I can see why however to do that in real life would be an absolute ball ache! Storytelling wise though or to get your brain thinking outside of the box. Absolutely!
One cool thing that was pointed out to me: You can clearly see the viking is holding an axe at 2:24 , but right before the match cut it shows him lift the knight's sword into frame before it cuts to the knight holding it. It's a pretty cool transition straight into the climax. Absolutely loved For Honor for years, and adored this cinematic.

It’s sad no one realizes just how good this game is now. I played the beta when it launched and the game then and now after years of balance are night and day
The beta was often times better, they've stripped off so many mechanics in the final release. But I get your point, still. I think For Honor had far more potential, far more variety in characters without the need of introducing another 2 factions which just made the game lose the point of fighting with honor for a side.
As a big for honor player during the first year I found the balance issues with the new characters annoying enough to stop but going back to it I just don't know their move sets and just kills the fun for me when I only win against half the characters because I only know half the moves they can do. Yes I could spend time learning the moves of the newer characters but its a lot to learn multiple. The only reason I didn't run into that problem on release is because everyone else also didn't know what the hell was going on along side me. I guess what I meant by this is just that it is really hard to get into the game which is why it never really made a comeback. The skill gap between a new player/returning player is just to much with a game like for honor
Sadly 2 years ago started loosing the serious atmosphere these trailers give you. For sure a bit of sillyness is good, it's a game after all, and FH community never lacked it, but they went too far into the memes
You‘re definitely right, but what I think most good and knowledgeable FH players forget is, this game is overall dogshit in terms of balancing and it’s not really what was promised in the trailers, almost nothing besides characters you see in the trailer is really in the game to play/interact with. I already accepted this fact, but even after 3000 hours of playing I still sometimes think how sad it is this game isn’t what the trailers showed. Instead of epic (which it kinda was at launch) it’s more arcadey now imo. Balancing now compared to launch? Night and Day and definitely better, but looking at it overall as a non FH fan, I get why 99% of people dropped this game, it’s sadly mostly power creep nowadays which made most characters stale and too similar to each other.
@@denizilhan5265 True, the game should've been a bit slower and more tactical, but that would lower the player count cause many players are just toxic people with attention span lower than a chicken.
Marching Fire and Harbringers reveal cinematics (Vortiger, Sakura, Hulda, Zhanhu) as well as other Hero trailers are also worth a look btw. For Honor has grown into much more over the years than what it was in 2017.

8:01 I think the voice is good but the reason it doesn’t fit as well with the trailer and the camera movements are static is because this isn’t the original of this. The voice actor is original but this is actually from the 360 “In The Heart of Battle” Cinematic For Honor trailer.
I absolutely love For Honor and still play it to this day. But its, I think, one of the few games thats been ruined not by the devs. But by how good players got. How players just got so good on the scale where it made fights a staring fight. Its a wild story.
The issue is that the game only really has two types of players nowadays. Veterans who have been there for years and beginners taking their first steps. But the vicious cycle is that a lot of these beginners don't stay around for long because of the game's frustrating/toxic/competitive nature. Typically every time I've tried to introduce a friend to the game they get on it about a few weeks, maybe a month or so before dumping it once they start having a few good games and the matchmaking places them against the veterans.

I recommend you check out all the DLC character reveal trailers as well they're very short except for the marching fire trailer which you should also watch but all of them added up should make a decently long video to cover them all. Also, this game despite its very mixed community being either very nice people or toxic as hell, no in between. Is worth giving a shot. The game had a rough launch but it's in a really good place right now. The combat is very unique and there's nothing else like it. The customization is also amazing. I recommend you try it out!

