KOTOR isn't open world, like at all. Absolutely love that game, one of my favourites of all time but it's corridor to corridor design. That said, they do a great job of making it feel more open, even more so than a lot of actual open world games.

You might be thinking about a different SW games - at least I don't remember that you can choose between a good / bad side. What you can do: Choose between different options in dialogue and this will lead to different responses from factions.
There are otherwise multiple others games in development right now, e.g. Quantic Dream narrative adventure, Respawn FPS or Amy Henning's action adventure.

I like the idea, but I wish it had the same plot just you could make, name, and customize your own character, get different jobs, maybe a bounty hunter, jedi, sith, outlaw, etc, learn the force, maybe have a perk tree for your character and their force and lightsaber abilites, it would make this game 10x more awesome.
Yes and scavenge and customize your own ships, droids and wepons or just buy them... or trade with the jawas🤣 And dont forget the armors or races of people you could have, like the mandalorian where you could get jobs from your tribe or a pyke and work for the syndicate

It's literally a star wars life simulator 😂 you can fully, and freely explore whole planets/moons with no loading screens, you can do whatever you want, no objectives, you have complete freedom. You can be a cargo hauler, bounty hunter/mercenary/miner. If you love star wars this game is a star wars nerds wet dream
They really dropped the ball here not letting anyone fully immerse themselves in the game by creating your own character. I can’t imagine how much money they missed out on without having that feature alone

People want to choose their character, especially since the game will rely on that open world facet. They don’t want to be stuck as one character we’re not going to get attached to.

Most games don't let you create a character why would this game be different?? It's up to the devs they didn't want to bother having to painstakingly design a character creator and have it look good during cutscenes.. you wouldn't be able to have much dialogue at all and everything would look awkward with people ruining faces and having bad lip synce
"biggest anticipated" is quite an overstatement.
This is the first “modern open world” star wars game technically yes but bioware and obsidian did KOTOR 1&2 respectively which were open world but not open open world like bethesda games studios open world. Personally I think them remaking KOTOR from the ground up with modernized combat like jedi fallen order and survivor sounds like a much more exciting prospect. Sure an open world star wars game is great and all but what the community really wants is a full on open world/worlds star wars game where you can be any type of character you want. Force user Dark Neutral Light, a smuggler Han Solo type, an imperial trooper type, a bounty hunter type, you get the point. Basically a KOTOR or SWTOR set in a different time period than the old republic era. All that with a fully go snywhere do snything RPG style game like bethesda as I mentioned previously. It sounds like the closest we are getting to that is the KOTOR remakes and maybe Star Wars eclipse. If that game ever comes out that is. As to this game I think making a set character as opposed to a character creation with either sex is always a mistake for any open world game. Even if you are going more for action adventure as opposed RPG I think a character creator with either sex is about A’s universal as you get. Pretty much every gamer now wants to see themselves in the character they are playing and using a set character is definitely a missed opportunity on ubisofts part. Hopefully its not long before we get the KOTOR remakes or get Star wars eclipse so we can have something more along what I described every star wars fan I know has been begging for it. I don’t understand the reasoning behind not doing it yet. Personally for me the only good to great star wars games that has released under disney was Jedi Fallen order and Jedi Survivor. I certainly hope that this game is good but I was far from falling in love with it during the trailer and even more so with the gameplay the next day. But I guess hope for sunshine and prepare for rain. We will just have to wait and see.

Hopefully they give us an online version like red dead or gta, with character creation, customizable ships, armor and maybe even droids. Live like a bounty hunter fight for the empire or the Republic or go your own route sorta thing. Become a pirate and have a crew etc. endless possibilities

This year I got back into video games after about a 3 year hiatus and I have fallen in love with open world games like red dead redemption 2, Tears of the kingdom and ghost of Tsushima to name the big ones I’ve played this year. So excited for Star Wars which I loved as a kid and open world games as an adult

Im not sure i even want a open world star wars game, but i do need a remake of jedi academy. A completely remade game that's not swinging a saber with body movements but with camera movements while holding a attack button for true saber immersion.

This game looks amazing exactly what I envisioned for an open world/Galaxy SWs game and love the fact that you're not a Jedi tbh that's played out. To play as a normal person "Scoundrel" like Han Solo has me super hyped
