Soumali nice blog :) but however I want to tell you that I have spend almost 10 years in a foreign country and they grow their children extremely independent. I think your child should get up and do basic things like arrange his clothes on his own BECAUSE he will get married tomorrow and what you are doing his wife will do. So as an indian mother it is our responsibilty to rasie indian boys independently!

Love your way of thinking. But its not about being independent, life after marriage or foreign culture. Im a Mauritian and my mom taught us that we should make our bed and other basics things, just like we brush our teeth or bath. Because these things are normal and hygenic
