Thanks for sharing and and for taking all of us into the outdoors with you. Some of us have not been able to do all that we would like to do this year but at least we have you!! Thanks!
Good morning from northern ontario Chuck. Well enjoyed the boil up and the Bannock recipe. Persuaded me to get on the atv and have a boil up this afternoon. That's my two for today. Have a great day
We lost a hitch pin this weekend, exactly because of this. Upside down from now on. Oh, hang some pink flagging tape on it. That helps when it drops into the snow.
Love the videos chuck! Me and my family found your channel a couple months back and have been watching each and every video you put out!! We love watching you and Willow do outdoor activities!
Great tip on the pin and the lever to get unstuck. Clamping from the top equals less chance of snowmobile snow guard bouncing up to undo the hitch pin . I have a tip to share with you. Use a piece of bail wire through the eye of your hitch pin and attach to your machine bumper. If the pin is dislodged, it will dangle from bumper and you may not have to replace it or try to find it in snow. Regardless, I always carry a spare. Your videos are relaxing to watch. I find myself smiling as I watch them. Take care out there!
Gotta love winner well products. Great trick to getting your sled out. Myself I've got the winch on my sled. Also great to have on a heavy machine. Again another great video with willow and without saying a lunch over a fire.
I just found your channel a week or so ago. I've had my tablet attached to me ever since, trying to watch all your great videos. 😁 I have many more hours to watch and looking forward to them all. Willow and her comments are awesome! Take care and keep up the awesome job on the videos!
Haven’t thought about bannock in a long time Chuck. We used to make it when we were kids. I think we used to put sugar in it, and cook it over a fire of apple twigs. It almost always burned, but we loved it. Thanks for posting.
Still catching up Chuck. Love the winter camping, my favorite time of the year. . Nice that you shared the tip on the skidoo jack. I carry an old car jack and a shovel when I travel alone. Got my skidoo expedition out a couple of times.
Wow I've lost so many pins on sleds for years. So glad you said that tip!!! Many things in life are like this, upside down. Like being humble is the way to a functional life with Jesus and man. Was proud so long and lost my pin head many times...lol. Cheers from Alaska.
I will be trying this tip out! I loose so many hitch pins. The hitch pin industry will take a hit if I stop loosing them. I always keep a spare in my day pack.
Love the ski doo method to get unstuck certainly save the back !!! You got me craving some bannock , that will be my next trail lunch ! keep the videos coming I love them ! Take care
Another good video!! In Goose Bay we always called them Juniper as well, and they are the hottest burning wood I've ever seen when you get a good dry one. Nice shot of the neighbors antenna and tower as well. Take care and keep making videos.
great idea i will keep that in mind for sure. i have hauled lots of wood i find the pin works it way up while you haul the sleigh and this will pop the safety off. nice cold day and lots of snow we got little snow this year, ponds not safe to go fishing. tasty looking food the pizza looked good. have a great weekend
We tried to get a duck toller when we got Willow....there were none available and there was up to a two-year waiting list. Very popular breed for sure!
@@ChuckPorterEverythingOutdoors we were trying to get a female but didn’t work out so we settled. For a male and love him to pieces we were gonna name the female Willow after ur sweet pup she so beautiful
They certainly are Mike. I first used this method when I got stuck so bad I had to leave my snowmobile in the woods and walk out to my cabin (7 kms away). I returned a few days later, tried this method, and literally drove it right out in minutes
should rename the video to How to almost melt butter at -20..LOL. Great video and hints. Its the simple things that you forget. I hadn't had bannock for a very long time and a few months ago made some for the kids...very simple and delish.
Hey Chuck very cool video. we havent got much snow here in northern ontario. expecting a storm this weekend. need some snow . by the way my expedition now has 900 kms on it..very fun on the lakes and trails but i keep finding cool little places in the bush to go with it. you can really do some exploring with this sled.
Great video! Those fiskars axes are indestructible and economical. I have one that has been outside on my wood pile for 10 years with no problem. When it comes to camp chores tho It doesn’t compare to my granfors bruks small forest axe for balance and versatility.
Thanks for bringing us along again, good job on every vid , you keep it entertaining👍🏻. Pin is pushed upwards & out when the snow flap tilts upwards as the track & body sinks in snow.(dan)
The pin tends to works itself up, especially with a lot of weight in the sleigh. Also, if the snow flap gets pushed up it drives the pin up hard enough to knock the safety clamp off
Another great video! Did you enjoy reading Greenlights? I thought it was a wonderful book... so thought provoking in fact that I have to read it again.
Look up Garmin Alpha. Very expensive but uses satellite to see dogs location on hand held gps device. Can go farther than you would be comfortable to allow Willow to go.
No problem at all: 1.5 cups of flour 1 tbsp of baking powder pinch of salt tbsp of brown sugar (optional) mix water until you get a 'pizza dough' consistency
Love your video's. I made Pizza last night for my wife and wish I had moose meat....used the last of mine from last year before the holiday. Wishing you well
I use bear bell but i always know were she is they can be a little sneaky sometimes lol , ive looked at the gps ones you half to go to a tracking caller to have success in my search , A little jealious for the snow machine we dont really get any snow here !
I think youre right Steve about the tracking collar. I want it mainly for when Willow is out by the cabin door and I'm inside. When I'm out with her she never leaves my side. She doesn't even roam much when I'm inside the cabin, however, there have been sightings of wolves around my cabin recently, and that concerns me more than anything. Thanks for tuning in again buddy 👍
Ya wolves thats nuts we have them dont get them around us like that but they are a issue here is more cougars Chuck ive had them track me and Frankie on the quad several times this yr
Good tip 👍 Guessing if you had area tracked down with your snowshoes you could pivot the machine left or right to more sold snow Ps send snow we still don’t have enough to ride lol
Could you not use a GPS tracker for vehicles and somehow attach it to Willows collar? I seen some very small trackers. They are run off satellite. Just a thought.
This one is listed as a car tracker and a pet tracker. It works very well in cell service but not in satellite range. Which is where I would need it the most.
-20 is nice weather out west for winter . Home is a bit damp and cooler . You can tell the snow is a lot less then last year . Is the cabin far from the city?
It's just way easier to turn the pin upside down than turn the sleigh upside down I guess lol .. it has to do with the weight of the pin. Also agree the longer the tree the better the leverage.... lol. Them dog trackers were invented in Saskatchewan... days b'ye dems running.. Marco Polo are the best.. I use it for the drone. Chuck, great video. Loved the tips so much this is the only time I’ve EVER commented on a TH-cam video. That should tell you something. Two quick questions. How much does a toboggan like yours cost?
I bought mine in Labrador for $359.99. I really like it thus far👍
Because you're protecting the wire clip from being hit and the pin popping off.
