Dates are so incredible! Coconut oil is my holy grail food & beauty item I love it so much :) Skin has improved a lot from eating it and using it to take off makeup etc...it's even an unreal hair mask, guys! Brett please do this more often I got some brill tips from this
Love that you promote good health and a good diet and not just the "eat whatever you want as long as it fits your macros" type of lifestyle. Also, cool car. :D
Haha. Well with some people, the macronutrient/micronutrient based diet can work. Like i always say, different things work for different people! The goal is to find out what works best for you! All depends on how willing you are to sacrifice things that you enjoy to get better/healthier at something. Thanks for watching ! Also, car is not mine. It's Carli's...but we always take it to go food shppping since we buy so much lmao! Thanks again! MelonMan96
brettcap That's true! But why can't that style of diet work for you? I just thought you were into organic and eating healthy cos you wanted to? I do a bit of both, I enjoy eating healthy like you but I also count macros so I can be flexible with it if I ever want/need to :)
Hey Brett, something i think that would be helpful is doing a video where you bought groceries on a budget, so it will help us! "Groceries under $100" something of that sort, But love this video! Keep it up👍
I agree. I will definitely throw a video together for shopping for healthy foods on a budget. This was my first healthy shop video and it was kind of last minute so it was a tad rushed but the next video will cover what you are requesting you have my word! :) Esther Burgos
I love your healthy food videos. It inspires me to cook with healthier foods and not buy all that junk at the supermarket. Thank you so much for all your great tips!
I loved this. I have kinda fallen back on my healthy eating because I'm back home with my family from college and I have a new summer office job.My dad, specifically, is not the healthy eater in the house and does lost of the grocery shopping. So this helps me incorporate some healthy options for us to buy as a family! Thanks Brett :)
Love your videos so much! Awesome products you bought, too! I would recommend bringing your own bags to the grocery store so you don't waste so many bags though!!!
Hi Brett! You have taught me so much on how to eat more healthier and I am so grateful for that! I wanted to know more about the pasta noodles you purchased if possible maybe you can do a recipe dish on them? Thank you so much for the inspiration!!!!!!!!
Manuka is from New Zealand (like me!!). You can put it on burns and wounds, it is so healing and antibacterial!! By the way, LOVE you Brett and your vids! Keep them coming!!
Thanks for sharing, I love your videos. But I really enjoy the tips on some of this organic items that I must try now specially the honey. Please make more videos like this, you have no idea how much they will help me in my long journey to get healthy. I like your personality and attitude, it makes the video easy to watch.
Great video! Id love to see you do a video about the benefits of buying organic foods. Also for those of us on a budget what are the most important foods to buy organic?
Thank you for this video, it will help me a lot next time I go food shopping! I'm a new subscriber... I was watching all your health videos and you inspired me to take better care of my body. Thanks and awesome videos! :)
i had no idea ghee even existed until this video. thank you so much! ive been looking for a butter substitute for so long. i used to love butter but i finally started counting calories and watching what i eat (and ive lost 31 lbs!). thank you for sharing your groceries with us! excited to try some new healthy recipes, as a repetitive diet can get pretty old really fast :) Brett Cap
All the Braggs products are very good...based on your recommendations I am going to try the Manuca honey and the spelt pasta...thank you for taking the time to do all these videos.
brettcap Ghee has actually been in Indian cuisine for ages! It is basically clarified butter--the milk component to the butter is skimmed off so all you have left is the fat component (for the lack of better phrasing lol). We usually make ghee at home by melting butter in a saucepan and skimming off the topmost layer of milk solids (this part will be white, while the remaining ghee is golden yellow). Careful though, I would consume it in extreme moderation. Ghee is extremely high in saturated fat (146% DV) and cholesterol. One could even argue that ghee is a major contributor to India's diabetes and heart disease epidemics :( But if you limit your ghee use to reasonable serving sizes, just couple times a week, you will be just fine! With that said, good luck with your cooking adventures and I'm looking forward to seeing how you cook with ghee! :-)
Love to know more about that manuka honey! I really hope I can soon shop organic. When I buy meat I try to do organic. Also I think I'll try those pastas too! And dates. Great video
great vid brett! I love dates and coconut oil! Cant wait for you new recipe videos with the healthy spelt pasta and sweet potatoes! i love making sweet potato fries! I just cut them up, steam them for 10 minutes and then bake them at 350F for about 20 mins, 10 each side and its so yummy! you dont even need to add any oil! Just sprinkle some pink salt on top and you are done!
This was super helpful! Could you post a video specifically on vegetables? I'm curious about types, varieties, and amount I should be eating. Do you think a vegan/frugavore diet can be healthy? ?
Ohhh I've been looking for a healthy macaroni salad!! Please do a video on the honey... I've just recently started incorporating raw honey into my smoothies and it's delicious!!
A video on the honey would be great! I'm curious. Also, cooking with kale? I typically just juice with it but would love to use it in some dishes. Just a thought. Thanks!