Melee game cinematics need to sell camera work to catch the players who want to get into their game, always a winner if the cinematics are great on my list of games to play. Melee driven combat games always rank higher for me on the cinematics, they almost have to make the camerawork sell the power of each move and I love how it accentuates the characters strength behind each attack & think the reason for using a close camera that stretches' out in combat is to emphasize your character being the main focus, powerful and strong but also when we zoom out we see that others are on an equal plane, shot from a similar perspective almost, suggesting that even though you are powerful on your own, there are others who are just as powerful & you might need to fight a challenging battle, again that itself carries the weight of the characters & idea that they all are actual people you will be playing with or against. @@kaizammit yeah, but I meant specifically compilations of the executions, the finishing moves. Those are some dope cinematography and choreography as well, and the hero trailers only feature parts of a hero’s first 4 ones. New ones are continously beint added, and some of them are masterpieces.
Hey Kai, just curious, you do a lot of trailer reactions, but would you ever do reactions to cutscenes in games? I know a good amount of games with great cutscenes that I feel like would be so fun to watch you breakdown
I'm actually going to start doing more of those type of videos so yeah! I've got three coming up soon, Halo 4, Titanfall 2 and Gears of War 1. They are more reaction only type videos as I can't breakdown a whole game movie down but setting the bar now. What games did you have in mind?
@@kaizammit well God of War is a really good one to start off with. The two most recent ones are done all in “one shot”. From cutscene to gameplay, the camera never cuts or fades to black the whole game. What you could do too, for game cutscenes, is choose a game and then a theme, whether it be fighting or emotional or something else. Then just search up a compilation of “all fights from [insert game title]”. That way, you’re not just sitting through 3 to 4 hours of gameplay and you still get a good amount of content
Everything from the lore to the gameplay to the art style to the overall world building of this game was spectacular! Unfortunately, I believe that the Developers loss it’s main story and has pushed a very questionable path, and also very questionable characters that had nothing to do with the main three factions that originally started the game and also made the campaign ending feel very weird, knowing that the multiplayer was meant to be the story equivalent of you fighting for your faction in the campaign. I hope that made sense.
you should have a look at the war thunder cinematic trailers if you get interested i think there’s about 3 or 4 of them and all have reall cool stories
@@kaizammit yes, that's exactly it. That's not a historical helmet, and you can really see how the details are 1 to 1 with the warden, despite it too having been inspired on some other fantasy helmet

You should consider the character trailers! Its quite a lot, but there is excellent worldbuilding in them and would make a good example to contrast with Honkai Star Rails style of character trailers. More technical side vs more charcater-driven like
Already filmed it, coming soon. Probably next week if I can edit it in time. One of my favourite trailers was one that most people wouldn't like. I totally digged it. Haha
Ah..i remember watching the trailers on repeat all those years ago.....much to my regret and shame i bought the Gold Edition and spent way to much of my life playing this game even tho it absolutely pissed me off lol. Did enjoy the closed Alpha and Beta...release and on...no so much.
As someone with almost 2k hours into this game I truly loved it. The only thing that has now stopped me from playing it anymore is just the ridiculous new heroes and terrible balance changes. The game had a great life span to so I’m not even upset it’s just they have not dropped any content worth anything while the dlc heroes have completely ruined the game.
Everyone complains about ubisoft killing the game, but it's not entirely Ubisofts fault. I agree it could be better, but it's way better than it was on release. The community also had a hand in killing it. At one point, ubisoft made an effort to massivley overhaul the voices of the characters. Giving them new voices, lines of dialogue, and i think reactive voice lines. The community backlashed so hard that the devs reversed the changes and sunk all that money into the drain. I think that was a tipping point for the decline of the game. It wasn't the only one, but it definitely didn't help.
All i see in this game is war Because only the victors write the tale, but in these none win Seriously, we need more war type games Not rushed ones with actual love put into em so we can just get you to have a blast watching the trailers
they had a good combat system but...nothing else. You played 2h of the open beta and you were done, you had done and seen everything. Not a surprised it died.
18:12 I hate hollywood fight scenes with the quick cuts etc, I grew up watching jackie chan, jet li and the like so I couldn't stand jason bourne and the other american action movies. John wick definitely was a step in the right direction
Just to say every comment here saying how the game fell off is not true people.still play it and enjoy it. The only problem is that since is a fighting game and multiplayer people are salty and keep whining about it on issues of how some heroes are stronger but in reality they are mad that people lose a match and rant about it on twitter, reddit and even youtube even give a lot of shit to ubisoft.
Love these trailers to this day, used to be a warden main for 3 years, spent way too much time on this game. Seeing this again made me realise, how much of an underused character Appolyon is and how great a story game/RPG set in this universe could be if they focused more on great story-writing and less on battlepasses no one buys... There is an animated/scripted "gameplay"-trailer, perhaps that's in your next video. That one had me and my friends hyped back then, turns out, the game looked nothing like that. Still a nice watch tho and since it was scripted gameplay, there should be plenty of cinematography-decisions you can talk about. Thanks for the great breakdowns as always!
Holy shit, I had completely forgotten how insane these cinematics were. The game was so incredible (for the first few years) and the cinmeatics and just generally the animations of all the characters in the game gave such a cool vibe and experience

