I appreciate a similarity with the correspondent verbs in Spanish: advocate,-abogar. amplify-amplificar, and so on. Most of them the same root, in spite they're different languages. You have a very beautiful pronunciation, besides.Great lesson
Thank you Lucy. I am not here to learn the language but to see your beautiful face that makes me forget those tormenting years in school where I had all the ugly teachers.
I noticed that most of these verbs have some kind of Latin roots, so I guess they sound "sophisticated" or high level also for this reason ahah. Besides, being Italian, I could already grasp the meaning of lots of them even before your explanation and that's how fascinating languages can be in their similarities! Awesome video as always Lucy, thank you ^_^!
Yes, as a Brazilian I understood most of this words. They're constantly used in Portuguese. Awesome video to train the pronunciation of this words in English.

@@josecuervo4122 Oh yes for sure! French has deeply influenced the English language throughout the centuries, we can just think of words such as aubergine, courgette, etc and so Italian, Spanish and the romance languages in general, which have the same Latin roots as French, may let these words be easier to understand.
Thank you, Lucy! I've been following you for a while and it's a pleasure to listen to your voice and pronunciation! You're awesome! Thank you once again 🙏
This is an excellent concept of video, I've recently been stagnating in my English level because I just can't find content with enough diverse vocabulary to learn new words and this video do help a lot, please make others !
Hi Lucy. This video is fascinating!! I loved it!! Greetings from Chile. Chile is the Latin American country with the most British ancestry. Reason why, Chile is the Latin American country with the highest per capita cosumption of tea. And also, it is the only country in Latin America where the cosumption of tea exceeds that of coffee. We Chileans love to drink tea at any time of the day. In the morning, in the Afternoon at night… We usually drink approximately 4-5 cups f tea daily. And just like in the UK, here in Chile we also drink milk tea. Although, not all Chileans like. Some prefer tea without milk.

Moreover, I learned English accent -your pronunciation inspired me a lot- now I’m speaking with my English accent and it’s too funny for me. I can pronunciate as well as you can. ❤😂 But wondering if you can make a video for How can we still speak with English accent while speaking really fast. Cuz sometimes it’s really hard to maintain the accent in speedy speeches.
Yes Lucy, I'm ready to take on your level test of C1 and C2 level. Thank you for the Advanced English Verbs Lucy. I want to learn a new English word everyday from you.
As an English tutor, I was so upset for getting just 102 on TOEFL, since it was my first time and I know what had lead me to worse performance, of course I can try to justify it, but in truth I think my level is not entirely C2, but approaching it. I may not know the definitions of some high level grammatical structures or many highly proficient words, but I think it's not that important. Lucy's test gave me C2 and I enjoyed feeling at the top ahah

Really good list of advanced verbs! I often come across many of these, but I never quite remember their exact meaning. This helped in better understanding their true meaning and I might even start using them myself.
