though it’s mean and nasty
Just picked up a GB pro today! Wow I need that powder coating. Great video..as always
You guys have came a long way !! Love watching your videos ! Good times.. Ghost Busters is a gorgeous pin.
Great Review! Could you please post your mod-list? Maybe in the description?
My favorite pin! Dream theme! Music on point!
One of our all time favorites
I think that's the best theme in a long time that Stern has done for a game and the layout of the play field looks fun as hell, I'd like to give it a shot if I saw it on location somewhere.
Really is the best in a while! TWD of coarse is still amazing! Hope you find one to play soon!

In regards to the video, the audio seems very soft/quiet. Nice review as a whole!

I thought you could get a replacement Slimer mech from stern as it don't register hits well.
I've got the newer version so I don't know what its deal is. Haven't contacted Stern about it yet.
growing up i was all about He-man, transformers, and Ghostbusters. when this machine was announced I was so happy!! I love the artwork! I love the audio!! but, I do not like the way the game plays! What happens if you call that phone number on the sign?
This is my favorite table in the pinball arcade.
Beautiful pin with great mods👍🏻
But who's turn is it? That's my only complaint =)
I just realized you are wearing an alien pinball tshirt in this one zach. Come to the darkside!! I want one!
delt35 I can’t afford to come to the dark side hahahahaha or I may consider. 7k for Houdini is as high as I go....for now
If I had $5k to blow on one of these pinball machines.. I’d probably buy a car instead lol but yeah maybe I need to get a job that can afford me some of these.

Finally made it 🤷🏻♂️

@@SDTM Plus you could have a mini-playfield Quidditch pitch. Maybe even have a special "golden snitch" ball for it?
