  • Welcome to the latest episode of Big Trip! Today I am at Norwich on the Great Eastern Main Line where services are seen by Greater Anglia and East Midlands Trains.
Norwich was a fantastic station to film at, there was a good level of frequency and some amazing variety here. The station has a fantastic concourse with a massive clock and reminds me of Brighton except with more diesel trains. I found the view to be quite nice with the junctions just away from the station and Crown Point depot within visible sight. It was nice to see East Midlands Trains here as well, it made for a bit of extra variety and of course the 37s! The station is fantastic, it's so worth the visit.

Great video Kieran!! The Wherry Line is the line to Great Yarmouth. Norwich Station is quite a bit different now with all of GA's new stock coming in we don't see any of the 153s/156s/170s anymore now that the 745s/755s have come in and replaced them. So the 156s have gone to EMR and the 170s have gone to TfW and I dont know what happened to the 153s haha. Nice to see 37s running the Wherry line though, can imagine them thrashing through somewhere like Brundall.

Great video, really enjoyed that! Those 37/4s in the rain just look brilliant, real workhorses, and a fantastic departure. Can't wait for them on the Rhymney Line now. :D

@@liamford6892 Should be starting in the summer timetable change or just after. I've heard 418, 419 and 421 will be working them.

Thank you! They are incredible trains, they rarely seem to get issues which is even better for such an old loco. Yes when they reach Rhymney that'll be amazing.

Awesome Video Bud :) Can't beat a pair of good ol' 37's. The name of the Great Yarmouth Line is The Wherry Lines.

I was thinking that with the 153 stabled in the middle road, it would have made great photo opportunities when both platforms are occupied, thumbs up from me mate, thoroughly enjoyed watching

Question of the video: what is the name of the line to Great Yarmouth?
    Answer: the Wherry Lines!
I should probably get to Norwich before all the trains are class 755s (I think that’s what they are) except the emt services, although I reckon emt are going to replace the 158s :(
    Great vid mate!

Wherry Lines is correct! Also yes they are 755s but shorter formed units are the 745s and they have a massive visible generator you can see just after the second carriage. The 158s aren't going anywhere for a while bud so don't fret. 😊
