I appreciate a similarity with the correspondent verbs in Spanish: advocate,-abogar. amplify-amplificar, and so on. Most of them the same root, in spite they're different languages. You have a very beautiful pronunciation, besides.Great lesson
so far I like you cause in this video, the first i watch, you don't try to be a comedian and make the lesson appear to be a joke or laugh at what your saying. Thanks.
Dear Ma'am I watch you here with all my concentration and with my full focus and attentions. I noticed that most of these verbs have some kind of Latin roots, so I guess they sound "sophisticated" or high level also for this reason ahah. Besides, being Italian, I could already grasp the meaning of lots of them even before your explanation and that's how fascinating languages can be in their similarities! Awesome video as always Lucy, thank you ^_^!
Yes, as a Brazilian I understood most of this words. They're constantly used in Portuguese. Awesome video to train the pronunciation of this words in English.
@@josecuervo4122 You're right ! I am french and almost every word in this video is very close with french words. :) To amplify = amplifier To articulate = articuler To comprehend = comprendre To corroborate = corroborer To decipher = déchiffrer To differentiate = différencier To dissect = disséquer To efface = effacer To elaborate = elaborer To exacerbate = exacerber To extrapolate = extrapoler To facilitate = faciliter To galvanize = galvaniser To integrate = intégrer To mitigate = mitiger To perceive = percevoir To reconcile = se réconcilier
@@josecuervo4122 Oh yes for sure! French has deeply influenced the English language throughout the centuries, we can just think of words such as aubergine, courgette, etc and so Italian, Spanish and the romance languages in general, which have the same Latin roots as French, may let these words be easier to understand.
I rarely use C1/C2 or higher level verbs in my daily communication with other people, as it makes my listeners' understanding more difficult. I try to use B1/B2 verbs for maximum outreach potential.
Thank you, Lucy! I've been following you for a while and it's a pleasure to listen to your voice and pronunciation! You're awesome! Thank you once again 🙏

Hi Lucy, I've performed the level test and I got a C2 level. However, to be honest, I firmly believe that my current and real level is C1, without a shadow of a doubt. On the other hand, this result has been a great news for me and it encourages me to improve my english as much as possible. Thaks for the videos.
Hello, Lucy. Greeting from Kazakhstan. I'm Gulziya. Thank you for providing such a detailed explanation of the words use..The way of your explaining the patterns is great!!!
I have just discovered that I already know 20 of them..from reading and academic books(I study in English)..however, I hardly use any of them in speaking 🙈 thank you Lucy for getting them out from books 🌹🌹
Hi Lucy. This video is fascinating!! I loved it!! Greetings from Chile. Chile is the Latin American country with the most British ancestry. Reason why, Chile is the Latin American country with the highest per capita cosumption of tea. And also, it is the only country in Latin America where the cosumption of tea exceeds that of coffee. We Chileans love to drink tea at any time of the day. In the morning, in the Afternoon at night… We usually drink approximately 4-5 cups f tea daily. And just like in the UK, here in Chile we also drink milk tea. Although, not all Chileans like. Some prefer tea without milk.
+EnglishwithLucy Time 06:42 *_To galvanize_** is actually a loanword from Italian, after one Luigi Galvani, who did bioresearch at the Università da Bologna (ITA).* Alchemists extrapolated from Galvani's experiments with electricity on frog legs to electroplate zinc and chromium to various steels. I may not know the definitions of some high level grammatical structures or many highly proficient words, but I think it's not that important.