I know they technically don’t fit, but checking out all the executions after the cinematics would be a hell of a ride.
I've got an all characters video coming soon, already recorded it. That had a lot of death in.
@@kaizammit yeah, but I meant specifically compilations of the executions, the finishing moves. Those are some dope cinematography and choreography as well, and the hero trailers only feature parts of a hero’s first 4 ones. New ones are continously beint added, and some of them are masterpieces.
Has anyone mentioned that Vessel of Hatred Trailer? Hoping every day for the last two weeks that u got in to it 😋
Is that the Diablo one? I will be coming back to Diablo soon so Cutscenes from the older titles and this new one.
@@kaizammit Yes exactly! Was hoping for a little prio on ur list for this one... i mean its big budget blizzard 🤩🤩🙃
I've just recorded all the Overwatch short films so to me, I've got lots of Blizzard coming. Probably to much if that makes sense.
Watch... Star Wars: Squadrons - Official Reveal Trailer (2mins) & “Hunted” CG Short (7mins) 🤙love all your reactions and breakdowns
You should react to Elden Ring story and gameplay trailers, they're so good, full of subtle lore and hidden mysterious
Got it! Thank you.
I hope that made sense.
man I'd love to see you review anime cinematics. attack on titan is the super popular one that new reactors are doing.
Would love to but I hear Anime on TH-cam for copyright is a monster task to get through.
you should have a look at the war thunder cinematic trailers if you get interested i think there’s about 3 or 4 of them and all have reall cool stories
I'll check them out!
you really should watch all the Total war warhammer cinematics, they are mostly 10 out of 10's
"I really like this knight's helmet"
Yeah it's the one on your shirt bro lmao
My t-shirt isn't a For Honor branded tee. Maybe this game inspired the shirts designers, they do look pretty similar.
@@kaizammit yes, that's exactly it. That's not a historical helmet, and you can really see how the details are 1 to 1 with the warden, despite it too having been inspired on some other fantasy helmet
you need to look at marching fire DLC trailer
Like all games still has it problems but its so much better now too bad its too late to become big game still get matches within1 to 5 mins and some people are super salty but still good time
You should consider the character trailers!
Haha
Aw man you missed the marching fire trailer!
The game is great. Best it ever was and so unique. If you didnt play try it. You will love it... And hate
This has a special place in me heart :,( Warden…plz
You should try reacting to apex legends cinematic trailers you might like them
Ah..i remember watching the trailers on repeat all those years ago.....much to my regret and shame i bought the Gold Edition and spent way to much of my life playing this game even tho it absolutely pissed me off lol. Did enjoy the closed Alpha and Beta...release and on...no so much.
Ah henry has come to see us
I've got to cover that game so I can put it to bed haha.
If your not playing forhonor in 2024 your just not that good to everybody that is still here more peace and love to all of y’all 💕💕💕💕💕
As someone with almost 2k hours into this game I truly loved it. The only thing that has now stopped me from playing it anymore is just the ridiculous new heroes and terrible balance changes. The game had a great life span to so I’m not even upset it’s just they have not dropped any content worth anything while the dlc heroes have completely ruined the game.
Youve gotta react to elden ring trailers next
I've got them on my list so I will cover them.
Kai, love the videos mate you should react to the Rainbow Six Siege cinematics they are all very well done
Alright fella, I will!
@@kaizammitwhat a guy!!!
I’d like to see you react to God of war trailers
Sounds like fun! I don't think I've covered any Playstation games on the channel so far??
Play For honor, we need more players.
All i see in this game is war
Because only the victors write the tale, but in these none win
Seriously, we need more war type games
Not rushed ones with actual love put into em so we can just get you to have a blast watching the trailers
they had a good combat system but...nothing else. You played 2h of the open beta and you were done, you had done and seen everything. Not a surprised it died.
Do they not explain how or why the world forced everyone together? I really like the concept of this game.
@@kaizammit maybe they do now or did later. Not back when I stopped playing it.
Well that's shite.
Can you do The Last Of Us 2?
Trailer breakdown or all cutscenes/game movie type video?
Wait, You don't happen to have a cousin who works as a Blacksmith in Czech Republic, right?
Is this a in-game joke or are you being serious? I'm actually curious.
@@kaizammit Just a nod to Kingdom Come Deliverance, you strike the resemblance of the protagonist, my good sir
Oh yes, I've heard this plenty of times. I must cover the game and put this to bed!
@@kaizammit Yippee😸
if only it wasn’t ubisoft who made this game
"For Honor", The most ironic title in gaming history, considering nobody plays with any lol.
Loved this game, played it for early access and years after, nowadays, not a fan, really gone downhill since then
18:12 I hate hollywood fight scenes with the quick cuts etc, I grew up watching jackie chan, jet li and the like so I couldn't stand jason bourne and the other american action movies. John wick definitely was a step in the right direction
Marching fire was when the game was really at its peak, after warmonger copy cat got added the game fr fr started dying off
Just to say every comment here saying how the game fell off is not true people.still play it and enjoy it.
I was beyond hype with this game but the connection issues and the pay to win ruined it for me
Holy shit, I had completely forgotten how insane these cinematics were. The game was so incredible (for the first few years) and the cinmeatics and just generally the animations of all the characters in the game gave such a cool vibe and experience
