Thank you again for a nice reaction to my favorite singer! The title of the song is "Gebed" (Afrikaans for "Prayer"), originally sung by Koos Du Plessis. It was broadcast live early on Tuesday morning at "Die Groot Ontbyt" (the big breakfast) show on South African TV. Before her performance Amira also was interviewed together with Selim Kagee about their upcoming concert "Memorable Memories" which took place on Sunday, June 9th. "Op daai noot" is Afrikaans and means "on that note" (or perhaps: Some beautiful notes). Amira has been living in South Africa for 6 1/2 years now and is studying BMus (Bachelor of Music) at the University of Pretoria. I loved you Reactions to the Sydnie Christmas Audition on BGT. She applied herself for BGT and didn't know if she would pass the Audition, so, she decided to be funny. When she got the Golden Buzzer it shocked her and her legs went. Her next song was My Way except she sang it Her Way. It was amazing. Her third song was Over The Rainbow and she even made Simon get emotional.

Always so sweet and lovely is Amira: imho, Afrikaans words sound richer more rounded than Dutch words do, so I really like it when Amira sings Afrikaans songs, and her accent is adjusting - and she jokes about it, too.. "The Holy City/Jerusalem" she sings only in Afrikaans, by the way, with a most poetic choice of lyrics, here and there, compared to the traditional hymn. Her family in South Africa are Afrikaners at home, since her mother is one, but Amira remembers her Dutch when visiting Holland and her father, too: amazing, but the Dutch seem to be readily multilingual. I heard once they must, in Holland, have three foreign languages basically ready to use if they want to go to university, even within their country. You mentioned your memory of Amira's boyfriend, well: On her facebook page at the end of last year I recall she posted a short explanation that she and her boyfriend had broken up at that time since she had no serious interest in romance at this time in her life. Everyone with her in her photos from now on are all friends of hers, she said as well. So, her story continues.
