    Thanks for the video. Have had mine for a couple months now - really enjoy it! Same concerns with the battery door… hoping it holds up, but not overly confident in the little plastic retainer clip.

    Great video Jimmy. I have an earlier model of the Toro Flex Force mower. Mine has a 6.0 amp battery but I am able to cut my neighbors and my own lawn on a charge. We live in narrow lot homes in Florida. The fronts are 50 ft each and they are about 100 ft deep. I really like that you do such an in depth video. It is all the little things added together that make a good product and you do a good job with that.

    Mine was delivered broken. The battery hood latch was snapped off and so I had to take off the spring so the lid wouldn’t keep opening. You’re right about that…they should have beefed that up.

    Ordered this mower as I just moved into my first own house. Got delivered with one of the arms absolutely bent out of shape. Took a week to deliver and you can imagine the absolute shape the lawn was in after the previous owner didn't mow it for what looks like 2-3 weeks. Now I get to wait a week for the return to checkout and ship out a replacement another week later. The HOA is going to kill me.

    Question about the blades? Are the blades the same thickness blades as the gas powered mowers

    Beautiful mower! I have a Honda HRX217 which I bought because of the 3/4” cut height. I would definitely make the switch to this mower if the opportunity arises. How low can this mower cut?

    Can you turn the lights on and off or so they stay on all the time? I’m concerned about them draining the battery some if they are always on.

      You cannot toggle the lights. But they are LED. Very minimal battery draw. But I wish you had control over them.

    Please review the personal pace system in detail especially in more confined turning spaces. I have the previous model Super recycler and I often find the drive still engaged when trying to pull the mower backwards, it is a pain to have to push it forward a bit to have to disengage it to have it move easily backwards.

    • @SiXX5150
      @SiXX5150 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All Personal Pace models are this way… it’s the primary quirk that one has to work around. I’ve been using this exact mower since early June… and what I’ve learned to do is keep one hand on the PP handle, and move one down to the bar below… then use the hand on the bar to do the “pushing” when I’m in tight spaces to keep PP from engaging. I feel the previous Toro PP handle design was better for this personally (it was much smaller), but that’s just my opinion.

    • @troutman1951
      @troutman1951 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Still, not so easy and makes mowing not so fun. Since this my first self propelled mower I am not impressed, especially from Toro. I will be looking at purely push alternatives.

    • @TheGOF
      @TheGOF 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your Personal Pace just needs adjusting. I believe the instructions are in the manual, or look around on YT. Mine has been perfect for four years and counting.

    • @SiXX5150
      @SiXX5150 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheGOF I think he’s referring to how it needs a few inches to “unlock” when backing off the PP handle. Otherwise the rear tires are still engaged and drag or have heavy resistance when pulling backwards. I’ve learned to work around it (using the method I mentioned above), but from what I’ve experienced - adjusting the PP doesn’t resolve it, but rather adjusts the “sensitivity” of PP when being used. At the end of the day, all self propel systems have some sort of quirk… but PP is by far the best in my opinion and the only one I will use.

    • @TheGOF
      @TheGOF 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SiXX5150 The condition described is a symptom of an out of adjustment Personal Pace system. The adjustment is on the cable from the handle to the drive system. On my 2018 it’s a large plastic knob that allows the cable to be repositioned. Mine has never needed adjusting so I’ve never touched it.

    Went with the Milwaukee instead of this Toro. I've only ever used toros in the past but could not get over the fact they still have the same height adjustment on each wheel? That got really old for me and in time these wear out... I also never had a personal pace and don't think I could get used to that type of mechanism.

    hey I was wondering if you could test out a theory for me . i own a toro 60v mower . i found that cutting grass with the bag on lasted longer than just mulching. Can you do a video on this and teach the public .

    • @JimmyLewisMows
      @JimmyLewisMows  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting. My suspicion is that bagging clippings adds additional weight to the mower, which would require more battery power. I will test and include that in my upcoming review. Thanks.

    • @LL-mt2nz

      Bagging and side discharging uses less battery. Mulching capability requires the most battery power of the three modes

  • @hongsitu3429

    At that price, mower height adjustments should be one touch, not wheel by wheel. Handlebar height and angle adjustments should be built in and tool less. If Ego can do all of those on all their models, this just makes Toro look lazy. But it does have a nifty pop up battery door.

    • @JimmyLewisMows

      A wheel by wheel height adjusting system results in a more rigid deck as oppose to a floating mechanism such as a “one touch”.

  • @vengeance7x6661
    @vengeance7x6661 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    For the money, I'll still take the Ego over this. Better battery life and performance overall for a homeowner. I have almost 17k square feet and can mow the whole thing on a single charge. Toro can't come close, and even if they do eventually, it will be hard to switch after investing in multiple tools and batteries. Ego is not perfect, but they still don't have any good competition yet

    the handle adjusting and mulch plug is a step backward from the regular vortex that I have. Seriously someone at toro should be fired, this is your flagship model, so should be easier it's already more expensive. Its bad enough you're still using 4 adjustment levers and a metal body. Who here mows in the dark?

    • @LL-mt2nz
      @LL-mt2nz ปีที่แล้ว

      The mulching plug is the same used in the commercial mower. Makes a tigher seal unlike the one with the lever. And it’s easy to take out. Push the tab and lift straight up.
