    I like all of the facts. I know your job is specifically the removal, but the video is more about learning and displaying. I am curious how often you see the wasps that aren't a problem, such as the mud dauber nests. Sometimes they nest not too far the others at least here. I don't recall you doing anything but a mention about them. I think it is cool how you've rehomed some nests. Haven't seen much of those lately.

    Omg, those chewing sounds would freak me out if they were in my house! That always blows my mind that only one queen starts those huge colonies! It really is fascinating.

    That was a very healthy, thriving colony. Seeing how tightly packed the larvae and pupae were is probably one of the ones you've removed that was doing this well. It's nice seeing your bird family enjoying their fresh nest. Great video!!!

    Hey 👋. I have not commented in a while but I never miss a video! Your content has always been beautiful and eye opening. I also want to say your birds have the most beautiful feather condition I have ever seen! Obviously enjoying the additional protein in their diet! Amazing. Great job. Best regards, Fran, Staten Island, New York 😊

    Love how Hornet King went viral and made a bunch of money, but instead of investing in land, homes, and gold/silver, he buys thousands of dollars of exotic animals, animal cages and UnderArmor gear. Gotta love the internet!

    Great video. Nerves of steel, with the critical thinking skills of a nurse.💫 I have the tendency to give the hornets/wasps voices. I know it's childish. But since it near Halloween, I'll share a spooky scene from the film titled, The Vacuum A Portal To Hell. "Example, Fred flys off from the nest thinking, 💭 "Such a great day. Im off to complete my assignment." A coworker flys by and says, "Hey Fred. What's up. Nice to have these cooler temps." Fred completes his assignment and reaches home.💭"What the buzz is happening!!!!? Where is everyone? Is this the apocalypse? Wait! Alot of them seem attracted to the cylinder tubing thing. I'll check it out.." 🌪️🌪️🌪️ Fred is never seen or heard of again. 😮😨🫨 You get the point. Happy Halloween 🎃👻💀

    Your birds are Awesome! How old is/was Doris? These modern Doinosaurs are really cool! I Adore Large birds soo much!
    Soo..
    My mother almost died in her house because of a Bee infestation, which burst into her kitchen one day. Her room mate, much younger than her took a vacume to them, which actually did the job. My mother probably would have died without the room mate and vacume! Insects are Serious Shit! They may be small, bbut Very Large to Life!

    QUESTION- for us up in Maine, we get a lot of those small yellow jackets ( angry and fisty agressive) where, what do the queens look for to hibernate in? commonly found spots? deep deep underground or just a few inches in leaves?? PS - love to see how your channel has grown so much ! u are awesome!

    I am clear on how if two queens use the same space over different colony seasons, the second queen does not reuse the comb. It makes sense practically, since the cells would presumably become weathered and structurally compromised over time.
    Is the old envelope ever recycled? I feel like that would save the colony a lot of time foraging for new wood fibers. I'm curious because I know from your previous videos that a colony will recycle envelope, over the course of a single season, when they take down and rebuild the outer layer of envelope as the nest grows.

  • @heatherkohlwey8379
    @heatherkohlwey8379 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    So if a cavity gets totally full with an old nest, will it deter a new colony from that space if there is no room? I've seen entire walls in old farm houses packed full.

    • @FloofersFX
      @FloofersFX 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't know about that, the small nests that would appear around here would repeat if we didn't clean off all the paper n stuff. So my guess is if they find a spot where there used to be an active nest, they take it as a good spot. Any new ones might just recycle it and make the spot their own.

    It always seems like the people who neglect their homes are the most likely to have these kinds of pests. Dirty moldy siding with roofing nails drove through it in this case, or overgrown landscaping/lawns in a lot of other cases. That siding will never be fixed. The homeowner has no pride in their property. Good for you for having the professionalism to return the siding to at least as good as it was when you got there. Those folks are lucky to have someone like you in their area.
