Flood Brothers Mack MR Formula Heil 5000 Rear Loader Garbage Truck

Today I am proud to present a true relic from Flood Brothers’ lineup of commercial rear loaders: A Formula Heil 5000 atop a Mack MR! I’ve always wanted to film one of these, but I never thought I’d get the opportunity because I don’t go to Chicago too often. I really dig the look of these old ribbed Heil bodies, and seeing one done up in Flood’s scheme is even cooler in my opinion. They still have a handful of these that they’ve taken really good care of, and especially after watching this I’d say they still have a lot of life left. The shop has the speed of the packer and kickbar set pretty high too, which only made it more fun to watch and combined with the growl of this MR it sure was a treat. The driver was also super cool, so props to him for making this one possible. He was going to dump after the first stop I found him at, but he grabbed a couple more stops for me so that I could get a video which was really nice of him, and I also got to watch the truck pack out too. Not much else to say, but I hope you all enjoy this one!

Waste Management of Telford, Pa had a few of these back in the late 1990s through mid summer of 2007. They retired the last of these in 2007

Awesome find Grant! Glad that the driver did a few extra stops for you. Like the Flood Brothers paint scheme on this truck. The growl on this truck is amazing. Love the packing cycle as well. These trucks definitely are gonna be around for a while. Great work as always!

Wow man this thing is a literal growling beast. Your so lucky they still have these older Macks. Great vid man keep up the great work man. By chance what year is this thing? My guess is anywhere from 2003-1997. That’s just my guess.