Hey Brett!(: I loved this video! I've been watching Carli for awhile now and her body is to die for! I'm tired of being unhealthy and not looking my best and I want to make a change and I'm going to go off of your videos for my workouts! I just bought a year membership to anytime fitness and I've been nervous to go and get started but after watching your videos I feel really motivated! Also, you should really look into doing online training because I would join and I'm sure thousands of others would too!(:
Hey Brett, I was wondering if you could do a video on what you and Carly would eat on days where you had absolutly no time to cook or prep your meals, and you had to leave the house or in between breaks that last up to just 30 mins.. I'm always working so I tend to have to eat out instead of home.. what are your go to fast and quick food places you would go to on days like that? -THANKS!
Ghee is an Indian butter replacement and from I've seen in the stores its very high in cholesterol. It might not be the best idea for a substitute. But if you wanted you could make your own version of ghee using butter from whip cream and melting it then letting it sit for a couple of hours.
Nice video!! I wanted to thank you for the relora recommendation I just started to use it and its AMAZING!!! I noticed a huge difference. Also thank you for recommending matefit I just got the goji blast I love this as well it tastes great. I also purchased the metabolism booster I just received it today so we will see how it is I have high hopes tho. These products are the great its nice to have something recommended that actually works. Thank you again!!
I never heard of manuka honey! I'll definitive be looking that up :) Can't thankk you enough brett for your videos and the motivation! Im a university student and i live with my parents so it's a bit difficult to eat on track with them making their own dinners and also finding the time to make my own ahaa The cooking videos you make are always so helpful! can't wait to see the macaroni salad video! thanks again!
Manuka Honey is the best! It helped clear my skin! I used it as a facial and it did wonders. I couldn't find it in stores and had to order it online. Well worth it :)
Love your videos Brett! Any advice on best time intervals to eat for someone who is trying to reduce caloric intake per day by about 260-500 calories? I sometimes find I consume less in the earlier part of the day and more at night but not sure if that's beneficial. A time schedule based off your opinion would be great! Thanks. Also I'm usually full enough in between meals so I don't have to snack. Is 2 small meals and 1 bigger for dinner a healthy breakdown for my metabolism to not slow too much?
Hey Brett could u do a video about how to still eat healthy on vacation... We're going on vacation in 4 weeks and I'm nervous me and my husband will get off track cuz people we stay with might not eat healthy and don't want to be rude and not eat and don't wanna run to fast food places!!! I do always pack a cooler with healthy snack for the long drive so maybe some ideas for what to pack in a cooler for vacation trips as well!!! I think this would be beneficial to a lot of us especially since its summer and vacation traveling starts!!!:) FYI: thanks for the awesome videos.. U and Carli have helped me and my husband in so many ways, whether its fitness or beauty!!!:) love u guys!!!:)
I definitely will! Just saw a recipe for cauliflower crusted pizza too! :) usually make a shop once a week...but it also depends on what I am doing. I am always in and out of the supermarket getting little things as well. You can never go too many times as long as you are smart with what you are doing! Synderella X
Can get pricy, I know. But you can navigate aroudn and find some really good products for great prices...but even so, I'd rather pay more for chemical-free food. Lucy
Please do these as much as possible, i recently started changing my diet dramatically and these videos are really educating me ! DEFINITELY buying that honey for me and my boyfriend! I love your suggestions for butter and oil substitutes. Maybe you can do a video on substituting things like oil salt sugar etc. I'd be great! Love your channel & Carli's! God bless & keep up the awesome content its going to help change my diet :D
My boyfriend and I have been living together for over a year it would be nice to see like a full day of meals we are trying to be healthier we just aren't sure on where to start this has helped us thank you. !
Hey Brett, I really hope you read this comment. I really enjoyed this video and honestly your others as well. There were definitely a lot of items that I purchase. :) I really appreciate how you share positive knowledge with everyone and wanted to share some pointers with you as well. 1) I noticed that you said that you drink ICED lemon juice first thing in the morning but I recommend that you drink it lukewarm to warm. Lemon juice is amazing stuff..really keeps those kidney stones away and balances your PH. But drinking a COLD glass of anything first thing in the morning is a definite no-no. Always a glass of lukewarm/warm water first thing in the morning and before bed to help ease your digestive system and your metabolism. Believe me it's amazingly soothing/calming and it will do just that for you digestive system as well. 2) I saw that you purchased molasses...and I heard you use it for drinks and what not and I really wanted to recommend Stevia. Not just any brand but this one specifically...not bitter compared to others and very clean. Really..you will thank me. It's the best stuff on earth and my bf's mother who's diabetic loves these as well since they are great substitutes for sugar that's clean, healthy and most importantly doesn't higher your blood sugar level. www.google.com/shopping/product/15739436426451534135?client=safari&rls=en&biw=1435&bih=861&sclient=psy-ab&q=nu+stevia+no+carb+blend&oq=nu+stevia+no+carb+blend&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_cp.r_qf.&bvm=bv.76247554,d.cWc&tch=1&ech=1&psi=SKIjVM-0NOq1sQTcrIKQBA.1411621450076.5&sa=X&ei=d6IjVLrbKY_CsAS_qIHgCw&ved=0CF8Q8wIwAA 3) Read this book "Healthy at 100" I highly recommend. I am pretty sure you'll find it interesting. I used to like (never loved) burgers and red meat (how can you resist a good filet mignon???!?) But now (and for the past 2 years) have avoided red meat completely. This book will go in depth as to why red meat is so harmful. Just like gluten and dairy, red meat is something that's not really meant for our body and digestive system. Based on what your videos show you are by far one of the few fitness men who eat clean. There are those fitness guys who prepare all these "healthy lean meals" with msg seasoning and loads of salt...I mean sort of defeats the purpose of the whole concept of health awareness. I really enjoy how you truly try to stay clean in both your lifestyle and food. I really hope you read this comment through and take up on that book! I have so many more other book recommendations that will interest you but I thought that was a good start. P.S. major apologies for this massive comment but had to share. P.P.S. You and Carli ....
