You can also use the OTG cable will also let you plug in a RTLSDR dongle. you should also be able to find an OTG cable with a second micro USB that let's you add a battery bank to save some of the drain on your phone.
I'm halfway through Minimum QRP and finding it quite informative and entertaining.
