- The co-founder of beer company Brewdog claims we're one of the least work-oriented countries in the world.
James Watt believes our work ethic 'just doesn't stack up' when compared to other nations.
He's also sparked controversy by saying he doesn't believe in the idea of a work-life balance.
James has also mentioned research from King’s College London which found that Britons are among the least likely of 24 nations surveyed to say work is central to their life.

I’m just tuning in so I can hear millionaires tell me how work shy I am for working 10 hours a day for minimum wage and not being over the moon about it :)
Believe it or not, people aren’t jumping at the chance to jump out of their bed in a probably depressing grotty room, in a depressing grotty house which they probably spend a depressing grotty amount of money on - to then drag themselves down their depressing grotty street onto the depressing, grotty bus and into their depressing grotty workplace.
The chattering classes just don’t get it. Peoples souls are dying, people aren’t robots.
Maybe we just don’t want to work our arses off for a company that doesn’t give a crap about us. No employers now value their staff and they will get rid of you in a instant if it means their shareholders get more cash.
I work part time 10am - 3pm Monday to Friday for myself. I don’t earn a lot of money but just enough to get by. I go on 3 holidays a year as I want to enjoy my life not sat in front of a computer for 10 hours a day for some millionaire at the top.
The reason is that there is no industrial industry like there was in the past, and AI is now going to replace many roles, which means fewer jobs. Most goods are imported. Call centres are increasingly outsourced abroad. Our town centres are largely empty of stores. The system has done this to the people, not the other way around. Companies are making cutbacks because of bad government policies, and the economy isn't good.
A lot of children in this country are born to lose " literally " & as for her saying she is still working at her age , she's not exactly digging holes in the road .
IM 73 AND I WOULD NOT WORK FOR THESE RICH PEOPLE, WHAT IS THE POINT IF AT SOME POINT YOU CANT SAVE UP AND BUY A HOUSE OR CAR ETC UK HAS 177 BILLIONAIRES THATS WERE ALL THE MONEY HAS GONE,YOU NEEF TO CUT THEM DOWN TO SIZE OR TELL THEM IF YOU ALL DONT PAY A GOOD CHUNK OF TAX YOUR OUT OF THE COUNTRY, THERE ARE PLENTY YOUNG BUDDING ENTREPRENEURS TEADY TO TAKE THEIR PLACE WHO WOULD READILY PAY THE TAX THEY SHOULD BE PAYING, CAPITALIST GREED
Why is Peter on? Work is good for the pocket? Is he off his head. Most people who work minimum wage don't get paid anywhere near enough. Feel sorry for them
@@vikingfrog7204 Peter talks about his own experience and was lucky enough to live in a period where you could actually live a quality life, buy a house etc.Imo he is ignorant.

It’s a great life who isn’t slogging their guts out for £12 a hour . If the government hadn’t allowed the EU to move all the industries over to Europe under the pretence that it was our interest. Help the companies to start up again pay these people a liveable wage and make it work for the workers . Stop using cheap labour that arrives by boat . And stop paying so much in benefits . I read a post that a women that claims she is unable to work due to her mental health complaining she only gets £1890 every 4 weeks to live on saying she doesn’t have to pay her rent but the system wants me to pay a per of my council tax . It made me aware of how rubbish I am trying to live on £860 every 4 weeks as an OAP who worked and payed into the country for 51 yrs look at that
Productivity comes down to what a nation produces. We produce little because over regulation has made the UK unattractive for manufacturers
There is no incentive to work any more so don't blame anyone for not
You get to pay for someone else's mortgage. Surely that's a good incentive.
Perhaps if people could actually afford to buy a house, live a life etc then they would be encouraged to work harder.Peyer was lucky enough to live in an era where you could do those things, yet is ignorantto the fact that many youngsters now can only dream of having what he took for granted.

No you don't need to work 60-70 hours a week to feel a sense of self worth.
You're not obligated to run yourself down to the ground.
I work 37 hours a week for £1900 a month take home.
I'm in Newcastle and more than comfortable. 🎉
Bleksley who i usually agree with is being patronising here saying there are 900000 vacancies for people to pick from. That may be true across the country but if they are not in your area and you cannot afford to move, what are you supposed to do.
I get where he is coming from but not everyone is lucky enough to do something they love and make money at it. On top of this not everyone can be in a well paid job. Unless you are running a company its not unreasonable for people to want a holiday and some days off.
Should the title start with the word Are instead of Ae ?!?! 🤔🧐🙄
Cant watch programme as I'm at work?
Hmmmm Mike and Storm I wonder why less and lees younger folks want to do physical work? Could it be the pension age going up. I wouldn't do those roles because i know my body would he screwed (knees, back etc) before i hit pension age and wouldn't get to enjoy my twilight years.
The more you earn the more you are fleeced!
pay a wage people will accept to do the job..
dont moan when all you do is pay the minimum you can get away with then brand your workforce workshy..
no YOUR PAY SHY!.
Work hard, play hard is a work life balance. Can't play hard if you working all the time.
his company has had so many unfair treatment cases against it....
Is someone having a baby?@6:46?
How many jobs are out there for people to love? Sitting at a desk for 37 hours isn't exactly brilliant. When I was in the army that was a lifestyle.
Pay them a wage they can live on not just exist , our wage is much lower than US and most of Europe because of stagnant wages under the Tory’s.
Let’s be honest, he is really talking about those in their late teens to mid 20s!
What the hell is anyone working for?
😂😂😂 old bs 🙄🙄🙄🥴🥴🥴😎
not sure whats up here but being censored... and not even being rude.
British work is shy??? but the sixth richest country !!! Bull,
The working classes built this country and you insult us by acussing us of being work shy I would love to see you live and work under the conditions we have had to you wouldn't last a week
I dont know anyone who is the dole. Every body I know work?
The UK has the 10th highest employment rate at 75.5%, the OECD average is 68.5%. Lets not let facts get in the way of a good story shall we.
