Congratulations Erika and Jason! It was such an honor to capture your amazing day, in a fun way. We had a blast and I know this is will certainly be a wedding I'll never forget. Both your families were wonderfully supportive. Congratulations to you both and enjoy the journey.
    BACK STORY
Last fall, when I bought my iPhone 8 Plus, with 256GBs of storage and an amazing camera. I had a goal for 2018! It was to shoot an ENTIRE WEDDING with just phones and I knew it would take an adventurous couple to do so. So grateful for these two, in trusting us and hiring us with their wedding, in this crazy way.
It wasn’t easy shooting with only phones. We had to fully charge the phones 3 times, two Anker power banks, Moment lenses (60mm & 16mm), RØDE Microphones , DJI gimbal, ikan lights, Tascam Audio Recorders, Zoom h5, Benro tripods, and several stabilizers to make it happen.
We had all our gear as backup, just in case and the minivan was packed! We had more gear at this wedding than our normal weddings, just in case. I love challenges and this was one of them for 2018. Did I mention this is an 8 minute video?!!!!

Hello, it is sure, the gear is not everything, but in that video the problem isn't the gear, but everything else: the frame, the structure , the composition etc... there are some basics in video, if you use them so for sure you can use a smartphone, even 2 for having more frames , more point of view and you would have good results as well.

How cool that they have done this experiment with the iphone, it can become a good audiovisual tool. Personally I think that even so, the cell phone is far from being something 'cinematic' for this type of productions, we are talking about dynamic range, color, blur, etc.
Let us consider that it is the most special moment of the couple, as videographers we must always deliver the best work, the quality and the narrative are in our hands.
In the same way, I repeat, it is cool that they have done this experiment, visually it serves the rest of us as references.

Hey, what technique would be the best to record the voice of the different person talking? Sometimes we have to be quite far away.

1080p or 4K depends on your preference and phone. I like 4K
If your editing timeline is 24fps. You can slow anything higher than that down and not look jittery. Like 30, 48, 60, 120, 240... The higher the FPS, the more you can slow it down. Is that helpful?

I tried a few, but ended going with Camera Roll because it was so much faster. Didn't want to miss the moments.
