    So gorgeous Kim! I know exactly what you mean about mixing up that pour over color thinner than your are comfortable with for this technique to work. But that thin pain is really the key to success! I love how it looks on the rectangular canvas! I've only done square canvases as well. Great job!

    Wow brilliant tutorial, great colours, I find if I use aqua regardless of make it appears dominant but a great cell maker. Weird about the berry but it does look cool just in one corner. So cool how some of the cells are just two colours with one out and one inner circle. Hugs G x

    I've been trying to get one of these pearl pour cells tutorials. Hopefully this one will work for me. I'm still not sure how much base paint is needed for what ever size canvas you have so there's enough but not too much.

    • @HartAcrylicArt
      @HartAcrylicArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It’s a bit of guesswork every time I try a new sized canvas, but I usually do a little less of the metallics than the pour over paint and the pour over paint is usually enough to do a base coat. So for this, there was about 8 ounces of black paint.

    • @vickiberry7302
      @vickiberry7302 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your response. Ok I tried your technique. This one turned out best of any I've tried however I have some fairly deep cracking in the center so I'm not sure exactly where I need to adjust. The colors you mentioned are only floetrol and paint no water. Those seemed slightly thick. But I used it as per your recipe. The black base I'd say I used approximately 6 oz on a 14x14 square canvas, and 4 1/2 ounces of the color, using those colors you suggested. I wish I could send you a picture so you could see what I'm talking about and get your expertise opinion on if I need to thin the colors a bit, or use less of the base or exactly what you might think my problem was. Maybe my base was too thin. It's still kind of cool and I'm going to varnish it since I can't afford the resin. I do want to keep it but I'd love to know what adjustments I need to make for future success. Thank you for your help.

    • @HartAcrylicArt
      @HartAcrylicArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@vickiberry7302 my best guess is maybe it was still a little thick or maybe not enough paint was tilted off the canvas. Unfortunately every paint, even the same color and same brand, can be a different consistency when you buy it so the mixing ratios are kind of a starting point and then you have to adjust from there. It took me quite a bit of practice before I could create these. Best of luck 😊

    • @vickiberry7302
      @vickiberry7302 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HartAcrylicArt Thank you again for your in put. I wondered it was possibly not enough paint runoff, but at the same time I was afraid of losing too much of the color to create cells so I guess it's just a learning process trial and error, but for the first time with this I don't think it turned out too bad. Thank you for your guidance and looking forward to Future paintings from you

      @@vickiberry7302 Hi Vicki as a rule of thumb I take the length add it to the width of the canvas and divide that by 29,, pretty much every time I'll have about the right amount.

    It's so freaking beautiful...WOW...Question....is the majority of paint on the canvas the black paint or the colors?

    • @HartAcrylicArt
      @HartAcrylicArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks!! There’s always a little more black than the color, but a lot of it gets tilted off the canvas.

      @@HartAcrylicArt Thank u so much for responding...I couldn't quite figure it out...looking at other comments you made I see now I did not use enough black paint..you said you used 8oz black ...so how many oz color did u use? I'm using this exact size canvas and also using Extreme sheen

    • @HartAcrylicArt
      @HartAcrylicArt  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Whay is a flow acrylic black? Is it just regular acrylic black paint? Can I use regular acrylic black paint to do one of these?

    • @HartAcrylicArt
      @HartAcrylicArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s regular black paint; it’s just thinner than higher quality acrylics so it takes less floetrol and water to thin it.

    Hi,
    Me again, with another question...
    On your 14" x 14" how much of the black flow acrylic do you use? I know it a 1:1 and thinned with water but what's about the measurement once all that is done?

    • @HartAcrylicArt
      @HartAcrylicArt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Honestly, it’s been a while since I’ve done pouring… I think it was about a full 8 oz cup of paint with all of the thinners added. If you end up with too much black, you can tilt the canvas a little more to compensate. Adding too much of the metallic paint is worse because it’s harder to tilt it off the canvas being that it’s thicker. Hope that helps.

    • @mrabelone31
