Hi Amanda! Thanks for the question. Yes it's the same binding off method. You can find it here: www.needlepointers.com/main/youtubecontent.aspx?youtubepageid=274
How do I fix a missed loop? I have just one loop that I left out. I’m tempted to unravel to that spot, but wondered if there’s a way to incorporate that missed loop without it being too noticeable?
If you don't want to unravel it, you could cut the loop open at the top and then weave the ends into the other stitches beside the loop. Don't cut it near the base of the loop as it will open it up too much. Happy Stitching!
You should use plain color. It shows up much better. Light colors. I have used light yellow, light gray, cream, lilac, then used navy blue, it's so hard to see the stitchs. The light ones show up so much better. Very pretty to.
Would this be a good pattern for the following ages 6,5,3&2 year olds as a blanket? Also how many loops to start and how many rows? Also how many skeins of Loop Yarn for each blanket?
Hi Teresa. Thank you for your interest in our video tutorial on the criss-cross stitch. I have not made a blanket with this stitch myself, but I see that Yarnspirations has two free patterns for blankets available here: www.yarnspirations.com/bernat-alize-ez-criss-cross-baby-blanket/BRN0202-011870M.html#q=loop+yarn+criss+cross&includeContent=true&start=1 and here: www.yarnspirations.com/bernat-alize-ez-criss-cross-afghan/BRN0502-011882M.html#q=loop+yarn+criss+cross&includeContent=true&start=3. @@Needlepointers So binding off is the same for every type of stitch? I'm making a criss-cross pillow right now and though I can pretty much follow what you're doing, I'm still confused about the end of rows, when to leave the last one unworked, etc. I started this afternoon, but stopped after a few rows cuz it turned out not to be wide enough for the pillow, need more loops to start. But when I got to the end of the last row, something just wasn't right and I couldn't figure out what the problem was. Could you clarify, please, when to leave the last loop unworked and when to work it in (I know you mention it in the vid, but I still can't figure it out, I need to see it up close and personal! ;-) ). Also, I noticed that fairly large holes developed as I went along, almost like I was missing loops, but I wasn't. It may be that I was always placing the left loop over the right regardless of which way I was working the row. Reading a comment above, you say to go left over right (when I'm working left to right), or right over left (when I work right to left) depending on which direction we work the yarn. Maybe the holes will close up when I do it correctly?! Clarification very soon would be excellent and hugely appreciated as I want to get this pillow done (a belated birthday gift)!
