    tried this on a D50 i bought the other day. Hinge wasn't off inside, but it wasn't making a good connection with the other little piece of metal in there so I rubbed em together a bit and it works fine now.
    Couple of side notes: IDK what the hell kind of threadlocker Nikon uses but man those screws were hard to get out. Also, it's way easier to get that plate back on if you click the flash down, then just power it back up and half press the shutter button to get it to pop up again. just catch it with your finger so it doesn't pop off again.
    Thanks for the vid ;)

      Ailton Stifler To be honest, until now I only thought this would work on only D60's. I now know it works on a lot of other Nikon cameras, but that's it, just the Nikon family of cameras. So I wouldn't think so, but I could be totally wrong. On a side note, if you do end up trying it out, let me know how it works out for you.

    You may be able to solder on a small piece of copper (maybe a cut piece off an old heat sink) to extend it. If you don't have old-school copper heat sinks laying around, and a soldering pen, then I have no idea what you could do. Sorry.

Good!!

    Well, It half worked. The flash started working again, but once I closed it, it would not pop up again in AUTO mode, but the flash kept flashing even when it was closed. Well, it was worth a try.

      The locals quoted me $150 to $300 to fix the flash, and all 3 places told me I'd be better off buying an external flash instead. It took me all of 3 minutes to fix my flash... I am starting to think I need to rethink my career choice!

    hey man i have a nikon d3000 and when i opened it up i dont have a pin like that i dont see anything similar to that inside. can you help please

    • @mrjrclark
      @mrjrclark  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Andy, I have heard that the little black pin that the metal clip sits on sometimes breaks. In that case, I have only read that people have linked the 2 strips of metal with electrical tape to make them touch all the time (see just below my screwdriver @ 1:42). However I imagine if you do that, then the flash will always go off, even with the flash hood closed. Hope that helped, and good luck. Sorry I don't know much more about your particular situation. Please let me know if it worked for my future knowledge.