Love the video Brett! However... I work at wegmans and the organic strawberries always have a green label on the top of the box. Yellow is not organic. Just so you know for next time! Keep up the amazing work! Can't wait for more videos :)
I LOVE Bragg's ACV! I go through lots of that stuff. I drink shots of it, put it in my food and use it diluted 1:1 as a facial toner. (Yes, it is stinky for a few minutes -- but it has made my pores DISAPPEAR!).
And I totally agree with cooking with Coconut oil I Love Learning new things about Nutrition I have heard that coconut oil is the only oil that you should cook with as it does not turn carcinogenic at high heat temps :)
Hey Bret, could you explain more about how manuka honey helps? And also would you recommend eating the berries as they are or mixing into some dish (e.g. Salad)?
it will be great if you can talk more about both, the honey and the ghee! love the ghee idea because i am trying to lessen the amount of casein in my son's diet - but never realized that there was no casein in ghee! thanks!
What store do you find all of this stuff at? None of the big chain stores around here carry a very big variety of organic food. The health food stores are pretty small too
Great video! Question: I read that when flaxseeds are pre - ground they lose some of their health benefits, so it's better to buy them whole and grind them up (in a coffee grinder) just before using them, is that true? If I'm not mistaken the ones you bought were already ground...thanks!
Thank you for introducing me to the raw coconut aminos seasoning! It's delish. I'm an Asian that tends to OD on soy sauce and I've been looking for a healthier alternative. Keep the tips coming!
I really want to start eating better and working out lol, but its so hard to start! Ever since i got married i gained like 10 pounds because all we do is eat haha! But you are motivating me to start! Today will be the day.
What store did you shop at? And where about do you live? The only near by stores that have some organic by me are Sprout's, Fresh & Easy, and Trader Joe's. You have pretty much all organic foods and things I don't even see there that I would love to buy.
brettcap i know its not really but around the holidays my family always mkae dates wrapped in bacon. They are AMAZINGGGGGG. On a cheat day around the holidays you have to make them and lmk how you guys like them. you just use a whole date or chop it in half. chop the bacon in half and wrap it around the date and stick a toothpick through them. then pop them in the over wherever you go or do it before you leave, just until bacon is crispy and Voila! An awesomeeee appetizer. Give it a try!!! xo
I love grocery shopping, so this videos was perfect! Thanks Brett!
Happy to share Rose, thank you for watching! :D Rose Kimberly
Dates are so incredible! Coconut oil is my holy grail food & beauty item I love it so much :) Skin has improved a lot from eating it and using it to take off makeup etc...it's even an unreal hair mask, guys! Brett please do this more often I got some brill tips from this

I work at an organic local produce store & it's great to have you talk about all these organic products!
I definitely will! Just saw a recipe for cauliflower crusted pizza too! :) usually make a shop once a week...but it also depends on what I am doing. Hey Brett, I really hope you read this comment. I really enjoyed this video and honestly your others as well.
There were definitely a lot of items that I purchase. :) I really appreciate how you share positive knowledge with everyone and wanted to share some pointers with you as well.

3) Read this book "Healthy at 100" I highly recommend.
Great video .. Def going to try the Manuka honey :) keep up the good work ، you are doing great 😊
I LOVE Bragg's ACV!
Salad)?
Damn you go to the market like that :) lol loved this video ;) great tips
I got that apple cider vinegar, it is very good for you I know,,, but did not know what to put it in or use it with,,,, a dressing sounds perfect !
SO excited to buy manuka honey now!! Thank you!
Thank you bratt u deftly changed my mind on things 😊😊😊👍👍
sooo happy you made this video!
Loved it!!thank you...great tips:)
it will be great if you can talk more about both, the honey and the ghee! love the ghee idea because i am trying to lessen the amount of casein in my son's diet - but never realized that there was no casein in ghee! thanks!
Really looking forward to the video on 'Sweet Potatoes'. In my culture we eat them often and I'm always looking for creative ways of cooking them. :)
I loved this video. Please do more Brett!
I would love to see how you use the ghee and manuka. Great video thank you : )
Great video. Always motivates me to stay on track with my healthy eating. Really need to start eating more organics
brettcap i know its not really but around the holidays my family always mkae dates wrapped in bacon. Give it a try!!! xo
