- The 1992 Hungarian motorcycle Grand Prix was the ninth round of the 1992 Grand Prix motorcycle racing season. It took place on the weekend of 10-12 July 1992 at the Hungaroring circuit.

As a huge Eddie Lawson fan to this day, I remember this race well. He received a Ferrari F40 for winning a 500 race first time ever for Cagiva.

当時、俺はシュワンツファンだったけど、「いけーっ！エディいけー！！！」ってテレビに向かって大応援してた。
珍しいことずくめのレースでしたね。50秒のビハインドをひっくり返して優勝、カジバ初優勝、エディにとって最後の勝利、マモラにとっても久しぶりの表彰台でした。

India had this GP feed when this happened with Rain and all had gone with wet tires and eddy went with dry tires and he surprised all with this win.Thanks. Doug Chandler was leading by 20+ secs or mins and lost by 10+ secs, thanks.
I watched this race live .. The field on wet tyres , Eddie on a cut rear slick just " Smoked em " Best race Strategy EVER.. with a little bit of luck .. Winners make their own Luck
Absolutely amazing race! Lawson was incredible! The announcers were losing their collective shit in disbelief. To win on that bike at that time, just brilliant.
The ranking of the first lap of EDDIE was 8th. EDDIE survived the wet road with cut slicks. I respect his obsession with victory.

ウェット路面にカットスリックという賭けができたのは、チャンピオン争いをしていなかったからだと皮肉を言う人もいました。しかしエディだから勝てたレース。序盤の難しい路面をカットスリックで乗り切りました。絶妙なマシンコントロールが持ち味のエディだけがなせる業でしょう。
Steady Eddie そうなんです。このレースはローソンじゃなければ勝てなかったと俺は思ってます。確かに運も良かったかもしれないけど、運を呼び込んだのもローソンの実力あっての事だと思います。

慌てて録画スタートしたけど、一番みたいところが切れていた。
こんなレースは、なかなか見られないから悔しくてたまらなかった記憶があります。
それにしても、今見てもアツくなるねー！

Love this race! One of the greatest "decisions" made that I know of...
People told "He was able to risk, it's because he was not a title fight".
Lawson told "I had to return the bad luck in the Dutch TT Assen".
Ralf Waldmann did the same in "reverse" in the 2000 British GP 250cc race. He (and Naoki Matsudo) decided to go full wet, when everyone else took inter and dry. Got almost laped and then it started to rain...

Lawson apostó por montar neumáticos mixtos, los demás montaron de agua. La pista se secó poco a poco y Lawson remontó hasta ganar.
It was a great race! Eddie was the only one who mounted dry tyres and when the track began to dry he flew to victory. It seemed that Eddie ran agaist 125cc bikes!
Eddie ran a cut slick from memory, when the track dried up and temps rose he had grip and like you say the rest were history, amazing strategy and probably his easiest win, wily old fox Eddie lol!

カジバで優勝する、2年カジバで走ったら引退する、と2つの宣言を実行してグランプリを去ったエディ。今でも僕にとって英雄です。

ウエットコンディションなのでランディーマモラが勝つかもなんて思ったけどエディーローソンも凄いライダーですね。
TOP3誰が勝っても貴重な優勝なレース。エディーがTOPにたったとき「なすすべなしダグチャンドラー!」の千歳屋アナのコメントが印象深かった。
チャンドラーは初優勝がかかったレース。勝つことがいかに難しいか思い知らされたに違いありません。
3位に入ったマモラは、かつて在籍したカジバの初優勝を喜んだと伝えられました。

TBCはヤマハのイベント（たしか'87くらいから全日本に組み込まれてた）。翌年ホンダに移籍することが決まっていたエディにとって、無理して怪我することが許されなかったのでしょう。そういえば'92雨の鈴鹿でもラップ遅れになってたなあ。

Not sure where you'd find it but there was a 250gp race at donnington where (I think it was Bradl or Roth) the rider swapped tyres right at the end of the race and lapped the whole field, literally last with a lap or so to go and passed the lot to win

Well same thing really. When F1 went from V8 engines to 1.6l ones, the name of the championship didn't change. They did when it went from 500cc two strokes to the 4 stroke motors, but the bikes are still pure prototypes and the Motogp have been through 3 engine capacities already
