    You don't need the HUE 2 with the H510i. The Smart Device 2 has two HUE 2 channels that will support the AER RGB 2 fans, the LED strips, and the underglow kit. As far as wiring them up, with the new HUE 2 architecture, you can daisy-chain them any way you want (pay attention to the order, if you're using RGB modes that cycle through the components though).
    The limit per HUE 2 channel is either 6 devices or 40 LEDs, whichever comes first. The AER RGB 2 fans have 8 LEDs. The LED strips have 10 LEDs each, and the underglow kit (assuming ATX version) has 20 LEDs total in two strips. Each fan or strip counts as one device.

      I bought the LED light strip kit and used it to control additional light strips and the RGB fans. Just plug the Hue 2 into a USB port. Each fan gets power from the system board. And make sure the daisy chain cables for RGB control are correct. Thats all there is to it!

      If you’re using led strips without a control box you just plug them into the rgb header on your mother board. Different manufacturers have different software to control lighting. There’s no true integration at this time so sometimes with different makes of lighting you have to set up and run different software for controlling them.

    Hi there, nice installation guide and as I have the same case, I'd like to ask a question (might be a dumb one) . Why not remove the original controller delivered with the case? It seems to me that the hue 2 controller can control the leds already installed in the case as long as they are not plugged into the same port (different channel). This would free up a usb port on the motherboard. So the question is, is it possible to "unplug" the original controller leds and hook them into the hue 2 controller and control all fans and leds through the hue 2? Thanks for any advice you can give and thanks again for the video ;) PS: I don't have a water cooler for the cpu, just a stock amd cooler. Might add one later.

    • @JilesMcCoy
      @JilesMcCoy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! I didn't explore the option of removing the included controller... but if you want to go that route it might make more sense to just buy the 500 rather than the 500i and just add all of your RGB separately.

      @@matthewwallis794 , Hi there. Worked out perfectly. Installed hue2 rgb fan kit and also bought and installed led strips on the h500.
